I made my first trip to Yoseka a couple of weeks ago. What a special place! Daisy was so sweet. Her staff, everything...just so wonderful! I absolutely agree with you too, so overwhelming. I loved your haul. Thanks so much for your content! You have one of my go-to creators for all things fountain pens! xo
I went there just before thanksgiving and it was so fun! I got my picture taken with Daisy. My husband was shocked how busy it was, with how deserted the streets were! Glad you got to go.
I’m so sorry you are sick. I love seeing your view of the inside of Yoseka! I have always loved that place. I love the look of everything in there, it was so vintage looking. I think I could spend all day in there also. Feel better soon!🌻🌻
I love seeing non-fps added to your collection, as I also have been getting more into non-fps. At first it felt a little blasphemous, as I've been quite loyal to my fps, but sometimes I really just love using a nice rollerball or ballpoint. I like the way the pages of my journal curl once they've been written on with ballpoint, which doesn't really happen when I use my fountain pens, and I like how I can feel the letters and words indented into the page, also unlike with fountain pens. That little ballpoint you got is so cute! I'm glad you're feeling better, Covid really sucks; I got it for the very first time a few months ago and felt like I'd been hit by a truck, which was strange to me because when I get sick at most I get a stuffy nose and mild headache. So happy you had fun in New York! I got quite excited when I saw you mention the Met on an Instagram post. Excited to see your next New York video! Feel better soon!
I, too, made Yoseka a (my #1) destination on my trip to NYC. I only had a few hours in rhe city including subway rides, but I made it there! Only had about 1 hour in store, and I was so excited I was not thinking straight, either. Definitely plan at least a half day is what I'd tell anyone...and bring your notebook with you to make your swatches on your own paper. I brought my weeks and still love looking at all of my notes from the various pens. So fun. I'd work for them, too, if possible! LOL. Hope you're feeling better!
Oh gosh, 1 hour must have been such a rush - but good for you for making it over there! I wish I had used my own notebook too, that's a great idea. I was just so excited to see all those different notebooks out on the table, I sort of forgot about my own, lol.
Kudos to you for making the trek to Yoseka and having a magical time in old/new haunts! 🎉 My alma mater has a loft in Tribeca; I spent as much time in Brooklyn and Manhattan’s stationery shops as I did researching and writing my thesis while there. Feel better soon, and I look forward to watching Part Two. PS High Tide (Penco) has *the cutest* stickers and analog accessories. ❤
I’m so glad to see how much you’re enjoying you Travelers Notebook. Especially after seeing how underwhelmed you were when you unboxed your first one from BK. I knew it would grow in you. 😊. I hope to visit Yoseka one day too.
So excited to see u with the travelers notebook. I love it as my Wallet for a few years now. It’s been perfection!!! Can’t wait to see how u use it. We do the same…have to visit Brooklyn and NYC about every 5 years for us. Feel better soon 😅
Oh that's so great! I'm hoping we can squeeze in another trip in a few years from now too. But, there are also so many other places I'd like to visit too!
I love this!! I would definitely want to make Yoseka a destination if I end up in New York again sometime. I’ve fallen in love with a bunch of these wonderful stationery shops from afar (and I am so glad that they take online orders!).
Fun haul. Surprised you bypassed another journal. :) They must have wonderful paper products there. No pencil case? LOL, it was fun to watch what you got, though. I myself use the Midori Fountain Pen, Pencil and Ball point with my Travellers Co Passport size. Their inserts are great with fountain pen inks. Also their plain paper is a great drawing paper so don't waste it on lists. You can get some Midori Sticky Notes and just use them inside your blank insert, simply stick them to the paper; their sticky notes are so great with all types of pens including fountain pens and I've enjoyed them in so many journals and tucked into all my books, even my bible, well worth the price tag. Also your Kaweco Brass would be perfect for that Passport TN too. Enjoy your items.
I have made several purchases from Yoseka and I also follow their TH-cam channel as well. I always make an effort to support the small businesses that are the heroes of the pen & stationery hobby! I try to spread the love around by purchasing from lots of different retailers instead of always going to the same one.
feel better! I totally understand the feeling of being overwhelmed in stores like that! I felt like that in Kinokunya in california, Dollpa also california (same trip) and when i visit sam flax in orlando... so much cool stuff, i want it all and its over whelming!!!
Wish we had a Yoseka here!! :) such a lovely shop… 😊 Ohh that’s a great idea, using the passport as a wallet, I have one and love it for drawing (their sketchbook paper it’s so good) but I haven’t use it in a while so I might try this… 😊
I live not too far from Yoseka Stationary and I can't believe that I haven't visited them yet. I had avoided traveling in general due to the virus but I'm comfortable with traveling again so It is now very high on my todo list. While i'm there I want to get one of those multi-color pens that I have seen you use. They are a really handy pen to have around. And then there's ink and paper and the list goes on lol.
I went to Yoseka when I lived in NYC in 2018 when they were a pretty small shop in a part of Brooklyn that was a little harder to get to (I think they said they'd been open for a year or so?) They were so kind and I was blown away that they had the TWSBI fountain pens to try because I had only been able to find them online. They've moved into their bigger shop in Dumbo and it's so fun to watch their online shop blow up during the pandemic. It's fun to be able to follow a little part of my experience in New York as they grow
I also had a hard time actually choosing items. It was very busy and I felt like I was taking time from other customers. I also had my husband waiting for me at the cafe next door. But I did get their tote bag and a Kaweco Pen and some other items. Wish I had time to swatch from the ink bar. I did test several pens and that was super helpful.
Hope you feel better each day. I’m going to Manhattan next week. Your video of Yoseka makes me want to go but I may not have time to get to Brooklyn. I am planning to check out the Fountain Pen Hospital and maybe the LAMY store, both in Manhattan.
I love Yoseka! I miss NYC sooooo much :/ Oh btw I also got the blue Traveler's passport size TN just last week... Ironically, I bought it specifically to journal & scrapbook my trips in 2023 to visit NYC.
Dang, so sorry to hear you got sick and hope you are soon on the mend. 🤧 Good focused haul! Yoseka stationery will be a destination someday, for sure. In the meantime, I couldn't resist online ordering a bunch of 2023 TN passport size items from Yoseka after their unboxing video because they were just so danged cute! 🧳☕✍️ The Caran d'Ache "stylo avec étui" is a classic here en Suisse 🇨🇭 with many cute colours and patterns. You definitely can get refills in smaller tip sizes.
@@adventuredenali glad you're feeling better!! Re: Traveler's Company, oh they arrived a little while ago, but of course now I'm hooked and wanting ALL the goodies. 😂

Thank you!! It really was a challenged. Some of the things I think I bought just because I wanted to buy something at Yoseka, next time I'll be a little more intentional.
