Megaman Legends is the best series of games in the franchise, I'm surprised they stopped making these. Cel-shading is perfect for the art style, and these old games even hold up today with their artistic charm and story.
The fact that the cutscene for joining Tron is the "Theme of Love" from the first game is hilarious! This is an awesome find and I had no idea about any of this for the series. I just want my trilogy collection remaster already!

As far as I remember, I don't recalled such use of camera in the main game. 7:03 The use of anime FX background is pretty new as well, which again, don't recalled ever been used in the main game. Overall, this Episode 1 story contents has strong anime experience and presentation that feel missing in the main game.
On the back of the game case, there is a photo of a spot never seen in the actual game, and I always wondered about it as a kid. Over 20 years later, I finally am learning where that mysterious screenshot came from.
As an avid legends fan from childhood, I played the games when they were new, legends 3 was a travesty. The entire premise they were launching was 0% what I wanted from 3. I don’t want to play other people. I don’t care about new characters like that. I’m there for megaman, roll and the bonnes. I understand teisel has to be recast but that doesn’t change my stance. I’m glad that the 3 they were gonna give us got cancelled and while I doubt we ever get 3 now, I hope if we do they scrap every bit of what they had and start over.

0:40 - Oh my god! You actually just made me realize that the very first ever game that I ever played on the Playstation when I was 4 was the Mega Man Legends 2 demo disc. I remember it being so hard and only having 3 bosses! I eventually had to give the disc back to my neighbor because I guess it was borrowed and I had asked what the game was, and they said " Uh its a Megaman game". They had also let me borrow Mega Man X4 seeing as I liked Mega Man and eventually got my grandparents to buy me a Mega Man game. My grandparents never actually buying me Mega Man Legends 2 or Mega Man X4, but buying me every other Mega Man game in a random order. I got Mega Man 8, then Mega Man X5, then Megaman X6, Mega Man Legends, then finally Mega Man X4 on the Playstation. Fast forward 15 years and I have played basically every Mega Man out there that has released in the US except Mega Man Legends 2, so I finally bought it and I thought I had deja vu because I had vaguely remembered fighting these bosses before, but I chalked it up to it to my brain being nostalgic and giving me fake memories. I typed all of this just to say THANK YOU!!! All this time I was looking for my White Whale of a game that, coincidently, was the last game in the entire franchise that I played, and it felt so off because I played the motherflippen DEMO!!!
That whole scene with Tron and Trigger just "in love" and Trigger just opens fire was too damn funny Also demo discs were soo badass when they started coming out at the end of 01. I at one point with help of my cousin had a huge collection from the 01-04 at one point cause we both loved em. It really was cool to play a lot of games as demos to go on to see them explode with success and all the cool behind the scene videos. I'll forever be thankful for experiences like being 9 years old in 2001 when playing the oct 01 demo with cool boarders 2001 and hearing fear factory's genetic blueprint song for the first time. Being a dumb kid and never buying cool boarders 2001 I didn't know the name of the song or artist and that song would pop into my head from then until I got around to finding it as a young adult and getting into fear factory lol. And then you get gems like this. Ty for sharing.

I was never good at playing the main Megaman games and then I played the Legends series and instantly fell in love. I really miss these games and I hope we can a port, remake or sequel one day.

I still find it interesting that Rock Volnutt has a blue eyecolor instead of green like in the game. Not going on a Sonic style debate here but I always found it confusing. Wish I had picked up Tron Bonne when I had the chance, getting the game on disc these days is downright impossible.

I remember coming across a random video that showed the last part with subtitles a long time ago, I think it might still be on TH-cam as well, and the unreleased city appeared on Capcom's V Jump 1998 show, which a video also just randomly appeared recently on TH-cam, what a coincidence. I didn't know about the chapter 1 stuff till I got the mega man legends psp collections, widescreen was nice too. Was the first psp games I installed on a modded PS3. Was cool to play on a tv with a PS3 controller for the time. Wish the psp editions had made it to the usa in English, but never did.

The demo you showed for the dungeon seems to have become the Megaman Legends 2 License upgrade gauntlet, with some changes, as some of those parts in the demo has been moved to the Frog dungeon, and some are parts of the underwater level. I remember because of the enemy placements and the cramped space where that tall shock enemy appears.

wow, i remember vaguely hearing about this. except i recall a lack of context or detail. for example i recall being shown that Tronn & Volnutt cutscene and was told its a removed cutscene from Legends 2, and i just never looked in to it cuz it was a LONG time ago and i didnt use the internet for research yet.😅 also fuck yeah Duckstation. it is criminally overlooked when it is the best PS1 emulator i have seen. i do believe this is the first mention ive seen of it outside of a twitter post from a youtube reviewer i follow.

In all seriousness, my copy unfortunately was bought from a rental store, so I don't have the demo disc to begin with- I'd only heard about it secondhand, so I was under the impression all versions had the prologue content. This makes the pain of not having the demo sting a little less (though it does still pain me that I'll never have a complete copy of MoTB).

Not sure about Legends 2 but a sealed NTSC copy of Tron Bonne is one of the more expensive PS1 games because of its limited print run
