The line Yippee Kai Yay comes from many old cowboy movies. At the end, Hans Gruber shows that he doesn't know American movies when he says "John Wayne does not walk off into the sunset with Grace Kelly". The movie he's referring to is almost certainly HIgh Noon starring Gary Cooper (not John Wayne) and Grace Kelley, which is why John McClane says "That's Gary Cooper A-hole". Don't feel bad for not knowing the reference; it's a 1952 movie.

This is what you would call one of those perfectly made movies. Perfect casting. Perfect acting. Perfect pacing/editing. Perfect score. Perfect plot/screenplay. This film will hold up for generations to come because it is just that well done!

Actually there were references to Arnold Scharzenegger and Rambo. The three of them were always trolling each other in their movies.
