Hi Skinny mama! You and I were cut from the same cloth, spices! I love them, all of them! You can take something blah! Put some seasoning, or alot of seasoning And its glorious! I'm adding these to my pantry! Another great one! God Bless, xoxoxo
Whippoorwill Holler I do too! if a recipe says 1 tspoon of a spice, i use 2 lol (especially garlic or cumin♥️😂) I just can't stand blah food!! especially since losing my appetite from the chemo...food must be really tasty and vibrant for me to enjoy it. 🥘
These are wonderful spices Vicki, tha k you so much. I use them all the time & it's so nice to know that now I can mix up my own! God bless you girl. So glad that I have found all you ladies. What a blessing🥰🥰
I use these seasonings so much. Ran out of Cajun seasoning, not anymore😊😊 Thank you so much Miss Vickie. Lots of love and please keep giving. I know I will never get tired of you ❤
I am married to an Italian, but I learned this making Mexican food growing up, using a molcajete to grind cumin (comino). I still use the molcajete for that, but I also use a mortar and pestle for other herbs and spices.
Hello dear friend! I am so happy you shared these recipes. We love cajun food and happy to have these recipes. You are correct that adding seasonings and spices are so helpful. Once upon a time, long ago, we visited someone who didnt understand this and just heated up a can of green beans for us. While we were grateful for that, it drove the point home how beneficial (and easy) it is to “spice up” our food. Thanks for sharing! You look great! Love u kt
Hi Vickie, Just headed over from Katie’s Channel!! What a great collab. Love your Cajun mix. What a great pantry staple to have on hand. Love that it’s homemade. So much better than store bought. Hope you are doing well. Let me know next time you are in Texas. Katie is here now and we’re going to get together soon for a visit. I am still recovering from foot surgery. Can you believe it!! It has take so long but I am finally able to get a shoe on. Beats a,ways having to go around with a “boot”. LOL!! You look amazing. I am so thrilled that the Keto program is working so well for you. I am such a Keto drop out...LOL!!! I am so on again off again. LOL!! But keep up the great work. I don’t always get a chance to comment but I am loving the recipes you share. Love to you and your sweet family, Mary❤️😘❤️
Hi Mary! Thank you! I’m glad to hear you are on the mend. When I broke my ankle, it was so hard to do anything! But I did discover the knee scooter, and that sure got me around! Yes, the diet can be hard at times, but we are motivated! Love you!
Both of these spice mixes will be showing up in my spice cabinet, as will the lemon pepper. Thank you so much. I am getting an order together foe Azure Standard as you are the second person that highly recommends them. BTW your new hair style is darling.
Thank you sweet lady. I live next door to Louisiana so I will be making the Cajun for sure. Homemade is so much better for us😉. Great video! God bless ya🥰
We lived south of Houston for a while, and had some really good Cajun food, both there and Louisiana. Now I have to make my own. Thank you, and God Bless!
I love making my own spice blends. I can't remember the last time I bought a pre-made one. And best not to tempt yourself. I do paleo/low-carb, but my husband does not. I'll make treats and such for him, and he can take them to work. That way he gets them, the co-workers enjoy them, and I don't have them in the house ;)
I am planning on ordering the lemon powder from Azure Standard is there anything else you like ordering from them. I understand their sourdough starter is wonderful but I already have my own wild starter that I cultured knowing that if it didn't work out Azure would be my backup. These mixes you are making up will allow me to stick with all organic ingredients so I really appreciate what you ladies are doing.
I love the lemon powder! I also buy bulk dried minced garlic from them, and it is much less expensive than the small bottles at the store. I buy most of my grains, and some flour from them, supplements for us and our dogs, and I usually discover new things every month. Thank you so much for watching!
In our home, you cant have enough garlic in things. There are times we go through a LOT of garlic. I started making a lot of my own season mixes in the last few years because of food allergies. I used to do them a long time ago because it was cheaper, then I got lazy.
Looking forward to making your Seasoning Salt spice, cajun is too spicy for my digestion though! Where did you get your metal measuring spoons that have 2 measures on each colored handle? Thanks for your recipe! Would you happen to know the Recipe for the McCormicks "Salt and Spice" that was retired years ago? My family and I miss it very much! Thanks!
Thank you! This is an Amazon Affiliate link for the measuring spoons: amzn.to/2wHQ880. I loved them so much, that I sent Mrs. Lori at Whippoorwill Holler a set! I have never used that blend, but I found this recipe on the McCormick web site: www.mccormick.com/recipes/other/salt-and-spice-blend. Hope this helps!
I would like to, but having a full time business, and I edited and uploaded this video as I made body butter for an order, and packed to leave for an anniversary trip, immediately after this uploaded.
Hi Vickie 😺 great season is blends! gonna try them for sure! You girls in the U.S all use a lot of dried herbs n spices ...just wondering? what country is your garlic & onion powders grown & processed from? Why i'm asking is because here in australia most garlic products sadly come from china!! even the fresh bulbs....the perfectly formed snow white (bleached) pre packaged bulbs are from china, i have found some fresh from mexico. But the majority of dried & garlic powder on our shelves is from china...I won't buy it because you just don't know what's been sprayed on it or the soil? So i've been buying Aussie garlic from our seconds section in the produce dept. They sell odd shaped fruit & vegies, ones with slight blemishes etc. I am going to look online for garlic powder from Australia , or anywhere but china!! 🤨 🧄
Hi Del, I get my garlic and onion powders from California. I really don’t like getting the ones from China, and fortunately that is one thing I can find here. We do have to watch out for the fresh bulbs, but most of our grocery stores have learned that we don’t want the garlic and onions grown in China.
Vickie's Country Home you're lucky having U.S grown garlic & onion powders. I've heard other woman rave about the garlic powder from california!! supposed to be such a great roasted garlic taste. We are like you guys & have garlic on everything!! ( well nearly 😸) xx
I found Australian grown garlic power & other garlic products from our Kangaroo Island....I'm soo glad that i went hunting! Kangaroo island was hit hard by the bush fires 🔥 and suffered greatly but luckily are still in business, i'm really glad to support this aussie owned & grown family business! Just placed my order 👍🏻

I think we are cut from the same cloth! Love good tasting food!

especially since losing my appetite from the chemo...food must be really tasty and vibrant for me to enjoy it. 🥘
Thank you for the seasoning recipes. I just looked at my season salt in my cupboard. Sugar is the second ingredient. I am going to try your recipe.

I LOVED seeing you use your hands to ground your spice. I'm Italian an that's how I was taught but I've never seen anyone else do it. Thank you!!!
I am married to an Italian, but I learned this making Mexican food growing up, using a molcajete to grind cumin (comino). I still use the molcajete for that, but I also use a mortar and pestle for other herbs and spices.
Thanks for the great mixes. I have one that we use almost every day, 2 T garlic powder, 1 T salt, 1/2 T parsley. Hope you have a blessed day!
🤗
Thank you 💜💜💜for the recipes. I am definitely going to make up & put in my spice cupboard. God bless🙏.

Thank you!
I'm here via Miss Lori at Whippoorwill.
Welcome!
Hey lady bug! Where did you get your mortar and pestle? Beautiful.
I believe I may have found that at World Market years ago!
I love making my own spice blends. I can't remember the last time I bought a pre-made one. And best not to tempt yourself. I do paleo/low-carb, but my husband does not. Fortunately we are both doing the diet together, so it makes it easier. But I sure would be tempted!

I will be making the seasoned salt - lettuce and greens are growing and shouting at me to pick them for a fresh salad for lunch.
🤗
I wish there were a written recipe that I could screenshot and make
Thank you for the recipes, I’m definitely going to make these! 🥰
Enjoy! 🤗

You NEVER have enough garlic! 😂
Thank you; Ms Vickie love your recipe. Kim Crawford
You are welcome Kim!
Could you maybe put these recipes in your description? Thank you!

I do when time allows, but I run a full time business, so sometimes that just isn’t possible. Thank you for watching!
Love these recipes! ❤❤❤ I love more paprika and cumin so i love making my own so i can adjust to my preference! 😁 Great video!
That is the best part of making your own mixture! You can make it to suit your own taste! Enjoy!
