      They are not the world's largest container ships. The newest container ship, the ONE INTEGRITY, built by a Japanese shipbuilder and now in service overseas, outperforms Evergreen and others in terms of hull size and maximum number of containers it can carry....
      Additional information: There are six 24,000 TEU container ships that were built and completed in Japan in the past six months and are currently being chartered and in operation overseas: ONE INNOVATION, ONE INFINITY, ONE INTELLIGENCE, ONE INGENUITY, ONE INSPIRATION, and ONE INTEGRITY.
      ●Hull
      ・Corporate color magenta (cherry blossom color)
      ・Length 399.95m
      ・Width 61.40m
      ・Gross tonnage: 235,000 tons
      ・Air draft 73.5m (height from water surface to top of mast is equivalent to a 20-story building)
      ・Launching screw 10m/100 tons
      ●Loading capacity
      ・24,136 20-foot containers.
      ・On deck (above deck): 24 rows, maximum 13 stacks
      ・Inside hold (ship hold): 12 stacks
      ●Features
      Using the latest analysis technology, we developed an optimal hull form that pursues high efficiency according to the ship's speed and draft, which are frequently used in operation. In addition, by optimizing our unique energy-saving devices SURF-BULB® and ALV-Fin®, and adopting the Rupas® rudder, we have achieved extremely high fuel efficiency for a 24,000 TEU ship. We have significantly satisfied EEDI Phase 3 (a reduction rate of 50% or more from the standard value) that will be applied from 2025.
      ・By applying brittle crack propagation arrest technology for extra-thick high-strength steel plates for the first time in the world to a ship over 20,000 TEU, we have improved safety without sacrificing loading efficiency.
      ・By adopting MAN B&W's latest design electronically controlled engine Mark10.6, and adopting inverter control of cooling seawater pumps and engine room fans, we have improved the ship's total fuel efficiency.
      ・In order to improve performance in actual sea areas, a bow wind cover is adopted, making it possible to load containers on the mooring deck inside the wind cover for the first time in the world, improving fuel efficiency and loading capacity.
      ・More than 2,000 power plugs for reefer containers used to transport frozen and refrigerated cargo are installed. This allows for more flexible service provision in line with customer needs. It also supports CA containers, which can be filled with nitrogen to preserve the freshness of fruits and vegetables while transporting them by sea.
      ・In conventional ships, various navigation instruments and steering equipment such as radar, ECDIS (electronic chart system), and main engine remote control system were placed separately, but a seated integrated navigation system INS (Integrated Navigation System) and an all-weather bridge are adopted to enable efficient operation even with a small number of people. This allows you to check navigation information and operate the equipment at your fingertips without moving around the bridge. It also improves the convenience and safety of ship handling when berthing and unberthing.
      ・The ship is equipped with a hybrid type EGCS SOx scrubber, complies with the maintenance of a hazardous substance list, and is equipped with an AMP (Alternative Maritime Power, land power supply system) that allows the diesel generator to be stopped during loading and unloading. In addition, a windshield is installed on the bow to reduce air resistance. It complies with various environmental regulations and also complies with the IMO (International Maritime Organization) emission regulations.
      ・Equipped with a CCTV camera system, it aims to improve safety by providing navigation support and monitoring in the engine room. As a cyber security measure, it has acquired DNV Cyber Secure notation.
      ・ It complies with various environmental regulations, such as adopting a hybrid type EGCS SOx scrubber, complying with the maintenance of a hazardous substance list, and installing an AMP (Alternative Maritime Power, land power supply system) that allows diesel generators to be stopped during loading and unloading.

    Cool video.. they are big ships.
    But I think the info on the Engines is a bit off. The largest engines are or were built by Wärtsilä-Sulzer. They make 6 -14 cylinder versions. I believe they have 6 foot pistons with 8 foot stroke. 105,000 HP at 105 RPM. About the height of a 4 story house. Plenty of videos about them. These engines seems smaller.. But they may be more efficient or run at higher RPM.. not sure.

      Allah our Lord says;
      Your Lord is He Who drives the ship for you through the sea, in order that you may seek of His bounty.
      Qur'an (17:66)
      Allah tells us of His kindness towards His servants by subjugating for them ships on the sea. He makes it easy for them to use ships to serve their interests, seeking His bounty through trade between one region and another.
      Allah almighty our Lord says
      And He(Allah) is the One Who has subjected the sea, so from it you may eat tender seafood and extract ornaments to wear. And you see the ships ploughing their way through it, so you may seek His bounty and give thanks ˹to Him˺.
      Qur'an (16:14)
      Allah tells us how He has subjected the seas, with their waves lapping the shores, and how He blesses His servants by subjecting the seas for them so that they may travel on them, and by putting fish and whales in them, by making their flesh permissible to eat.
      He has created pearls and precious jewels in the oceans, and made it easy for His servants to recover ornaments that they can wear from the ocean floor.
      He made the sea such that it carries the ships which plow through it. He is the One Who taught mankind to make ships, which is the inheritance of their forefather Nuh. He was the first one to travel by ship, he was taught how to make them, then people took this knowledge from him and passed it down from generation to generation through the centuries, so that they could travel from country to country and from place to place, bringing goods from here to there and from there to here.

    I’d like to know more about the drive train. I know some cargo ships use the piston engine to turn an electric generator, which in turn powers separate electric drive motors. Similar to diesel electric train locomotives, but steerable. This eliminates the drive shaft and rudder. I wonder if the new ships described here, use this hybrid arrangement.

  • @1airdrummer
    @1airdrummer 11 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      When you see numbers like 24,000, they measure TEU (Twenty-foot Equivalent Unit). The most common containers nowadays are 40ft, so it's half that number. Also, you probably counted the containers above the deck, but they go down inside the hull for 10-15 levels, so if you count those, you'll end up near half the TEU number.

    • @hambernat6444
      @hambernat6444 21 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      I don't know what you counted, but this green ship at end is around 24x32x17 = 13 056
      Minus 1/5 bc edges are squared and there is big gap in containers in middle.
      13 056 * 80% = 10 445 containers
      Like the other guy said, there can be containers under deck.
      Even the ship at start has 24x24x9 = 5 184
      Thats a lot far from 3 000.
