For the thief. I much prefer the frost or lightning daggers. Much better for those that started the game as a mage trying to switch to a melee vocation
Hot take: The cyclopean hammer is better than cinderspine. Fire can cause problems with a few enemies and dragons are strong against it. The cyclopean hammer has more knockdown too. The difference in damage doesn't mean much overall. Fighters job is to knock enemies to the ground and the whole team does more damage then. Lightning hammer for the win.
fyi the volcanic island gear you can also purchase from the dwarves; sara at bakbattahl and gutstafr at windwalkers. sara gives a 5% discount if you complete her quest iirc
I'm pretty sure the best thief weapon pre-endgame is Frosted Edges due to the permanent ice enchantment slowing and freezing enemies, plus high Strength and Magick stats in general. They also bypass a portion of physical resistance from enemies like ghosts, saurians, etc. due to being enchanted
Generally the emchanted weapons are going to be better if you have spent any amount of time on a magic class and the enemy doesn't reisist it. 30 or so more strength isnt going to outdamage another 400 magick attack and elemental damage
@nidhogg00 from what I've seen the stat differences between the weapons are muuch smaller than the gaps in DD1. Maybe if get a BBI style expac it will skew harder, but atm the difference is only like a hundred or so strength between the dragons bite and the thunder hammer. For example.
Side note: If you're playing a thief with their passive stealing core skill you actually have a chance to steal the Dead Ringer from the dragon in Melve while wailing on it. That's how I got it anyway. Thanks for the vid Cotton.
Or you can hit it three times with the ballista up on the tower and it will kill it. And then you’ll be able to loot him. You will need a pawn to help use it.
In dd1 the elemental weapons were considered weaker than the high strength weapons because an enemy's resistance would apply twice: physical and elemental resistance. It doesn't feel like that here though because it feels like the elemental weapons are super strong regardless
I wish armor had stats like dd1 with +str etc as archer or thief you take zero damage ever so armor doesn’t even matter at all. They should have added some kind of perk to the armors for it to boost a skill or something for vocations.
Correct me if I’m wrong but why is every weapon here outclassed by dragon forged weapons? And why are my Heaven’s Key Daggers stronger than what’s being shown here as the strongest daggers? Did you guys not come across these yet or is there something I’m missing?
There are sets to some pieces that you can find in other shops. There's also sets to some pieces that are in the game but you cannot find them anywhere. Purely data mined.
Dead Ringer can also be obtained during first drake fight in Melve. IF it counts I knocked him on ground and did so much damage nearly killed it before it flew away. After speaking to Sigurd for first time was next in inventory
Even if they're slightly weaker I like to have all melee characters with a permanent boon weapon. Great for targeting weaknesses and inflicting status effects. And they just look cool lol.
Good to hear. I was gonna say I wish game has a reason to fight monsters for good drops (weapons / armors) while I like that buying things is convenient but having something to look forward to while fighting monster or exploring is nice
From what I've seen none ofnthe armor I got from around was better than what he had, but some ofnthe weapons were good. Specifically the enchanted ones are generally better than what he has. His stuff is all pure strength. For the magic stuff though it seems his is best
I can confirm you can get dragons breath off of the griffin. Best I can do evidence wise is item log and screen shot of griffin in the tower as I don't screen record. Used thief pawn with pilfer
I been watching you guys since the beginning of monster hunter world, always reliable and useful information albeit with a few slip ups here and there. Keep it up boys!
How are people missing the fact that the seeker's token corset, gives you the highest defense for almost every single class? Also weapon that are good against certain enemies like the Labrynthius mace that does more damage to minotaurs, does more damage to minotaurs than post end game weapons
You do not talk to Sigurd for the Mystic Twin hand weapon, it's looted from the dragon's body, Sigurd gives you the Vocation and the Maister art if you kill the dragon in Melve.
You dont have to go to volcanic island for that gear. Just do saras quest in bakbattal so you dont have to go back and forth. Idk why he keeps telling people to go there out of their way
Likely because while Sara is closer, you have to do a long quest chain to unlock her shop. The vendor on Volcanic island is always there and easily accessible once you get there
I can confirm I got the the dragon's breath from the Dragonsbreath tower. After defeated the Griffon at it's nest I looted it from the body. I tried it out once it was mentioned and got it on the first try so can't say if it percentage based. Know it's April first and all but I'm did get it so try it out for yourself. Just let me know if you got it on your first try or not.
i know people hate when someone posts so much on a game that dropped but i love it, i watched everyone this guy posted, especially if there is a possibility of finding out i missed out on content
Some of this info is inaccurate. The best daggers in game are the "Heavens Skies" and are even more powerful then the endgame daggers. The fighters best weapon is also an enchanted weapon known as "Molten Fury". Versatility wise, the Almace comes in 2nd. It's basically the "windshear" of DD2.

I can confirm that the dragonsbreath bow drops from the griffin at dragon's breath tower. I have it on video. I got it after going back to the area after the mystic spearhand quest, don't know if there is any connection.
So the dragon shop has some better things but the armor doesn’t matter. Wear whatever you want. The game gives you metric tons of stuff to heal. And the wep in the dragon shop won’t out do a wep with elements.
Wow, can't believe even with thorough exploration of dragons breath tower, I still missed two chests. And would you believe me if I said I got Medusa's bow from my first fight with her and it was from randomly attacking her with my daggers, I have a passive snatching ability that triggers with every hit and I think it's a 2% chance and the bow is also rare
Fun fact: This best armor is NOT any of these armor he shown. The BEST ARMOR comes from chests under the sea and rivers in “UNMOORED WORLD” they are even stronger than the endgame armor.

Why do people keep saying the best weapons are ones that have less total damage than others? For example the framae blades for thief has 548 strength but only like 142 Magick but my frosted edges have 500 of each so wouldn't that be better?
The way the game calculates damage is HEAVILY favored on raw damage, and almost never is outclassed by anything else. Its stupid, but thats the way it worked in DD1. best thief armor is whatever you can get the least amount of weight on anyways, Thief gaters and thief hood with elven enhancement work the entire game for me due to its low weight and decent looks. Everything else you can mix and match just make sure you keep your weight very light.

Legion's Might really doesn't hold a lot of water in DD2. For the thief. I much prefer the frost or lightning daggers. Much better for those that started the game as a mage trying to switch to a melee vocation
Can confirm Dragons Breath for Magick Archer has a chance to drop from the Griffin in the tower. Had one drop for me..after buying it.
That’s their style. The personality style is spastic gamers. It irks me sometimes too but they make good content
You can gift it to a friend playing the game lol

I can confirm Dragons Breath drops from the Griffin.
yup, i got it first time so idk if it's rare
I got it today too

You mentioned all the Magic Bows except the best one. The Ice Bow the elves sell is insane since the main skill you use is the ice one.

I run the Dowsing Spikes everywhere I go, the slight damage difference is trivial in comparison to knowing the location of hidden chests.
The Dowsing Spikes also have more Knockdown Power than the daggers sold in the Volcanic Camp, which adds to its case
@@jacchann I jacked mine up with Dwarven smithing for that exact reason.

I prefer the ice enchanted magic bow because it frequently freezes things which leads to free damage and can often extend a boss's down time.
