Definitely HAVE TO tuck these away, cuz they will be in my cabinet as soon as I get moved. To do much for sharing these, you have made my life so much easier, and cheaper, and healthier than my store bought routine. I'm still transitioning, and I want to say again how much I appreciate how much you are helping me. Thank you, and may God bless you and your family sweetie 💙💙

I've actually scheduled a day next week to go through my herbs and spices to see what we're low on, refresh my seasoning mixes and all of that. I bet mushroom powder would be awesome in that beef gravy. I got some Worcestershire powder after watching some Pit Masters and how they were saying they put it in their rubs and even horseradish powder. My grandma used to say that Kitchen Bouquet was the secret to her brown gravy. I'm totally adding the Au gratin to my list.

@@TinaKilcup10 If you dry mushrooms to make your own mushroom powder, I strongly recommend shitake mushrooms for the flavor or half shitake and half baby bells to keep the cost down. You will find the best price on shitake mushrooms in any good oriental market.

I just really appreciate your videos - this one especially because there's so many different ways to use these mixes. When I made a beef gravy mix, I used a 1/2 tsp. of Instant coffee granules, for a richer beef gravy flavor. I'll grind the Instant coffee, and add to gravy flour mix. I like it that way. I add instant coffee granules, not a whole bunch of it, to make gravy mix for Swedish Meatballs.

Hey Jeni, I found a dry pork base in a local Asian market , and used your beef gravy dry mix as a base, swapping out the Marjoram for Coriander. I used those pork gravy packets for a long time, to make a gravy for egg foo young, doctoring them up with soy sauce and oyster sauce. and for my pork chow mein stir fry. I'm thinking it would also work great for pork chops or a pork roast as well... Thank you for the inspiration, and for your efforts... Much appreciated!!!

I made the scalloped potato mix today. Then proceeded to make the scalloped potatoes for dinner. They turned out so good. I have two pints of the mix in my pantry now and will continue to enjoy it. Thank you. Going to try the rest of the mixes this week

I just made the scalloped potatoes with the cheese sauce. It turned out really good. I vacuum sealed three packs for my pantry. I have quite a bit of cheese sauce that I thought I could use for macaroni and cheese. 😄

You can also add soya sauce to darken it.

I'm loving these videos on DIY mixes!! I'm trying to make healthier, less expensive, more convenient meals for my family and these should really help. May I suggest something ... I have a small family and we may not go through a mix fast enough... so if a recipes has a "limited" shelf life, such as if it includes buttermilk power (good for 6 months) ... could you please include that in the recipe?? I'd only make 1/2 the recipe in that case... TY for your great videos, I really learning a lot 😊 💕

Jeni have you ever browned all purpose flour in a dry skillet in the oven? I keep a jar of browned flour in my pantry to darken gravy. I brown flour at around 400 degrees for about an hour or until it is as dark as you want. Stir pretty often as it browns.
