  • I'm the guy known for saying death note is trash. While I don't agree with that claim anymore, I still think there are issues with Death Note that are easily overlooked, and by looking at Bakuman we can get a better view at how the author writes stories.
Fuck Shueisha. I had to completely remove all scenes from the Bakuman anime from this video because even a frame from the anime would get the video blocked. I don't like how much I use manga panels in this video, but this is the only way I can ensure this video stays up. I'm sorry.

I find it funny that you felt compelled to make a video in which you apologize for saying death note is trash. I definitely disagree with your take in the previous video but I appreciate you expressing that take. I think you could have delivered that message without saying death note is trash as a result, but you understand this.
I also find it funny that no one has seen this compared to your other video.
Anyway it doesn’t really matter. Say whatever you want and you are allowed to grow and change your opinions. You shouldn’t be beholden to something you said once upon a time that you no longer feel.
You seem like a much more reasonable and chill dude in this video haha.

Look up this theory: 'Aya Hirano's Scandal is the inspiration for the final arc of Bakuman'

Watching the old death note vid compared to this one was like night and day lol but no matter how trash people think death note is, nothing will be as bad as death note (2017).

It's amazing that there is no season 2 if Promised Neverland. Just like One Punch Man, it's so strange to not capitalize on the success of such a popular story. Oh well.

tbh i never noticed a drop in quality. whenever things started to get boring there would always be some new concept to make it enjoyable. but that's just how I enjoyed it.

It’s sad these mental battle anime start to drop off the more complex the story gets. The more added into the story it almost becomes less compelling and more scattered. Maybe it speaks to the limitations of the brain and how it can even handle making a complex story in a battle of the minds that still feels like it’s always 1-2 steps ahead of you
Mind u I love death note just got hurt all over again watching that bitch over getting pissed off all over again smh

I love and hate critics. It's all opinions nothing about media is objective but I find the more critical you get of media the more likely you fall into contrarianism or analyzing specific aspects pointing out flaws without realizing strengths in those things that may be flawed in repetition or other reasons but if you take a deeper look work well for the story or experience it's trying to deliver. A lot of that comes down to personal tastes but I do still think you become enough of a media critique you end up missing the forest for the trees in more scenarios. And tbf, it's more just things that work perfectly fine for the media but have things one could reasonably dislike if they have a preference. It's honestly fine because it's personal preference but I find from what I've seen of your ten or so video titles and this one I watched I can tell you go very in depth and to that end fall into traps that can be valid but miss a point or two. That being said I don't have an issue with the points in this video. I personally think bakuman contains a consistent quality throughout it's run but I don't have an issue with you disagreeing. I just looked at your channel after watching this video and noticed a theme in people who go hard into media analysis that I find can often be faulty even if well reasoned

No matter what anyone says the second half of the show was such a drag. Who are these useless characters? Why are they being introduced? Though the show started off great the ending third was was absolutely trash lmao
You don’t seem follow the nostalgic opinion of everyone around you, so could you recommend some anime? I loved Samurai Champloo, movies like Your Name, and shows like Demon Slayer. Can you recommend me movies shows or short series that is easy to get into? Thanks!

Chainsaw Man is the best thing currently airing. A Silent Voice is my favorite anime movie of all time. The Promised Neverland season 1 is 10/10 (treat it like a single season show, don't bother with season 2). Odd Taxi is tight as hell. I'd have to think more for better recs (might do a quick video at some point on some of my faves) but there's just a few off the dome.

I really liked the end of Bakuman personally, I just loved seeing how the Antagonists and Power Scaling worked in the show
