Impressive!! I give all my respect to Maersk, who rescued me 600 miles of Newfoundland in North Atlantic when my 38ft sailboat capsized in 50ft waves in september 2011 . I lived 4 days on Maersk Chancellor. I would like to thanks every people who contributed to this rescue.
There is no more fun and excitement working on container ships. They are in port only a few hours. Minimum or no shore leave. In the 1950's to 1970's I served as a Ship's Electrician for 7 years. Best times of my life. Almost 50 Officers and men on board. Today there are approx. 20 men and officers. My best wishes to the Capt., Chief Engineer and all men on board. God Bless and keep you safe.
Richard Boudville really? Which type of ships get more n longer shore leaves and are safe to work? Please reply. I thought container ships are best for work.
Ak TV ok let me fix this. What he is saying is ships only get a few hours at port, that is absolutely incorrect ships the size of Edith mearsk take almost 9-10 hours for cargo operations during which the crew can rest or go ashore.

I find it incredible that these gigantic ships are operated by just a handful of people. I would love to spend a few weeks on one of those ships to see what it is like.
Truly beautiful, what a dream job. Need more videos like this random recording some workers doing their shit and taking a video of the ocean and also the containers being lifted and placed. It eases my mind when im eating.
Ouate de phoque ? Once you’re on board the ships crew finally realizes that they can simply take shortcuts by driving over land... after 2 weeks with you at Maersk half of the fleet sank...😂👌👀
Fabulous video.from the captain to the guy who deals with the rubbish, life on board looks good.I come from a seaport, and wish I had gone for the Merchant navy.
what a well filmed fascinating video. Cant work out how you were able to neutralize all the background racket, and keep such a steady shot going , I know I couldn't do it. This brings back so many memories...thank you
This Video brings up stories of persons, of floating communities, of social relations, hard work, hard life, stunning places, real friendships, real "to be". I just want to say thanks to all the buddies I've met till now, to all the persons who still believe in the power of "being together as one" and carrying on also when things seems getting bad. Thank you guys, hope you're doing well, wherever you are.

If your daughter would like to share any of her photos, video, or writing about her experience on Maersk Kensington, we would be very happy to share it on the Maersk Group social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, TH-cam, etc.) Kind regards, Anna Granholm-Brun (socialmedia@maersk.com)
Greetings, for some reason I always wanted to work on one of these Huge Container Ships. I realize the work most likely isn't well paying for men starting out and it's not easy to get this job either and there is a lot of training and things to know. I watch a lot of Discovery Channel. I think the great thing about this job is you get to see the world and travel around everywhere from all different ports. I live in Canada so I'm not sure it's even possible for me to land one of these jobs however I will check the Facebook Maersk website out. Great video, thanks for posting.
If you are American citizen it's actually really good pay. An entry level position on any 3 departments ( deck, engine or steward dept. ) can make anywhere from 5k - 9k gross per month. That's just an entry level job.
FORGET MAERSK, ITS SHIT. YOU HAVE BETTER COMPANIES, SOME MAY NOT EVEN PAY SO MUCH BUT THEY GIVE YOU CONTITIONS TO WORK, SATABILITY AND THEY RSPECT WAHT YOU ARE. AND THEY RESPECT YOUR WORK. STAY AWAY FROM SHIT.STAY AWAY FROM MAERSK.
I really don't care which one are the ships I like them all I enjoy the videos and I thank Matt and Jeff these videos and I believe there's someone else Dean C thank you very much just want to let you know they are fantastic I love the water anyway just be careful God bless you all
I prefer working on board bulk carrier or multi purpose which load a bulk or container sometimes they stayed for two weeks and mostly discharge cargo name of the port that so marvelous still remembered though not fully automatic in that early 80,s n mid 90,s still loving those bites truly able bodied seaman
The music playing at the kitchen while on the chopping scene was a Filipino song.. LOL,, I was correct that there is a Filipino on this ship. I'm a filipino and I want to work here too..If only I was a little bit younger to fulfill this dream, Time do fly fast.
Container ship like this size have only 10-12 hours window in port . Discharging and loading reefer and dry cargo container . They sre skilled seafearer with positive attitude doing thier work delegently and profesionally in respect to every crew member ,They are also paid well because of the vast work keeping the ship safe , repair and maintanance schedule . Risk and responsibility .minimize the downtime so they can reach to next port of call on time.
Very interesting video. I only can watch them pass through the English Channel on Marine Traffic (dot) com. We are too small to get anything this large into Guernsey harbours.

At most a ship is in port for is 48 hours, this is the absolute for any port, but yes most time it is minimum especially for feeder size runs.
