    For the Explorer, you need to compare the Platinum to the Denali. The ST, Limited, etc are not direct competitors.

    The V6 is the only reason to even look at the Ford. The GMC Acadia is just a superiorly designed premium SUV overall with better reliability, build quality, and leaps and bounds better technology.

      The GMC is hardly better quailty, and especially not better reliability whatsoever and the technology is far WORSE in the GMC

      My aunt had an Acadia and the transmission went out before 20k miles so I'm not too sure about "better quality"

    The explorer lacks a HUD, rear view mirror camera and has no physical buttons for the a/c. That last one is the worst.

      That GMC will self destruct right after the warranty ends. 😂😂😂. Lookup GMC Acadia problems. It's basically a giant yugo.

      Nobody cares about HUDs anymore and a rear view camera is ok but kinda a novelty item. As far as the ac controls on the screen is something you easily get adjusted too

      @@jmc6000 yes they do, no it isn't, and you're desperate for excuses.

      @jmc6000 i disagree entirely. A HUD isn't a necessity, but it's nice to have and hard to not have once you're used to having one. Also, everyone else in this segment has them as an option.
      The rear view camera is very useful if you ever have your view out the rear windows obstructed, which can be frequent for a lot of people depending on their usage. I use mine all the time anyway though just because you really can see better with it.
      The A/c controls I think are a big one and I've had it both ways. Having them in the screen is usable, but very distracting, it requires way more attention than turning a know. Specifically, I'm referring to the temperature control. The other controls aren't as big a deal, but the temperature is something that gets adjusted frequently. I hated not having that knob and a lot of other people feel the same way.
      I'm not saying the explorer is bad, I like it, but this review was very one sided and left out a lot of pertinent information.

    I haven't owned a GM branded vehicle for over 35 years. So I cant make any modern experience comments. But I have owned 2 Fords, and a Ford influenced Mazda 6. And all the positive comments about the Explorer in this video have me reacting, 'yah, but it's a Ford'
    And what's with every reviewer going after GM and the lack of headlight switch? My current car plus the 2 prior to that have/had Auto Headlights. I think between the 3 cars, I've used the switch 2x. And I needed to turn them to automatic because the vehicle had been in for service and the tech turned them off.

  • @tysongaspard9330

    Trying so hard to make this seem competitive. Other than the V6, there’s no reason a discerning buyer is picking the explorer.

  • @michaels7984
    @michaels7984 5 วันที่ผ่านมา +8

    Man I'm sorry this review is so biased. The touchscreen on the acadia shows finger prints worse than the touch screen on the ford? The ford is more usable when the a/c controls are 100% on the screen? How often do people in this type of vehicle need to change the headlight settings to something other than auto? How often do they need to be watching their transmission temps? You didn't touch on the fact the gmc has a HUD and rear view mirror camera, which is awesome when you have your vehicle loaded with people or whatever you might have blocking your visibility. You can't get either of those on any explorer.
    Yes the explorer handles way better, but the suspension is also alot firmer. They are both good vehicles, but they aren't trying to be the same thing and most people in this segment care more about practicality than how fast they can take a corner.
    I love that there are good performance options in this segment, but that isn't the right thing to focus on for the vast majority of people looking at buying a family hauler.

      @randywilliams5042 5 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

      They think we're trying to get from 0 to 60 and 2 seconds, and how many times do you need to adjust automatic headlights?

    • @tingokuman
      @tingokuman 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Jeep (cherokee) in most respects created this segment, but the Explorer perfected it by honing a stretched Bronco 2 since the 80s. They just know more because they have seen more in this class. Im not saying the Explorer is the best SUV in the market. I personally would pick a Honda CRV/PILOT or Acura MDX. That being said you have to understand that the Germans now dictate what people want in an SUV so the Driving experience comes 1st then the utility. The Acadia is a mommy mobile disguised as a utility vehicle. Ford runs so much of this segment although they don't have to directly compete with Germany they have to be aware of their presence.

      i think it would have been better to do two separate reviews - the Arcadia for those looking for a good, luxurious, and highly practical SUV, and the ST for those looking for some power, handling, sporty feel to an all-ready good SUV. Next, we’ll probably see a comparison between a Lexus RX 350 Premium and a Porsche Cayenne GTS. 😂
