Would you say that the city bag from the 80s is the same type of leather? I’ve had quite a few bags and I noticed that the city was very thick and almost rubbery. Like meaty lol. My Willis is like that too but my Bantam is a lot thinner leather. Still nice, just not as thick.
The leather is definitely different based on year, country/factory and even style. Older, NYC made bags are more ‘chewy’, thick leather. The chewy feel is more pronounced on a bag that was used and loved a lot. But, a City 80’s bag would have very similar leather to the #9530 here. Very different from the #9965 which was only Made for a short time in the mid 90’s.
I love the 9965! It’s one of my favorite bags - small but can hold a lot of stuff. I have a lime green one that I bought myself for my birthday ☺️. It’s in mint condition and came with the box, QC tag and registration booklet. I assumed it was authentic and didn’t have it looked at first - do you think it’s safe to say it’s real? I might post it on the purse forum to calm my nerves
Definitely ask. Pastel colors were highly faked and so was the #9965 but seeing as you had so many other items come with your purchase it is likely good and RARE girl!! I would make sure though ;)
