How I clean Vintage Coach Pebbled Natural grain Sonoma Leather
What did you do to the faded corners though?
@@babycakes8434 all I did was condition this bag with leather CPR. Literally. I ‘would’ have gone back over it after rest with a heavier conditioner but it wasn’t even needed. That is why a lot of us plead for people to give a Vintage Coach bag proper cleaning/conditioning and rest before applying a coloring product that interferes with the absorption of future conditioners. Too many influencers are recommending ‘rehab’ techniques that are not good for this glove tanned, aniline dyed untreated leather.
@@birdybloom2 Interesting. I am contemplating buying brown faded dooney. I don't know if the conditioning itself would fix it? I love my coaches. I think I have 5 and I love them all. I use one every single day for the last few years and it looks like new.
@@babycakes8434 no, Dooney leather is different. All weather leather and it is not dyed as through through as Vintage Coach
Hi! I just got this bag, and it’s absolutely gorgeous. The leather is noticeably thinner, but incredibly soft. Similar to the softness of my #9790 that was made in Mexico. Straight out of the box and ready to wear. Do you know the exact name of this bag? I’ve seen it referred to as: Legacy Crescent & Legacy Bleeker. TIA ✌🏻❤️👜
If I use Leather CPR on my bag can I use a different leather conditioner the next time I condition my bag, or do I need to stay with leather CPR? Thanks.
Love your videos. Did this style come in rust, or only red?
@@sagg9909 it was made while rust was a color so I would imagine it exists in Rust!
It's lovely!
What gorgeous bags!! And so helpful about the misprints on those creeds. Now if I see one I’ll know. 🥰
This bag is so cool! The "made in" tag you showed on screen has the little embroidered dot which indicates it was a made for outlet piece. It's a mystery to me why one of the hang tags is totally blank. I have a Rodart x Coach piece and it has two hang tags, one of them denotes the collab and the other one is normal. But I don't have any ideas why one would be totally blank. Maybe hot stamping was really popular at the time?
@@digitalgrrl79 oooo I want to see your Rodarte! I have a Rodarte too but sadly, a tame one & she is missing her hangtags :/
The style # for the Spectator Duffle Sac is 6085 according to the style #'s and names that is on Coach Counterfeits page.
That duffle sac looks so good! 😍 For that blank hangtag I think you can use it for engraving your initials or some prints to make it cuter at the Coach store
Hi how would you protect the exterior suede on those bags? Thanks
@@samanthalimburn9540 I personally do not spray anything on my bags and I use them! I recommend brushing with a soft bristle brush (horse hair) regularly after use (it’s quick) just to dislodged dirt and oils and fluff the ruff. I also spot clean with water wipes of I do get something sticky or unsavory on my Nubuc/suede bags. Wait for this to dry completely then brush the ruff.
Ah thank you, I’ve got a red one on its way to me and I’d like to be able to use it regularly and not worry about it too much.
I love your videos by the way, I watch them all the time!
@@samanthalimburn9540 thank you!!!
Hi me again! Would you think the red from the Berkeley would transfer?
Love the 3/4 sleeve BC coat and Sonoma Nubuc bag too. Great video!
Hi, what would you recommend to restore the color loss of light-colored bags if not paint or dye? I have a lilac Soho buckle bag that is in a very sad condition
What if there is not over stamping on my bag serial number? Does that automatically mean it’s fake?
@@WinterCatherine no, not at all
I have a Sonoma bucket bag I bought new, when I started working at my first job. It has stayed in my bag rotation ever since. I’ve bought hundreds of other bags since, some very expensive designer, but that Sonoma bucket, has never been packed away, and gets worn regularly even today. I have never gotten a better bag value since.
I found a Coach Outlet tote at a Marshall's store. I love the color. I've been doing a lot of research to see if it could be fake, but it seems authentic. From what I've read, T.J. Maxx and Marshalls vet their bags and don't sell counterfeits. I do understand that their outlet items are of lower quality. This tote was made in Indonesia.
Hi, love your videos. Do you know if this would fit a MacBook Air? I have both daypacks and bought the big one in hope that it would fit my MacBook and it doesn’t.
@@sofiaagarciia5091 I don’t believe this would be big enough for a MacBook
@@birdybloom2 thanks!
These look so great. Thanks for sharing! Peace and love..Suz What ☮️💛
Super helpful! I just got a nubuc version of this bag at a thrift store today, almost jumped up and down when I saw it and I don’t think I’d be as excited if it weren’t for your videos! I did want to ask, hope that’s ok, would you think it’d be safe to still wash the lining of this bucket bag if it’s nubuc leather? I’d make sure not to get the nubuc wet. I also am not sure if I need to use soap or just water? Thanks again for the great content😊
@@ericabell554 the lining pulls out easily on these! If it doesn’t just reverse the bag. It will be fine!
@@birdybloom2 thank you!
The last I see them in a catalog is Spring 1998, but just a double-page spread (pp74-75). They only show three styles: 4907, 4923, & 4924 and just natural grain, no mention of nubuck. All three styles offered in chocolate, birch, black, marigold, navy, tomato. Of my 12 Sonomas, the latest date is Oct 97. It looks like they used the nubuck leather in other styles after that. Wish they had made this line for longer; it's the perfect combination of luxury & slouch. Love your videos, they're the highlight of my week.
Hi hi wondering if you put up the video on how to rehab or clean the Madison bags?
I talked about it in this video here Vintage Coach Madison Collection Video #3 #4414 Copley Bag & Leather Care Talk th-cam.com/video/X65XcLbnLmc/w-d-xo.html
Thanks so much for the information ❤ are you planing to sell your ergo bag?
I am! I am just hoping to get my own shop up and running soon.
love it! especially the color! out of curiosity, where do you find some of your bags? I know you've mentioned you thrift a lot of items, so wasn't sure if that's where you find them? I'm a fan of trying to find items already out there instead of buying new, but newer to doing so! thanks again, great video!
So I have literally only ever thrifted a hand full of the 100’s of Vintage Coach Bags that I own. I would look more often out and about (I LOVE thrifting and antique shopping) but I just don’t have the time for it right now. So, I look online. All over. eBay, poshmark, Mecari, FB, Marketplace, Etsy, Goodwill Onlien & the list goes on and on. I use a lot of techniques. Let descriptive words to find bags that someone might now know what they have. Reverse image searches. Style number searches. I just get creative with it. I have taken a huge break in the search though. I definitely have FOMO from it however 😂🤣
@@birdybloom2 Thank you so much for sharing! I've always been curious how others find such great bags, and at times great prices for them. I know it's so fun to "hunt" for great finds and it can be hard to stop! Thanks again!
does the fletcher have cardboard in the bottom?
I believe so….it is reinforced. A lot of the Sonoma bags do….
Beautiful bag! I love how the main compartment is on the side closest to your back. That’s something that always makes me nervous with wearing backpack style bags
I think it looks better crossbody
I was able to find me one in Putty on today for a great price... Not as pristine as yours but still in really good shape. I can't wait for it to arrive.
I want the Stewardess in Putty so badly. But the Ranch bag is catching my attention as well. Thanks for sharing!
This bag is beautiful...and I want it! Thanks for sharing.
Grommets?
Hi, is the Sonoma bucket bag a ‘heavy’ bag you reckon?
No! This bag is super lightweight and it is literally my most used bag bc I can truly abuse it and she is still wonderful!!
You have a Sonoma skinny case? A unicorn.
I do now, after the video. I have all 3 sizes! Posted a pic in my FB group Vintage Coach EyeCandy
I have this video too that shows the skinny! Vintage Coach Sonoma SLGs Bag Talk th-cam.com/video/eWT4f1Kho44/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for this review. Beautiful bag but too heavy for me.
It is heavy! I’ve honestly not carried it yet!
@@birdybloom2 That’s why I quit carrying Dooneys. Most are all weather leather and too heavy without anything in them. I did however catch the vintage Coach bug. 😂
So helpful! Thanks so much!!
Absolutely beautiful transformation. Thank you so much for the video. Michelle, I just recently purchased a vintage Coach Basic Bag. The seller made it known, the bag comes from a smoker's home. I'm okay with that, as I purchased it as an experiment bag. I will be giving it a gentle bath in cool water with some Dawn dish soap. Do you have any other suggestions for deodorizing the bag? Any suggestions would be welcome. Thank you! Love your videos and FB group. :)
I don’t think dunking a bag with dawn helps much with the smoke smell (or perfume smells for that matter). I stuff a smoky bag with newspaper and let it air out for days. I have needed to box up bags with newspaper and charcoal that are super bad and I end up leaving them for a long time mainly because I am busy, not because they need that much time 😉 It tends to work. I usually also air out boxed bags outside in dapple sun with fresh newspaper afterwords.
@@birdybloom2 Perfect. Thank you very much for the suggestions!
Thank you so much for this video! I have a few bags that need this! Could I use Angelus acrylic leather paint for the edges?
The edges of what?
@birdybloom2 I mean, the sides of the strap. In the video, you used a.DIY Leather Repair kit. I was wondering if I could also use Angelus leather paint.
@@heatherwilliams3679 you could but I recommend this. Applied lightly it looks natural and original but I’m sure you could get the same effect with paint if done carefully. Matching the original color to the side of the strap is important which will require color mixing usually.
That isn’t Vuittonite.
? It is. Why do you think it’s not?
@@birdybloom2 The lining on your makeup bags looks amazing. If it was Vuittonite it would have peeled by now.
I’m so sorry to this happened to you 😩 ppl suck
Dang that's messed up you were robbed. I usually don't take sentimental or expensive items with me since I fear someone taking it.
That's so awful! I had no idea this type of a theft was a thing. I will be much more careful about what I pack in my checked bag. I am so so sorry this happened to you :[
Hi Michelle! Omg I'm so sorry this happened to you. It's so disheartening when people steal from you. I hate to even travel with designer items for that same reason. I hope you enjoyed your vacation. ❤
Video actually starts at about four minutes and 25 seconds.
You look amazing in that jacket!
Hi from Raleigh,NC. I was trying to reach out thru your Instagram. Wanted to ask about the double strap bag. 🐕🦺😎
Hey! Sorry, not on Instagram often. The one in the video? What’s up?
@@birdybloom2 hi, I have come across a deep brown/ mahogany double straps one. So based on your video, do you feel it is indeed a late ‘70’s. You have the only one I have seen except for one that had sold on Etsy at some point. Found mine at a local thrift shop. Do you know any additional info on? Thank you so much. Cindy🐕🦺😎
@@cindylondon6459 love to see a pic! Maybe in the FB group Vintage Coach Eyecandy or via email at birdybloom_rehab@yahoo.com But what I shared is all I know! Deep Brown from that era would be Mocha by the way ;)
I recently purchased a red Dinky from a seller on Poshmark. I had the bag authenticated prior to purchase. Upon receiving the bag, something felt off. Bag was just to bright red. I kept inspecting and there on the brass turnlock was the ‘paint’. I used a clean cloth and BAM shoe polish. Took me hours over 2 days to remove the polish thru rubbing. I contacted seller and Poshmark and was given the option to return the bag; I declined. I requested a discount and received 50% off what I paid.
beyond helpful thank you so much 😭
Don't get rid of the skirt. Find a good taylor to fix it no problem.

Do you sell Coach bags? Where can I see your listings?
Yes but I have not made many new listings lately. I’m hoping to open up my own shop but currently I have some things on Poshmark posh.mk/CcajlBzaYJb
@@birdybloom2thank you!
Thanks Michelle. I did. A member named Kasey volunteered to help as did a couple others. Thank you.
Kasey is awesome! Wonderful!
Good video. I have been looking for the compact pouch with the removable straps. Zero luck. Can you tell me if there's another name I may want to look under please. I like the idea of any of my bags being able to take the straps off to store them inside it's easier and takes less room on my limited shelf.
No, I’ll keep my eyes open but you might want to try an ISO post (in search of) in Vintage Coach Eyecandy on FB. Feel free to reach out to me or another moderator if your new to buying from others and have any questions about the legitimacy of an offer;)
