I bought a salvage 2021 ST when it had only 3K on it. Since then, I have driven it for 20K miles without any issues, using it as a daily driver. This is my first Ford car, and I'm now thinking of upgrading to an Expedition.
Excellent and instructional video, thank you. I currently drive Range Rover Sport and looking to buy 2024 or 2025 ST, does anyone have any thoughts on the two?
So basically besides a few new Tech advancements in the 25... the 24 is still worth if not just as good as 25! Interior on 25 is a bit lame compared to new vehicles with better screens and options! Come on Ford... what the heck! I'll keep my 24 until you get it right!
The 2025 model has even less space than the 2024 model when I was expecting more space in model 25. This is basically a 4 seater vehicle when you have to carry some suitcase or need to carry some other stuff like coolers etc. if you a family of 5 you can't go on vacation, field trip, or beach because you need the rear seat for the fifth person, and you have to carry the luggage and coolers etc. I can bet the Ford Taurse had more space than the Ford Explorer. You can't give a ride to the airport to a family of 4 people with this vehicle, where you put the luggage when a fifth person sitting on the third-row seat. This vehicle might be good if you are single or a couple with no kids. This is not a family vehicle anymore. I own a 2011 Explorer, and I was looking for a replacement and I am very very disappointed.
I own a 2021 ST Hybrid EU version, which seems to be better than this 2025 Version in all aspects, except the sync3, which is the only real weak point. It all comes down to the responsiveness of the touch screen (that is to be confirmed in 2025 version...) and to the improvement of the wireless support to android and apple car interface for the cellphone integration, that in my 2021 version works only through an USB cable. For the rest, the removal of the Hybrid configuration is a huge step back in technology, performance, fuel efficiency and sustainability, likely to reduce selling price. But IMHO my Explorer is a masterpiece and it competes only with the Range Rover Sport, which offer as well 7 seats and Hybrid powertrain, but at twice the price...at least in the EU...but the Explorer should not compete with Kia and Hyunday and the like...again, IMHO...
The 2025 would be my choice with it's vastly Improved interior and previous options on the 2024 Explorer ST now being standard in the 2025 ST along with the new 13,2" Digital experience infotainment screen that connects to the new driver's screen like navigation info directly in front of the driver. Now with standard towing package, rear 2nd roll window shades, power folding 3rd row seats and the blue cruise system. ST High package with red Calibers that includes a free trial to name a few included previous options that are now standard on the 2025 Explorer ST. When building on line a 2024 Explorer ST and a 2025 version. The 2025 ST MSRP was less expensive since the former option items are now standard equipment. If you include the Platinum in this conversation. The 2025 is substantially less expensive than the 2024 version.
Great insight! The upgrades in the 2025 Explorer ST, especially the standard inclusion of previously optional features, make it a compelling choice over the 2024 model. It's a smart move by Ford to enhance value for customers.
I laugh when someone uses the word "invest" when it comes to a depreciating asset like a vehicle! I drove a 2024 Explorer Limited the other day and enjoyed it.
Whether cruising around town or on road trips, I’ve always liked the older Explorers. The new ones not so much. In police work, they absolutely suck! Grossly underpowered and overladen with gear, and very little space.
I own a 2020 Explorer platinum it is the worst explorer I have ever owned. Poor fit and finish poor/ slow electronics a disappointing information system and will not buy another one. It’s been in the shop so often that I am on a first name basis with the service crew
The interior looks like an Ford Escape/Kuga, what a piece of shit Ford made on the explorer. I prefer the 2024 Explorer interior than this horribly designed interior from the refreshed explorer
Personally I own the exact red st, I like the older exterior design much better than the new one other than the certain the new front bumper and tail lights. The new grill looks like a grandpa car. I think the headlights on the previous gen look better than the new ones as well

I liked the V8 because it put out way more Co2 to help feed the plant life & trees.
You do understand there's a difference between carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide right?
Carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide are not the same
😂😂
That's all we need brighter lights to blind me!

Thank you for your kind words!
I have a 2020 ST and love it, but if in the market for a new one I would go for the 2025.
Save your money

The 2024 model is superior.

Then why are you interested in this video 😂
2020 manufacturers had too many people laid off due to covid. quality control was probably bad
Never buy first year of a new generation. It will have "bugs" that need working out.
Hey Jim, how ya been? 😂
I own a 2020 limited and it’s sick and it worked really good so idk what your talking about
Quality issue is it's down fall.
