😊 About My Sewing Journey:
I started this sewing journey three years ago (2017). In the last two years, I have lost more than 25 pounds through intermittent fasting. I am more determined now to sew clothes that fit well. Clothes that fit my lifestyle and that I know I will wear. I am also challenging my sewing skill this year with a few fun wardrobe pieces and as I go along. If you are a beginner at sewing or returning after a long time, some of the patterns in this video may challenge your skill. Some will gently refresh your sewing skill and make you feel accomplished! I hope that my channel inspires you to join me on this sewing journey.
I have been intermittent fasting since October 2018. I have lost over 25 pounds and 3 dress sizes. I started intermittent fasting to gain control over my Type 2 Diabetes. I am no longer Diabetic. I fast 20 hours most days and loosen up more on the weekends to enjoy special occasions with family and friends. Intermittent Fasting is flexible and doable. I will be adding more about my intermittent fasting journey in future videos.

I forgot to mention the handles have a rubberized grip making these scissors comfortable to hold and work with. What scissors are you using?
You commented how you could hear the scissors cut through the fabric but your music was so loud it drowned out the first fabric cutting.

Since you have music over your video we can't hear the sound of the blade. When doing this kind of review, you might want to not use music over the sound of the scissors. IMO music is unnecessary and even a hindrance in how-to and review videos.

I just got mine today, can't wait to wipe the oil off the blades and get cracking!! So far I am pleased with the look and feel of them. How old are your fiskers. Sounds like you're comparing brand new to well used scissors. Not a fair comparison in my opinion.

Great review! I'd love to see a side-by-side comparison with the Kai brand. I love how pretty the Guggenhein's are - that black color is so sleek and the handles look really comfortable.

I use a brand called Wiss, They work great but I wanted a good pair for my Sister so I just ordered a pair of these. I think she will love them , I just hope I don't chang my mind and end up keeping them... lol

Another thing that’s really great is there agronomic around your thumb area so if you have any arthritis or pain in your thumb and the way that designed the handle is much better than any other scissors ✂️ out there, right!🎉

I just ordered a pair of those a few days ago so I can't wait to get them. It's my understanding these scissors are super sharp so I was getting a little nervous watching you cut because your fingers were very close to those scissor blades.

@@carmensalome I've had my scissors for 2 years. I bought them when they on a sale. They are still cutting good.
*I HAVE 2 PAIRS* of these - only a different brand name, but Identical in every way - had them for about 2 years, they have been excellent for detailed and fine work.
IF they get "gritty" in the action you will think they need lubricating - they DONT they need CLEANING. something about these they tend to pick up a lot of dust etc?

Hi Del, The orange handle fisker scissors where my very first pair of fabric scissors. I have been using them for over three years. I am using the guggenhein scissors now more. They are sharper and work better cutting knits. Thank you for watching. 😊
The Fiskers need to be freshly sharpened to make a fair comparison. Blades dull with use.

How are these on cutting a stack of 3 pieces of paper?

If you want to blunt your scissors quickly, cut paper.
My late mother used to have a pair of dressmaking scissors which looked very much like Ginghers, but I don't recall the brand. What I do remember is that I was forbidden to use them on paper - which for the kind of things I did as a kid, pretty much ruled me out from using them.
So how do you cut paper? With a guillotine (which does a better job), or a pair of scissors that doesn't matter too much.
Please kind lady, I really need your suggestion!. My mother is almost blind (900%) however she makes bags and many other stuff from fabric or using yarn to knit etc.anything than what a tailor does. What's the best pair of scissors, I can buy for her please? I can't find Gingher in my country, only KAI, Fiskars,Singer and Chinese similar to the one here on this video. Would KAI Dressmaker knife edge, be the best for her, or order the non knife edge version? Please, I need the best for her, She deserves it. I Just need a suggestion please

Buyer beware. I bought a pair of shears on the recommendation of many TH-cam sewers. Mine are very sharp but there is a burr on the bottom edge that makes it hard to advance. No customer service number and no response to multiple emails.

I’m left handed, in your opinion would they work for me?
Hi Linda the company is working on a left handed pair. I can hold and cut with these using my left hand but the handle has a slight curvature to fit the right hand. I hope that is helpful.

I exchanged text with the company about shears for a lefty and was not impressed with their response. Yea, I got the usual response about working on a left-handed model but that was over a year ago and nothing so far. Alas, we live in a right handed world and it is the primal and most primitive prejudice. @@carmensalome

I try to avoid buying Chinese goods where I can. I don’t want to feed the dragon and I’d prefer to pay a little more (when I can afford to) for higher quality goods made in the West or by allies of the West eg Japan and Taiwan.

Major red flag that they arrived originally with a nick in the blade, poor quality control = poor company and product.

You reviewed the gugghein scissors and said they had excellent customer service they are charging me for2 pairs plus detail scissors there is no way to contact them I go to contact us I put in the email and it went back to contact THERE IS NO WAY TO CONTACT THEM LIAR if you have a way to contact her please tell me
