@@ATigerShark right now I have 3 aurora variants, a mustang beta and 2 100i variants. and tried other bunch. The only ships with QT drive I can spawn in outposts is the 100i series, Pisces, Razor (not certain about this one) and the Talon for some reason.
The firepower is fine if it’s priced less than or equal to the avenger. The titan does have better cargo though because the intrepid has 2 size 4 scu cargo bays while the avenger has 1 size 8 scu cargo bay allowing the avenger much more flexibility in what it transports. The avenger does have a few amenities, but I suppose this has more. Biggest advantage to me is having a suit locker, armory, and more than double the avenger’s fuel range. It could possibly see use as a long range escort fighter, sacrificing a bit of punching power for the fuel range to escort haulers.
The Hornet Mk2 line was planned by CIG from the beginning. It was not a spur of the moment- easy fix for updates or cash grab. Inforunners and/or Astropub mentioned this at some point.
Thanks for your effort and your opinion! With "Pyro just around the corner" i took a closer look at the amount of quantum those ships can carry. I was surprised to see that only the Rambler can hold 1.5scu. That's a reason to ditch my pisces expedition, even though i'm gonna miss 2 of my 4 scu.
Oh don't get me wrong, I'd pick the rambler over the pisces expedition any day because it's better for me in many ways. Just didn't want someone to murder a usable ship because of a mechanic that will change soonTM 👍 o7
Turns out you were pretty much right on the money with pricing. I love this ship for its utility. Not a huge fan of the design externally but the interior is very well thought out. The gun racks, those awesome little cubbies for the 3 1/8 scu boxes, the 1.5 scu personal storage over the bed. If I had a complaint about this ship, it’s that it is unfairly OP in the QT fuel department compared to other starters. Seems like the latest iteration of 4.0 is showing the following: Intrepid - 1.2 Cutter - .5 Cutter rambler - 1 315p - .5 Nomad - .7 Hull A - 1.2 I disagree with these numbers so much. All the other starters are fair in their QT fuel but they fumbled with these other ships. Rambler - its whole thing was the extra range and 1.5 seemed perfect. The base cutter should be around .7. It can’t do combat. It’s not great at cargo. 315p - per CIG, it’s a pathfinder and exploration ship….with the same QT fuel as the titan, 100i, Pisces, mustang alpha, aurora. That’s silly. Nomad - this is the most upsetting of the bunch really at .7??? Really, CIG? It’s 3.5m longer than the Intrepid, slightly wider. The Nomad’s whole thing is truly solo ship that can do a little of everything well. Should easily match the intrepid at 1.2 but really ought to have 1.5. Hull A - cargo is literally its only thing. 1.2 is fine but 1.8- 2 is more in line with its pledge cost. Anyways, thanks for coming to my TED Talk lol appreciate the video!
@Zi-TekGaming Exactly right. I'll admit I'm heavily biased towards the Nomad despite not having it pledged. It's just such a great ship for the individual that likes to go off the beaten path. That tractor beam from the pilot's seat is superb. Wish they'd have given the Hull A a tractor beam. That would help justify that $90 entry.
I have successfully run bunkers in a C8R Pisces with either a Mirai Pulse or a 2-SCU container. I found that a 1-SCU container is more practical. Up from there, a Taurus with a N-URSA and Pulse can be fun and handy. It seems the Pulse fuel economy is terrible though.
Once you get to the 70 and above mark you really have to start thinking about getting a ccu to a Cutty. You can WB for 100. So if you get whatever smaller ship, to me once you get past 50 or 60 you really have to think about the Cutty... Even the Nomad at 80 is a real stretch. Its probably fine but getting within 20 bucs of the Cutty is nuts to me. I think all the starters are a bit overpriced.
last year i freefly with cutter and fell in love with it... but there was a deal for Mustang Alpha so i pledged... not long i was missing the interior, so i upgraded to 300i and flew it since, love this ship as solo but this year im gonna upgrade it or swap it for intrepid, totally fell in love with intrepid interior and also exterior with that size 4, it would be better if it had at least 2 guns or size 2 missiles but i like the design very much so its a buy for me, just need a window and coffee machine in it 😄
@Zi-TekGaming i just dont think i will be able to upgrade it, as starter it probably gonna br cheaper than 300i, so may need another package, will see at Friday, nice video btw!
The Intrepid? Guessing it will be more than the 300i and Titan. There is no consensus but folks are saying $70-85 and I tend to agree. WB may not make it possible but a standard will most likely be viable. If it's not that sucks for your upgrade but that means the pricing will be fantastic!
I dunno about the Intrepid... I still think the 1 size 4 weapon is too weak... I'd understand if it had a double or triple ammo capacity... Like if you could put a Revenant with 6000 rounds there - that would be interesting... :)
The Rhino seems like it fires more rapidly on this ship tbh. I should run some tests on that to see if its real or imagined. I dislike the idea of a single weapon though for sure. 2 size 3 or 1s3 and 2s2 or something could work but its tough to compare it to existing ships. The fact that it looks like a baby Ion makes me want a S5 or S6 lol.
Who cares what they like, only an idiot buys a ship based on stats, you buy a ship for its intended role...that unlike OCD stats doesn't change. So, i melted the Polaris over its dire Pilot Cockpit View, Intrepid is far superior in terms of Pilot Cockpit View.
Yeah, I sorta glossed over the missiles. They seem like more of an afterthought tbh. The ship could do without them and add a size 1 point defense on the rear and it would be like a cash tree.
The balance between these is actually very tight. Neither of those ships is a clear winner. Avenger comes close but it lacks some useful livery features that Intrepid and Nomad offer. The Syulen is the oddest design in the game, realy not for everyone but very well tailored for combat while retaining very nice interior features, and even some small cargo capacity. I think they should price the Intrepid around $75 mark for stand alone.
I had a cutter, was amazing, but really wanted more from start, managed to ccu to a C1 and was a impressive change, can do anything and the claim time is not that bad. Now I was thinking if I should CCU it to the Zeus, with all your knowledge in this game, what do you think? Is the Zeus as good as a daily driver compared to the C1? My main "fear" is the Zeus not being able to do bounties as I do with my C1... but what do you think?
Here's the differences that I've found in my limited testing of the Zeus. The C1 is a fantastic solo hauler that can manage combat in this current instance 3.24.xx. it also handles a bit better. Whenever the NPC gets turned on and can actually hit their targets, the Zeus will make a better combat case if you have a second gunner on that turret. The hauling capabilities are double the C1, provided you are talking about the CL variety. Honestly they are both great ships that have similar uses but different niches. They are nearly identical shapes and sizes so where you can land one, you can land the other. I'm probably going to end up with both before 1.0.
@@Zi-TekGaming Thank you, thats was very helpful! I'll probably keep my C1, hate that it only have 1 entrance, but, Idk if the sidegrade to the Zeus CL is worth, i think is now 35 dolars with the Warbond? What do you think? My end goal, at least for solo haulers, is the Taurus, do you think it can have a warbond on this IAE?
@xMendonzAx Taurus has had 1 WB each year since 2022 when it got a price increase. It's not any type of guarantee but I'd bet before January 2025 you'll have a Taurus WB. And probably a few in between to help you get there!

Good points but I think the shields are a bit lacking for protection duty. Then again if that's the best option for a longer flight we make due right.

Lol. These are all great points. Also the big upset imo is the Nomad. Premium starter and a $60 ship beats it in qt fuel tank. Lame lame lame
