I did this with my art supplies a few years ago. I also made a file for all of my invoices and receipts to increase awareness of the volume. Your video was so helpful. I appreciate your honesty and admire the way you analyzed your spending! You’ve got skills!
This video was very helpful in reminding me to be more mindful about my spending. I tend to be the type of person that if I like something I buy it. But then I find I am not using what I buy. That is what I need to focus on. Stationery Fest is going to be hard as it is my first event like this plus I plan to visit some of the brick and mortar stationery stores as well. Thanks again for sharing.
I think that recording what you spend, looking at the total amounts, and making sure that what you purchase is visible (encouraging usage) is oh so helpful in keeping stationery spending in check. This was such a great video! I tried to "shop my stash" this year to help me remember what I own. It is so easy to get swept in all of the new amazing things...
Great to see how you are approaching this! So organized 🤩 I think everyone has a different situation but budgeting in general is good. Because it’s easy to spend - there’s so much cool stuff! We all have to figure out what is comfortable and feasible for our hobby! And noting future purchases is helpful too, I definitely make note of that myself!
I loved this video!! I’m also wanting to be more mindful of my spending on stationary so this is pretty timely. Tracking my spending on Excel helps me too because if not, it can get out of hand really fast 😅 Thanks so much for making this video, looking forward to the Feb/March ones!
Ah this was so enjoyable to watch. I like your spreadsheet and it'll be so interesting to see what happens at the end of the year. Not necessarily to show us but for yourself. Like you said, you make change you spending or what and how you track it. Looking forward to seeing more of these videos - the mix of haul, spend a day with me was also a great touch!
I think it was really honest of you to go through your finances pertaining to stationary. I buy a lot every month too. I have not added it all up though. I am going to the Chicago Pen show this weekend and that could be dangerous. I am planning to buy at least one pen at about $300. But there will be so much more there. Thanks for the video. I really enjoyed it!❤
I did a similar tracker a couple of years ago, worked out a monthly average and set that as my (soft) budget per month. I was planning on lowering it but there are too many big releases and events this year 😅
Yes!! That's my goal to see my stationery spending habits/behaviors and then analyze and find my feasible stationery budget LOL and YES! this is my BIGGEST PROBLEM, there's too many good releases!! lol 🫠😍🤩
excited to be going to stationery fest! wheee and i love this video as i want 2 see people's stationery spending/finances as well. are you able to share your spreadsheet or at least the template of it? :D
I found this video really helpful in so many ways. I really love your content. I am planning to go to Stationery Fest this August! I'm a little nervous because I will be staying with family in New Jersey and traveling into Brooklyn from there. I'm excited to meet people!! I haven't decided yet if I will buy a 3-day pass or only go for one day. But I am leaning towards a 3-day pass because I like the flexibility. I also want to take some workshops!
This was a great video.. I actually budget on a whim.. I use the pay in 4 option and plan out the payments that way.. I need to do better.. I love your excel document and your tracking system.. it makes sense.. like all things that we do, we must be able to have a limit.. otherwise it will definitely get out of hand.. think us humans do things based off of emotions and don’t think logically a lot of the times or down the road.. Will the budgeting template be available?

@@rockypaperscissorsco YAY! I need to start tracking what I'm spending and your template looks like that will be a great way to start that.
