    0:29 Choose the ring finger.
    0:36 Go from the outside in.
    0:45 Do a gentle patting motion.
    0:52 Don't use too much. Use a pea sized amount. Don't go too close to the eye, do it around the eye.

      Starling R they usually put an eyeshadow base which can look and feel like a moisturizer

    • @starlingr530
      @starlingr530 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Quick-Sword Ilena Thanks. I don’t think the base designed for combining with make up would be better than an eye cream or moisturiser in general, so I meant that since they can be put on eyelid, surely we can happily and safely apply eye cream there too. Hope it makes sense :)

    hi, i'm 22 and very new to the skincare world, i've only recently started getting interested and researching what i need and how to take care of my skin, and i've noticed that i have some fine lines under my eyes. my issue is that my lines are Right underneath my lower lashline, like they start around my tear duct and are pretty much parallel to my lashline, just a few millimeters bellow it. I'm wondering if an eye cream will (spread enough to) reach them or if you recommend i rather use something like eye masks/patches? (i'm not sure what the proper application of under eye masks is but i tend to see people placing them a lot nearer to the lash line)
    thanks in advance if you respond and sorry for any grammar/phrasing errors, english isn't my native language

    •  4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Hey there! To ensure that your eye cream doesn't come in contact with your eye we would not suggest applying an eye cream that close you your lash line. The crinkles directly below the lash line are perfectly normal and healthy and help the eye close tightly when blinking or sleeping.

  • @IglooDweller

    Is it possible to apply eye cream too ~often~? I use the amount of cream shown in the video, but I've been re-applying it throughout the day whenever I feel it running out. Is that excessive? Should I only do it once or twice a day instead?

    •  5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      This is a great question. your skin can only absorb so much so this is a point of over-saturation. However, on the flip side, moisturizers and eye creams do not always last long in their ability to hydrate the skin. Meaning, depending on the formulation, the moisture it gives can evaporate after a few hours. Long story short, if you're using a well-formulated eye cream that uses moisture repairing ingredients (hard to know unless you're familiar with moisture repairing ingredients) then morning and night should be sufficient. Check out my Total Eye Repair Creme as it's long-lasting, yet not greasy which is key for the eye area. (You don't want oils seeping into the eyes.)

    •  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question! It will help somewhat but not as much as an wrinkle reducing eye cream. The area on the eye is the thinnest skin on the face so its a good idea to use a true eye cream.

      @bearj9148 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think just night is better but same question about eyelids.

    •  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Excellent question! It depends on personal preference. Some people need eye cream in the morning and evening to maintain moisture there. The eyelids tend to be more oily on their own, so we do not recommend applying eye cream there. Also, putting cream above the eyelid makes it more likely for it to run into your eyes! Hope this helps. 😊

    What is the difference between eye cream and eye serum? Can either be used for the same benefit?

    •  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Eye creams are meant to seal hydration into the thin skin of the eye area. Eye serums can be layered under eye cream for a thinner layer of more active ingredients. For example, our Overnight Eye Serum is an exfoliating acid serum we suggest using twice a week under an eye cream like Total Eye Repair Creme.

    Simple question, from a “guy” - WHY? 🤔
    I mean, we RUB other products on our face, WHY do we have to PAT eye cream on our eyes?
    Seems a bit SILLY to me. 🤡

      Great question! The skin under the eye is not the same as the skin on the rest of the face. It's extremely thin which is why we recommend patting instead of rubbing. When you rub you're making a pulling motion that overtime can stretch the thin skin under the eye. Be sure to pat using your ring finger as that finger has the lightest touch! Hope this helps. 😊

      @ Thanks for the considerate response, Renee.
      Yeah, I’ve read about the “pulling creates wrinkles” theory elsewhere since first posting, so I, too, have adapted the “patting” technique. 😉
      Just understand that as a typical “guy,” the act of patting cream under your eyes with your ring finger comes as naturally as lifting your pinky while drinking tea. 🙄😆😁
