@devin9748 not the person you asked but I can answer your question. The 6 is amazing and still relevant now in 2024. I still wear my 5X plus occasionally. Garmin makes great watches.
2 yrs into my fenix 5x, battery life is getting short (short being charge every week) but otherwise it's been indestructible. I've given it hell! Stainless bezel is covered in scrapes and gouges, sapphire is still pristine. GPS takes long time to find location now too.
I love my Fenix 6X. The Sapphire glass makes it almost impossible to break the screen and I love the look of it. It's survived field training exercises and more I've gone through with it. Thanks for the review.
My question is why charge 800 dollars for a pro watch but only put gorilla glass and not sapphire in the first place knowing someone that is paying this much for a watch is more then likely going to take it through hell.. I have the fenix 6x pro.. then found out later that they had a sapphire version.. personally all of them should be made out of that. ?!

It's pretty bad value when you consider the Apple Watch does everything this does, with a much better screen with the only downside being less battery life. I have both, the benefit for this over the Apple Watch is the battery life, which my be relevant if you're doing ultra-events. But it's at least twice the price.

I just wasted 15 mins of my life writing a fair review that wasn't putting Garmin on a good light and it was wiped out. Souch a fair channel, I will definitely subscribe :))
You are so right about the cable being too short! I bought generic cable that is longer but did not function as well as the Garmin cable and was thinner as well. Nice review and really appreciated!
Thank you for a very clear and timestamped video! Finally just something I can jump to the part I'm actually curious about, and all very clearly videoed. Thank you!
I've had the Fenix 3hr,Fenix 5x, Ive got the Fenix 5x plus.... and hopefully I'll have saved up enough money to get this Fenix 6x sapphire by mid November.... at 50 I need the bigger screen... otherwise I'd stick with my Fenix 5x plus... Great review, thanks : -) 👍
the Fenix 6 is a beast!! worth every penny! yes its expensive but I promise you this, you'll put down the Apple Watch! this watch blows the competition away!!
Do you have anything to say about the brightness and visibility of the sapphire display in normal lighting? A number of people have commented that fenix's with sapphire glass are less bright and hampered more by reflections than those with the gorilla glass display.
How acurate are the steps a day? I often had 4000 more than apple watch showed me! Did u change the step length in the garmin app or how did u handle it?!
@TheJabberTech Thank you! Somehow I missed that. Btw, amazing review. Although it is an older model, I just bought my first Garmin watch. And your review made me convinced during deciding which watch.

Does it have the same problem with ABC like the 5X where the Altitude, Barometer, Temperature sensor fail after few months? I had to swap my old 5X about 9 times under warranty because of this Altimeter, Barometer, Temperature failure issue.
@@TheJabberTech This is exactly what happened, although Garmin has exactly everything I need in fitness watch and I never seen any watch like it, but after last time I requested a refund and not a replacement because I prefer that the option doesn't exist to be there and faulty. Then I bought a Suunto 9 Baro and it was the worst watch ever by far, software wize, but hardware was good, and I still have it but I'm not happy with it at all and I would never buy Suunto again. But since Fenix 6 released I was thinking maybe they fixed that issue, the only thing I'm thinking about that maybe causes this issue is that I used to swim a lot with it (like more than 5km at a time few times a week) in the pool and the chemicals maybe helped developing this issue because I used to see the Altimeter change dramatically after I get off the pool. Hence was my question

I have a Forerunner 945, and the only major upgrade after watching this vid is the sapphire screen. This is a beautiful watch, but I will happily pass and keep my 945 for now 🙃

Stupid question: in case of being lost: does the 6x have a home option to route you back to safety? I know the maps. But each GPS I own has a home location.
So far the best review but, the watch you reviewed is 6X pro Sapphire or 6X Sapphire ? Just ordered 6X Pro sapphire, 51 mm case diameter. Do you mind me asking what face watch you’re having on yours? Regards, Florin
Appreciate it thanks! Its the 6x sapphire. Sadly from over 2 years ago I don't remember the watch face but check the description as I usually put it there
I’m thinking 2021 there will be the Fenix 7 - prob expensive in comparison but Fenix 6s sapphire reads very well - battery life, ability to play music without phone, has map options, run dynamics with foot pod (still not sure if this required as you tube review not highlighting this) & the sapphire scratch resistant screen - the 945 is all plastic and the 745 although newer has the coach training built in but the shocking battery hence making the watch features worse. I’m thinking the Fenix 7 will prob include this run coach option and be better to wait for with fantastic battery and the health monitoring features too? The forerunner 920 I have is old now but still works great - just wait for new release 2021?
Garmin 6 Saphire vs Garmin 6x Pro. Which one I should buy? I am aware that the saphire glass is better quality, but is it worth the extra cash? Or should I buy the 6x Pro and buy a screen protector for it?
I went with the 6X Pro with a screen protector. It was about an extra €150 for the Sapphire. I don't see the point. The Gorilla glass screen is clearer too even with the screen protector. I also use one of those plastic cases which protects the bezel. I guess it also protects the screen a little indirectly. It does make the watch look cheap though. Hi Jabber, thank you for the nice review. Want to buy a Fenix 6, just cant decide between the Fenix 6 Pro and the Fenix 6x pro. Mainly size wise. Cause since corona and not being able to try the wathces on, I am scared that the 51mm Fenix 6x Pro would be too big on my 7 inch wrist. Thats why I am at the moment more on the Fenix 6 Pro side. What would you say? Thanks in advance and keep up the good work :)
This a pro version? How you find the tracker face? Lag?

Only problem with the watch is, it DOES NOT play all mp3 files for some reason ! And that is mega mega annoying. I have all my songs on my laptop in mp3 format, then I transfer them to my watch and when i listen to my music, always is the same problem. 5... songs play perfect and then the next song doesn't play -it's just silence. And I need to skip that song manually in the watch, from headphones, the watch doesn't allow to skip that song.
Thanks man, great review. The independent wifi for music thing is a bit annoying, but you should be able to create a wireless hotspot on your phone and do it that way right?
Hi Jabber Tech, Thanks for your videos! I have an Apple Watch series 5 but I am thinking of getting a proper fitness watch. Is it still worth buying the fénix 6 pro? Any other recommendation at this point in time?
Does it have a cover on the charge port? I hope so because the charge contacts on my 5X corroded, now it can’t charge. That’s why I’m thinking about the 6x.
Yes it does. But you’ll need to pay for sportify premium or Deezer or Amazon music. Sportify is about $10 a month, you will get one month free. I chose Amazon Music whic is cheaper... $7 per month Amazon Prime will include Expedited delivery , discounted prices on many items and Amazon Music.
What was the brightness level of your 6X set to in the video? I just sent back my 6X sapphire today as in a dark environment even at 5% brightness the screen had a very washed out pink hue to it making the blacks look very washed out with hardly any colour on the screen. Needless to say if I put the brightness to 20% it made things even worse. Interested in your thoughts!
Jabber Tech I’d love it if you make a video of your watch showing the backlight at 20% brightness in a dark environment as yours looks way better than mine. It would give me piece of mind that I done the right thing sending it back (which was a shame as it was a nice watch) but I know the backlight was not acceptable for a expensive item.
Hi love the your reviews I love the garmin fenix 6x sapphire would you use it as just a smartwatch the reason I'm asking I've been diagnosed with copd so I need a good watch that can do my heart monitoring and also pulse ox I've looked at your gamin videos and love them all so would you advise that the fenix 6x sapphire would be an ideal watch for what I want I await your reply
I have two questions for you, 1. How well do you think it would hold up to a warzone/desert environment? Since you've had a hands on look at this watch. 2. Do you happen to know of any smart watches that are not fitness orientated?
It should work out best for that environment. It's not a question of which smartwatch isn't fitness oriented, it's more like which smartwatch actually is fitness oriented. They all try to sell the fitness aspect but don't do it well.. Looking at all Samsung watches and a lot of WearOS watches
Jabber Tech right on thanks for the reply. I have a Samsung one but for whatever reason I don’t get notifications anymore, which I read is a common issue. So I’m looking out for a new one. One with compass, barometric pressure, temp, chemical and shock resistant, and of course receive notifications lol.

Just be carfull buying this watch now there is a bad batch going around with faulty screens, where when back light comes on it turns blue n contrast is terrible i had to send 2 back in less then 2 days
The reason for connection to wifi to download music is because even fast bluetooth is slow. You should however be able to do just fine with your phone if you enable personal hotspot. I have same hotspot name/password on my phone as at home then it's very easy just take various devices on the go without having to reconfigure.
@@TheJabberTech It is not uncommon for big mainstream companies to deliberately omit features that are at risk for being slow, cumbersome and/or hotline intensive to have - leaving it for the small niche companies with tech savy users. Sometimes it's over all better just to omit a feature than having a ton of negative reviews complaining about it being slow. In some bluetooth revisions devices can establish connection over bluetooth but then use wifi to transfer data. That however requires support which not all phones have. So less negative reviews about a slow feature even though it's the users fault using lower end equipment and less calls to hotline. The tech savy people just turns on personal hotspot on phone and get over it.
You didn't show what happens when you answer the call on your watch and you didn't clarify that this watch cannot be used for answering calls and will not work for calls or text if it is not within Bluetooth distance of your mobile phone.
Thanx for a great video. I use an Apple Watch 24-7 for just about everything, but I recently have been looking at the Fenix 6X as an fitness watch only, what is your opinion of having two watches, how is the fitness functionalities on the Fenix compared to the Apple Watch? I ride MTB, take powerwalks, some weight lifting and plan to start running. The Apple Watch is pretty good for my needs, but I am an statistics nerd and thinking of buying a Fenix to use just for training and not as a smart watch.
In my opinion it just depends. Use the Fenix as a fitness watch and use the Apple Watch to track what it can and use other apps. You can use the Apple Watch for the functions the Fenix doesn’t provide which for me would be communication, other alerts and info. If it’s an Apple Watch that has cellular you can leave your phone home if you go running and don’t want to carry a phone around but still want comms. I’m a stat/data nerd too and will be using both. LoL.
@@Hyper_Driven do you use them at the same time? 🙂 My thoughts is to in that case keep on using my Apple Watch for daily/nightly use and switch to Garmin for my mtb-rides, runs and powerwalks.

Glad you enjoyed it! Check video description usually it's there
Hi Jabber, thank you for the nice review.
Did you buy it
Ordered one today. I bought the coros Apex Pro recently, but its just not robust enough.
What is the difference between 6x and 6x pro solar?
Thanks man, great review. The independent wifi for music thing is a bit annoying, but you should be able to create a wireless hotspot on your phone and do it that way right?
You probably could but why make it so difficult
I am using garmin 945 now a legendary gps watch, they are almost the same as this fenix 6x
Hi Jabber Tech, Thanks for your videos! I have an Apple Watch series 5 but I am thinking of getting a proper fitness watch. Is it still worth buying the fénix 6 pro? Any other recommendation at this point in time?
You can't go wrong with the F6 series .
Jabber Tech can go?
Typo.. Can't go wrong 😂
Jabber Tech hahaha thanks!!!
Does it have a cover on the charge port?
I hope so because the charge contacts on my 5X corroded, now it can’t charge.
That’s why I’m thinking about the 6x.
nope.
the music works with spotify?
Yes
That's strange for sure. My brightness level is at 20%
Jabber Tech I’d love it if you make a video of your watch showing the backlight at 20% brightness in a dark environment as yours looks way better than mine.
Does the watch show the distance from an indoor activity (cross trainer or indoor bike) when you manually enter it in the app after the activity?
Very close on a treadmill
How to set 1KM in mobile apps in my phone I have seen 1.61km I think it’s converted 1mile= 1.61km how to set 1KM
Have you tried the Heathered bracelet? What are your thoughts on that?
I've never tried it
Great Review! Thank you. Which watch face is this?
Appreciate it! Check description 👍
@@4BlueDrummer Have a look at suunto they have a watch dedicated for military, shooters etc it is called a traverse alpha that might suit your needs if youre banging about or on tough terrain.
Hope this helps.
@@4BlueDrummer you could also look at garmins watch for the military (Garmin Tactix Delta) ;)
btw they also have models specifically for pilots (D2 air), sailers (quatix), diving (descent), golf (marq or approach) and more...
12:29. “I don’t use it for sleep tracking but if you want to, THEN this is the right watch for you.”. 😂 Bro, if you never use it, how would you know? Excellent review otherwise ✊
Hi, whats the name of the watchface? Thanks
No idea 💡
Did you check video description
Hey man i know its been a while, just got my fenix 6 solar pro, but i got a problem in syncing my garmin to iphone for my notifications specially my sms, WhatsApp fb etc :(
That sucks man..I don't use iphones so can't really help
@@TheJabberTech ill try with my note 9
$399 at Amazon now.
Yeah I seen that and think it’s a steal tbh. I have a Venu 2 for $318 but seeing the 6x is $350 off it’s def a steal. I’m returning my venu 2 and buying the fenix 6x! Did you buy the watch?
@@devin9748 No. It doesn't have a touchscreen and apparently can only display 3 colors, black, gray, and red. Seems a lazy design.
@@MrWhaatay ah I see. You have a watch in mind that your gonna purchase?
@@devin9748 No. Just gonna keep my $38 Timex watch
@@devin9748why fenix 5x plus 425 more expensive with fenix6 x 330
Just be carfull buying this watch now there is a bad batch going around with faulty screens, where when back light comes on it turns blue n contrast is terrible i had to send 2 back in less then 2 days

Is the fenix 6x sapphire has a WiFi is it differ than the 6x pro or it is already a pro ?
Hi, thank you for the review.
Do you still using it? How is the dlc Bezel doing after 1 year in terms scratches? Does it still looking fine?
Still great.yiu can see it here th-cam.com/video/1HI09JdmUSg/w-d-xo.html
Do you know if Garmin will sell or send a different bezel, I have the fenix 6 solar but I'd like to have the marq or tatix bezel.
They will not
which is better aka what's the difference between 6X PRO and 6X Sapphire? Thank you :)
never owned the Pro model, sorry. Check out garmin.com for details on both
I just bought the 5x plus at 509.99 from my bike shop I'm still trying to figure out the difference between 5x and 6x
I hear ya. Made a video about that th-cam.com/video/okpZ8btlxrE/w-d-xo.html
@@TheJabberTech thank you!!!!
The reason for connection to wifi to download music is because even fast bluetooth is slow. You should however be able to do just fine with your phone if you enable personal hotspot. I have same hotspot name/password on my phone as at home then it's very easy just take various devices on the go without having to reconfigure.
I have other watches that transfer over bluetooth, slow or not..should be a feature on a $1000 watch
Wayyy to much to read bruh. You obviously care about it more than I do. 🤣🤣

is that nice blue strap a standard option?
No it's extra. th-cam.com/video/Re5vWoL48hc/w-d-xo.html
Hey jabber were do u get the color straps at?
Amazon
Jabber Tech do you remember the name of the straps

Jabber Tech thank you 🙏🏼
You didn't show what happens when you answer the call on your watch and you didn't clarify that this watch cannot be used for answering calls and will not work for calls or text if it is not within Bluetooth distance of your mobile phone.
Battery life with heart rate monitor always turned on?
yes
Can I use that also in swimming training ?
100%
Thanx for a great video. I use an Apple Watch 24-7 for just about everything, but I recently have been looking at the Fenix 6X as an fitness watch only, what is your opinion of having two watches, how is the fitness functionalities on the Fenix compared to the Apple Watch? I ride MTB, take powerwalks, some weight lifting and plan to start running. The Apple Watch is pretty good for my needs, but I am an statistics nerd and thinking of buying a Fenix to use just for training and not as a smart watch.
Appreciate it! Never used an apple watch sorry
Why don’t u just use a Fitbit when u train and when you’re done put the Apple Watch back on?
@@Darkangel-sw9lm Because I need a big Screen, ruggedness, sensors and a lot of statistics. I think the fitbit is too simple, too small and not a training/fitness device.
One needs The electric Hammer to go along with this beautiful watch.
Great review dude. So can you talk on the watch if somebody calls you or do you have to use your phone. Also where is the link for the blue band and exact color it looks great.
Appreciate it! Nope, no speaker or mic on the watch, you have to utilize your phone for calls.
I like the blue band as well.. Check it out here! th-cam.com/video/Re5vWoL48hc/w-d-xo.html
@@TheJabberTech so no Dick Tracey experience.
Nope, if you want that, buy an Apple Watch.
What's the colour called of the bezel mate is it matte black
Not matte black at all
More of a silverish grey
How's the HR sensor on this? I have the Vivoactive 4 and the HR sensor is incredibly inaccurate. Killer review! That blue band is killer.
It's been awesome for me
