  • I have owned my tesla for a little over 3 years now. With over 41,000 miles on it, I could not be happier with my decision to go all electric. This car has been on quite a few road trips including doing some rideshare trips every so often. My name is Evan and if you are new here, welcome!

    Back in December of 2018 there was very little content on youtube about the tesla model 3 interior, especially the white seats. When going through the order page on tesla.com I had to decide if I wanted the standard black interior or the upgraded white interior. The white, in my opinion, stood out extremely well. I wanted something different than the regular black, brown, and tan colors like the rest of the legacy auto makers out there. With the occupation I work in; shipping logistics can be quite a dirty job, especially around aircraft. This new vehicle would be my primary mode of transportation to and from work. I looked and looked and could only find a couple videos on youtube then and it was only about the white interior on the model X. Nobody had the white interior in the model 3 yet… In his video, he showed how simple the clean up process was and that pretty much sold me on getting the white interior. I took the gamble and paid the extra 1,000 dollars for the upgraded white seats. Since delivery I have been documenting my white interior status throughout the coming years and overall I have had nothing bad to say. There was a video I did where I did not wipe down my driver's seat for a good 6 months or so just to show how well the stains would come up. Using my favorite cleaner spray called lithium hyper cleanse, I let the solution saturate the seat for a good 1-2 minutes then I wipe down with a high quality microfiber towel. To my surprise the first wipe down took most of the dirt away and brought back the vivid white color. There may be a time you'll need to re-spray and wipe down again using a little rubbing force to remove a deep stain. I did end up with a long blue streak line in the rear passenger seat from a possible ride-share passenger that was impossible to remove. I tried everything from dish soap to a magic eraser which is highly abrasive and should only be used as a very last resort. After seeing this stain, I found that many tesla owners, especially with the white seats, have applied this gyeon leather shield protectant to make the dirt and stains clean up easier in the future. I shared my experience applying this stuff and let me tell you it really works. The thin layer of ceramic coat protectant helps repel dirt and liquids should you spill anything on your seats. It will not change the way the seats feel and it will not cause any cracking, fading or discoloration. I personally apply this to the driver seat twice a year and the rest of the interior only once a year. As the months passed, to my surprise that blue line in the rear passenger seat I talked about earlier had disappeared with time. Looking at the comparison video side by side I can’t even see it with my eyes yet alone with my camera. I think as the seat received continuous use and with the regular cleanings I do on top of this gyeon leather shield layer I applied, the blue fad just washed out. So going back to which color interior you should get. If you are really wanting the white color but think you will ruin them with all the dirt and blue jean stain, I would personally think again. You’ll be surprised how well they hold up when you wipe them down every few months or so and apply this ceramic coat stuff I talked about earlier. What you are seeing here is 3 years of use in my tesla model 3 and I have not ONE regret choosing the white. The driver seat is still in good condition and the rest of the seats look factory new in my opinion. Also please be sure to check out the now many tesla white seat videos out there. There are so many more options than what I had back in 2018. I’ll post links below this video showing you where I get my leather shield and cleaning spray from. I hope I got my point across and maybe found this video helpful. If you did; consider clicking that like button below for me. Again my name is Evan and I’ll see you on the next one.. Bye.

    Love the video. I don’t have 3 years experience (24 hours to be exact) owning a Y with whYte seats. But I can say this: If you’re wanting a tesla and even SLIGHTLY thinking… “oh, yeah… those white seats are kinda nice…” Get the white seats. Seriously, they are gorgeous. First thing I did when i got home last night was put the Gyeon shield on it Evan talked about in the video. It smells but, don’t worry, it goes away within an hour or so. Get. The. White. Seats!

      @@michaelfrock2473 glad you commented so I could give an update! I’ve had the Y for a year and a half now and I don’t regret the white seats at all. There are a few things to note:
      -the Gyeon shield is legit. I recommend it a ton.
      -blue jeans are the devil on these seats. Keep up with wiping them down and you won’t have a problem
      -make sure you clean the seats VERY WELL before putting the Gyeon shield on. I did a half ass job cleaning the seats and you can see the streaks the shield left
      All in all, the white seats are a W. They look cool and don’t wear nearly as much as I thought they may. I will definitely be getting the driver seat professionally cleaned, all the other seats look fine
      FWIW, I’ve got about 12,000 miles on the car.

      Does the black fade with time? I test drove one with white seats today. I think I’ll go with black since I have small kids. I just want to know your thoughts on the black seats. Does it also look dull in appearance? And does it fade?

    • @ezpoppy55
      @ezpoppy55 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Sajinseethi I haven’t noticed any fading. I clean the interior two or three times a year (and if there is a spill or accident). I consider that a huge benefit - ease of maintenance. I detest high maintenance things (or people) in my life. 😊

    White interior is the best choice & looks beautiful. However, I am hearing Tesla’s new perforated seats do not hold up well because of the tiny holes they use & they have switched manufacturers. Tesla is being quite on giving info on these new 2024 seats since they are made in house now.

    I came from your original video of how to care for your white seats. What is the point of the test portion? Are they selling a product that might NOT work on your leather so you have to do a test patch first? I bought this product but haven’t used it it. Hope the gyeon works

    • @EMtesla1
