As always my friend, honest and true. I say this with love and you know I am also honest. I have to say that the screws used are not good. You are better than modern cross head in such an old hand forged axe. I say this as a friend. You know me 🧡
I like the way you try different ideas & designs. You seem to put a lot of thought into what you do & give different things a go. People are entitled to give an opinion & they won’t always like the end product, but don’t stop doing what you do! Great stuff👍
The tin on the handle behind the head is likely too thin to prevent breaking the handle with overstrikes. My kids/grandkids kept me replacing handles for years, so I now imitate splitting maul makers by clamping a formed 3/8” nylon cushion there. Helps.
I just wanted to thank you for sharing the only constructive comment on the over strike shield that I've seen here. Too many one or two word comments saying pointless or ugly. But you come in and show, not only an understanding of its purpose, but a suggestion for an improvement. Very refreshing. Thank you.
With axes with a small head you occasionally miss the wood and the wood slams into your handle. So to protect the handle some people make the protector themselves. I like it because it has more of a homemade kind of look. I also like that he didn’t smoothen out the damage on the axe head itself so it looks old
i think you just had too much fun splitting wood. its so satisfying watching you sprinkle cleaning agent on the metal an scrub it. that and outside is my fav part besides the sanding. good job
I don't know what sort of wood you were trying to split, but I've gone up against some similar logs with tight, almost spiral like grain. After spending 30 minutes just splitting the first one, I gave up on the whole pile.
Hi, i don’t think this is a splitting axe due to its long head, but was more intended for cutting down large trees in the forest. When you swing the axe, it will bite deep into the wood and remove huge Wood chunks. Anyway, a nice restoration job, your skills are more refined now compared with The first videos. Keep the good work!
Hello my friend. I've been following you for a long time. Your business is very good. And beautiful. But let me give you an opinion. You must bring diversity to your group, with all the love and appreciation
Cool ♥️♥️ love your video ♥️
From India 🇮🇳
Another grate axe saved by a true Restoration King. Cheers .(:

Beautiful job. What a great splitter.
Definitely hand made. Those forge marks are cool.

Very refreshing. Thank you.
Loved this video. Great restoration on this really big Axe. It works very nicely.
Good job 👍👍👍
I love it! As I do all of your videos, however I think the foil below the head looks cheap and unnecessary.

My Dude. Bravo. 👍
Nice work as always. I like how you re-used and reshaped the original handle. It looks so much better. 👍

It was an acacia tree. Yes it is difficult to cut. Thanks for attention.
Very good
I want this splitting axe! Great job my friend! ⚒ keep going.
Nicely done 👍✌️
The axe head almost looks Japanese. I love this one, it performed very well in testing. Another great job!
Definitely an old time power tool. But it sure does make a mess in the workplace
Bom trabalho!👏👏

I advise you to try to restore
one of the old Finnish axes, made by Bïllnas or Kelloköski (Mariefors brük). I'm sure you would love it )

Amazing axe! I like your style and videos. 🔨👍
Oh no it's AXE SEASON! 😂😂😂 just kiddin! #Perfection
Good try u still get thumbs up
Damn that’s some hard knotty wood! What kind of wood is it?
The tree is called acacia.
I assume that the workshop cleaner was coming around that day?
I clean my own workshop. It took about 20 minutes.
Nice 💪
4.4 pounds? The ones I used as a kid were 8 to 10 pounds or heavier.
That being said, nice work as always my friend.
great, i only have old elwell axes 4.5 lb or more

Thank you sir, yes I trying to make a few new projects in woodworking.
Special agent cleaning at your service
what a huge axe! is it heavy to catch?
You can work with one hand, but keep it close to the head of the axe.
That is a big axe
🥇
Where are u from if u don’t mind me asking
That collar made of out a time can is clever. Nice job.
That's nothing, I made a 11 KG axe out of a gear.
Not as nice as your previous restorations. Metal wrap not visually pleasing and I'm not sure it served any real purpose. I do like your videos.
Thank you sir for your attention. I made it so as not to damage the ax handle.
