The one thing I hate about the Explorer steering wheel, is the volume and the seat buttons are backwards. But on the Explorer at least on the 2022 ST model, the volume is on the left and the seek is on the right! Drives me knocking futs. But I do like the paddle shifters on the ST. Because whenever I want to slow down where part of my neighborhood goes downhill, I like to downshift and let the engine do some of my braking and not have to push the brakes and I can actually downshift to where it's actually working against it and slows me down and then as I get toward the bottom I shift back up to maintain my speed. Just simple things like that I've been come to enjoy with it
The ST was a all-wheel drive configuration by default. With the 3.0 twin turbo EcoBoost pumping like 400 and some odd horsepower. Where the ST line, which is just a regular Explorer with the ST outside styling and none of the bells and whistles at the smaller for cylinder and I believe that one was front wheel drive. Otherwise the Platinum was an all-wheel drive platform and I thought all of this generation was rear wheel drive. Last generation was front wheel drive, I had a 2014, and absolutely loved it. But when I came across an ST in 2022, wife and I had to buy it. Ordered it got it right off the back of the truck a couple months later and that is her favorite vehicle she's ever driven or had. In my opinion, the ST is the only way to go with the Ford Explorer! Completely blacked out, with black on black, the technology package along with the co-pilot 360 Plus, the front and rear and side sensors, air conditioned and heated seats for front and rear passengers, and everything else!. I've tuned mind with my HP tuners and a couple of bolt-on mods, including a much bigger intercooler, from the dinky little stock one, aFe CAI, strut brace, the rear differential dreaded bolt snap, I have a bolt-on cradle for that, that also has an isolated rubber mount. It won't keep the bolt from snapping, but I'm hoping it will give it a little extra of a brace, and if it does snap it will at least allow me to be in a spot where I can drive it home and not be stuck towing possibly 50-60 mi across town. So that one is just for extra insurance for myself and my wife. And then a couple of exterior and interior mods including adding the glove box light that was discontinued in 2022. They left the harness and everything else underneath there including the light switch, but just did not install the little wire with the light on it. So I added that it looks factory because even the hole for the light is still in the glove box. But yeah a little tune with my HP tuner MPVI 3, which I've used HP tuners for 20 plus years now on all my GM vehicles, and now that they open up four Dodge and everything else, I was able to do a little tune on it make the pedal a little bit more responsive less of the dreaded drive by wire feel. And also was able to tune up some of the timing and spark since I put on the much bigger intercooler and for my desert environment I was able to actually tune the engine to where it's actually driven to get the best power out of it as possible
I have the 24. The only things that are different is the blue cruise, the grill, the break lights, and the horizontal display. Biggest difference to me is blue cruise.
there's no physical buttons for HVAC controls... that will change in a few years ... because a lot of car companies are going back to buttons ... people don't like having to mash a tablet to change controls.
I have a 2024 and there's a 360 view - but what's insane is that it shares the same amount of screen area with the bumper camera view. Essentially allocating less than a 1/4 of the screen area for each view, and with 20/20 vision it's even difficult to see much of anything. The 360 view size is close to the same size as what was shown on my rearview mirror of my chevy blazer.

@@CTECH-REVIEW if you look at it it’s a slimmer profile all the way down. Now that could be camera or angle but it really does look that way. Also it looks shorter.
Love the comparison. Defintely most will not upgrade from 20-24 ST to this year. I think the only, only improvement is the back-end "look" overall the 20-24 is much more aggressive overall. The new 2025- wheels, front end, Grille, no interior buttons, boring display too, are all a STEP DOWN- IMO. I also think you could actually put the 25 tail bar on the previous gen. Ford needs to really step up customizations on digital screens, and make the 360 cameras record for all their vehicles. Also you mention the 3.0 - I agree probably the best of the Ecoboost !!!

@@Maverick09171 you might not be aware that the bottom has fallen out of the car market lately. Especially the used car market! You can get these for cheap with well under 100k miles for $28k or less. I’ve seen 2022 ST’s with under 60k miles go for $25k

The v6 is tuned differently in the 25. It seems to short shift.
Interesting. I hadn’t noticed that!
It’s it just me or does the newer model seem much slimmer in width?
I think it’s just the front end design profile
Ya not a fan that they removed physical buttons for hvac controls. I’m not a fan of digital only controls.
The older models look to feminine now the 2025 is out. Also the 2024 interior is awful. That vertical screen! What were they thinking. Idk that just my opinion but yeah see a lot of people upgrading on face book. I’m mean when you see these side by side you can’t tell me one doesn’t look more aggressive. My only gripe is no heads up display
@@CTECH-REVIEW Proven - physical buttons are less distracting from driving and more reliable.
@@MrJgayles Another miss by Ford with no HUD. but all ST's are aggressive just the 25's are plain boring. especially the lackluster wheel choice and god awful front end. But hey some will like it for sure. it looks more like GM and others even more now
@@marcm8209 nah bro the old ones do not have the looks as the new ones!!! The lower facia the wider grill and vents the smaller head lights. When lowered is going to sit different. The 2020-2024 are meh but we have different options. Mine is the new 2025 is more clean and somehow more aggressive.
Is there air suspension? Looks to low
no I do not believe so!
@CTECH-REVIEW I think I would prefer an option to raise and lower depending on mode. Think the balls dropped. Maybe in person it looks different.
Did ground clearance change?
Price is up....the cost of the black roof is $4000 on its own. Other manufactures charging $300. Mine will be in soon. It was delayed for a month due to QC issues
Also why is there not an option to delete the roof rails. My 2021 did not have them.....ERRRRR...Come on FORD.
Not sure! Maybe they just standardized it for 2025. I didn’t even know there was an option to do a black roof. Ours was all matching silver.
@@CTECH-REVIEW black roof is a huge cost add on. If ST is your sport model why have the roof racks?
Is the 2025 shorter/lower?
I think just less appealing and more boring. HAHA. ford just built a KIA or GMC
No looks identical to the 24
I believe you were looking at a RWD version
No this was awd version
Needs this in a shorter two row
That would look good!
If I had a 2024.
I’ll replace the trunk door from a 25’ so I can have the new rear lights.
And then Replace the Front bumper 2025
great idea!
Nice job
Thanks for watching and the comment!
The 2024 front end looks much better, the vertical infotainment screen/ tablet is tacky but glad they have physical hvac controls. Only good thing on the 2025 is the horizontal screen and cooler rear end.
I agree I like the rear lighting and the horizontal screen also!
2024 front end looks old and dated.
2024 looks way better in all aspects , especially the front grill, headlamps and rims
I agree
The previous gen front end looks a lot better. The new one looks Japanese or something. I do like the updated tail lights though and the interior.
Thank you for sharing!
half a screen in reverse versus full screen maps,
I feel bad for whomever buys this because they are going to do a full redesign in 2 years. I’ll wait to purchase that one
That’s a good point!
24 miles at 9 mpg wow someone has been romping on the 24
Good eye!
To much money and it sucks you can’t get a base model with a V6 with or with outs turbo! I’m a ford repeat customer many times , I’m not happy!
I hear you, they should have kept the V6.
Can we get the Equator series or Edge series that the Chinese market gets? Those cars look way better.
I will look into this!
A ford dealer told me that the 2025 is 6inches longer...is that true?
Not that I can see. Looks like same wheelbase
@@CTECH-REVIEW ok thank you
NO
the mazda cx90 outclasses this explorer in EVERY way
CX90 is a nice ride!
the new rims look much worse than the previous ones, such a pity, at least give us some options
I am thinking there is another option coming!!
@@CTECH-REVIEW that's very exciting, thank you!! for anyone interested in buying I would suggest wait a few months; i think those explorers will go on big sale when cars arrive in dealerships; right now the production is still not at pace so they are a little overpriced imo.
“What’s wild” is paying $62k for a Ford Exploder. A 4 year old 2020 ST model goes for around $28k on average. I don’t see any reason to lose $34k dollars in depreciation for one of these.
I agree!
Sure if you want to buy one with 100k+ miles they can be had at that price.
@@Maverick09171 you might not be aware that the bottom has fallen out of the car market lately. Especially the used car market! You can get these for cheap with well under 100k miles for $28k or less. I’ve seen 2022 ST’s with under 60k miles go for $25k
Vertical ipad stuck to the dash is a deal breaker for me...
Do you like the 24 or 25 dash more?
I prefer the 25 dash they did a good job remodeling it!
That bump out on the door handle, is not on the 2022 s t either. Is that something that that owner put on that door handle? There's a lot of dinky little stick ons and crap that are all over the internet that might be one of them. Because that door handle a little bump out thing looks like crap
I am not sure! I will look into this!
The tailgate will still rust in the same way so that hasn’t changed
oh not good!
I also will not have a infotainment screen even if I would have to get a older one or a different brand of vehicle the infotainment centers may cause accidents
Am I the only one who strongly hates the facelifted version? Like the exterior looks so cheap and tacky to me
I can see that!
Why don’t you put a 2025 bumper put on the 2024 😂 save your self the money
That is an option! does not sound cheap though!
@ why spend $61,000 when I can spend Less than $10k by just changing the look of the car. It’s the same feature only thing different is the head&taillights 😂😂😂 Ford is on acid I tell ya
2024 looks much better...
Yes looks great!
25 major ugrade, glade we waited for it
Yes! Thanks for watching.
They should have kept making the Edge ST instead of retooling a factory for electric that will go no where.
Thanks for watching!
Th new one looks heinous. And having climate control in the screen sucks. Every update on this vehicle made it worse and worse. 2nd gen they made it look like an egg, 3rd gen they made it IRS, 4th gen they made it AWD, 6th gen destroyed every practical use of the car, 6th gen facelift made it uglier, 7th gen made it more complicated, and now more complicated and uglier??
Yeah, I don’t disagree with you. I’m going to do another video soon on the vehicle. They need to make to replace this!
@@CTECH-REVIEW I mean they really need to make a 4Runner competitor again... same with Jeep.
@@FullsendOffroad They have the ford Everest in Australia, they just don't want it taking explorer sales over here. Solid rear, BOF, ranger based suv.
@@DrPizzle I wish, bud. The 4Runner doesn't take away Highlander sales (Toyota Kluger in Australia)
I have the 2022 ST, and will absolutely NOT be switching to the new one. Ruined it with the new front end, ridiculous rear light bar, and took away a bunch of things that used to be standard! Bad job, Ford!!
Thank you for watching!
I feel like the 2025 front is a downgrade to 2024
Thanks for watching!
That vertical display is hideous! Looks looks like something pimp my ride would have done.
Haha!!😂
The new turns into a Chevrolet
🤪
I am respectful just telling the truth as I see it
I appreciate that! Thanks for watching!
I want 1 but I'm afraid because ford's reliability is way down and it is known that 21 and 22 models are dropping valves and i have not been able to confirm that it will not happen on newer models yet.
Thanks for watching!
That’s still a lot of money
sure isQ
I have a 2020 , while I like the upgrades with the touch screen I prefer my wheels better . Those new wheels look horrible
Thanks for the comment
