In my trusty old ass 2007 Ford Focus MK II, I have two speaker setup. I can't even imagine complaining about 8-speaker setup, let alone 12-speaker Bose setup. Just to put things into perspective. So overall, I think I'm good and will go with the 8-speaker sport trim.
Just a note to any Android owners wanting to get one of these: the wireless Android auto is currently available, at least in the US version. However, for both Android and iPhone, the wireless auto is only available in the Touring and Sport Touring trims.
Hi Kris, thank you very much for the review. In terms of listening while driving do you feel that audio has enough power to cover road noise? (You really deserve more subscribers!)
Thank you, glad you liked the review and thanks for the kind words! Indeed, especially as the Civic isn't the best in terms of insulation at lower speeds, it means the system is more than capable of drowning out road noise.
Hi, great review! I like the sport version better visually with its black roof lining, rims and accents, and it's quite a bit cheaper. The only thing I fear I'm gonna miss out on is the speaker system. Do you think the difference is worth the trade-offs, or if it could maybe be reduced by installing an aftermarket sub? Cheers
We can't comment on aftermarket solutions, especially with the increased power output that'll be needed with the head unit, it might be a bit tricky without installing an amp. Glad you liked the review though!
My 10th gen civic sport plus came with the 11 speaker system without subwoofer. The highs and mids are fine but it was lacking bass. So i bought a JBL Basspro Micro and it's surprisingly powerfull. Also it fits nicely in the trunks rear corner because the shape of the speaker is very similar with the corner. The 10th gen and 11th gen seem to have very similar trunks so i suspect the speaker should fit also in the 11th gen. Also i just test drove the new civic sport today and the bass was ok, probably little bit better than the 10th gens 11 speaker system but maybe the highs were not just as good. but with a active subwoofer it would really be a great system. The car itself was brilliant. Clear step up from the previous version. Felt premium.
@@polikerski you're welcome, i always try to help and share my thoughts, these are after all, always big financial decisions you have to make when shopping for a new car. The only kinda negative thing that i have to say about the new sport was the drivers seat. Again just like my 10th gen you can't tilt the lower part of the seat to get more support for you thighs, not 100% sure is it's the same with the advanced versions power seats though. On longer rides my back kinda starts to hurt because of that . I've had bmw's previously and they all had that function and i loved that, so comfortable and sporty, hell even my first car e30 '87 had that function. Seats are pretty much what european manufacturers are doing better imo. Even my hobby car, an old vectra 2.5v6 sport from 2000 has recaro seats and i think they are better than what my current civic and the new sport has. But japanese cars just work..unlike my last bmw.. And there's always the new type r which has apparently the best seats in the busines as far as hot hatches go..😜
To answer your question, it is not better than the Bose in the Mazda 3. The Mazda has better clarity, cleaner and tighter bass, slightly wider but lower staging, and a higher signal to noise ratio, which means it sounds cleaner. The subwoofer in the Mazda is more noticeable, while the system in the civic relies on the door woofers to produce more bass than they should. The only thing about the civic system I prefer is the slightly higher staging. The civic's imaging is in front of your eyes, while the Mazda's imaging is at your chest. The center speaker in the Mazda does have higher imaging, though. Both systems have inferior staging than what I'm used to in my Harman Kardon system. With that system, the sound comes from above you, giving you the sensation there's speakers in the ceiling, and that the ceiling is 10 feet above you lol. My H/K system also has much wider staging, giving you the sensation you're in a large room, or the sound is coming from outside of the car. You hear speakers that are super far away from you, whereas these 2 Bose systems, the sound is primarily heard from your particular part of the vehicle, giving it a one-sided sound.
@@TotallyEVDon’t kisten the guy below. I own new Civic and also we owned mazda 3 with bose speakers. In Civic is a lot better and more power system. Mazda is also good but little less☝🏼

Interesting! Did Honda US tell you this?
For frequent highway commuters, I would choose a quieter set of tires. The 18" Michelin pilot sportcontact 4 is the major contributor to noise.
Tyres will certainly help!
But traction is great!

Nice review and nice song! Centerpoint makes some small difference I see!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it!
YOU GUYS GET A PANORAMIC ROOF IN THE HATCH MODEL?!
Is it possible to install the Bose system speakers in the type R or is the head unit different
Not sure, sorry!

Thanks for sharing, but any insight on needing more power to feed the more powerful sub?
