I show you catalog photos (the original release of this bag) and even a NWT bag! Cute nickname, but that is all it is;) Iconic! Perfect! Hi friend! Back in the day we all called this bag the Penny Pocket. Way before influencers were a thing. Many sells associates called it the Penny or the Penny Pocket that's probably where the name came from. I'm thinking like you that this bag is older, it's possible it did come out in the earlier years and then was remade and renamed in the 1980s. Who knows. I wasn’t sure how long the name Penny Pocket had been around. Thanks for sharing that! I have a lot of 70’s catalog photos too and even older but haven’t seen this bag yet in any of those. The first spotting is in the 1986 Catalog! Still So curious as to why it’s called the Penny Pocket by so many but never in a catalog….All very interesting! The basic bag was renamed three times but always kept the same style number. Maybe one day the mystery will be solved! I know you had a dear friend who worked for Coach 🥰 Coach never did make anything simple 😂
@@birdybloom2 my dear friend had told me a few times that Coach had made so many bags that most of us haven't seen them all and not all were in the catalogs. She had a nice collection of the rare sample bags and pilot bags which were absolutely amazing. I miss her so much. Her sister is going to send me a couple of the bags from her rare collection and I will be sharing those on the channel. Hope you're having a wonderful Thanksgiving day and staying safe 🌹

Hey, loving your videos! Can you tell me how to tell what year a bag was made?
You can only tell if the bag was made 1994 or later. There is a little bit to it and maybe I can do a video on this. I have touched on it a bit in some but I think breaking down the creed number will be a future video! The Facebook ’Coach Counterfeits’ group provides files to all members where an individual can dive in and learn all of it yourself (with time and practice!). Happy to help if you have a particular creed letter/number combo that you are looking at;) Happy Coach Hunting!

Hi.. I noticed that this bag style has two different strap hardware… the dog leash style and forgive me I am not sure what the other strap clasp is called.. lobster clasp?.. what’s the difference?
Hey! Great observation! I’m not sure if I mentioned this in the video, but when the strap to these bags became adjustable (around 1997/1998) they also changed the clasp to a dog least one vs. the lobster clasp!
