I love Sonic Adventure, 1 & 2 both. I don't care if they're janky, and I genuinely liked all the campaigns, even Big's, even though yeah Sonic's is the best. Only thing I was sad about 2 is that it didn't had the world exploration part that I really liked in 1.
Besides being a bad port it's also important to note that the Dreamcast came out in Japan almost a year before the west...this is a 20 year old port...of a 25 year old game. SADX came out a year after Super Mario Sunshine...SA Dreamcast in Japan was the same year as Gex 2 and was developed alongside of Ocarina of Time, the concept of Z targeting is only 32 days older than Sonic Adventure.
Sonic Adventure was never a bad game infact it was a very lovebell game, until SA DX came out, and then people started shitting on the game and start saying ''Sonic's ruff transation to 3D'' just because they didn't play the original Sonic Adventure and thought that what Sonic Adventure looked like, long story short don't play Sonic Adventure DX play the original or if you don't own a dreamcast play Sonic Adventure DX but not normally play ot with mods that make the game look and feel like the Dreamcast version
When I was a kid I loved DX so when I play it today on PC I install all the fixes and mods but I keep the DX models. I just still love playing it on my Gamecube since I can connect it to my GBA tiny chao garden and all that
The only reason people think it's bad is because it was janky but of course if you compare it to modern games it will seem worse. If they remade it from ground up with one of these new engines it would easily clear most of the newer games. Also what was bad about Tails campaign it was Sonics with a speed run element.

Hmm, I didn't seem to have all these glitches on my version of Sonic Adventure DX? Is my copy personalized? The Sonic Heroes insert was funny.

I love Sonic but… Adventure is a 5/10 game. Adventure 2 is like a 4, but I have a lot of nostalgia for it, I won’t lie.
