This was especially interesting to me since my Dad and both his brothers served during WW2. The middle brother actually landed in Normandy on D-Day. My Dad was serving with the US Navy in Ireland during the invasion, the younger brother served after that since he was the baby. Watching you restore this lighter reminded me of my Dad's Zippo he carried with him until he quit smoking later in life. He passed away June 2, 2013. I remember him coming home at the end of the war as he left the train how excited I was to see him. It's a privilege to see your restoration and how beautiful it is. A big 10 from me here in the US.

I am currently a Hot Shot driver (Basically deliver vehicles all around the United States but my dream job is doing exactly what you are doing! Well that and furniture restoration! I've wanted to do it my whole life but for about 20 years I was a bad alcoholic and addict which got in the way unfortunately. But I have just over a year clean and things are going amazing! I'm making the kind of money that will make it possible for me to purchase literally EVERYTHING I will need to be a restorer in about a year and a half and I couldn't be more excited to finally be so close to having my dream job! Love all the work! Id give it a solid 9/10! I'll be looking out for new videos and in the mean time watching others I haven't yet seen.

As someone who has worked on boat motors for a long time I can easily spot what real corrosion that happens over time looks like. The corrosion on this piece is very uniform over most of the item, the greening is the exact same shade over the whole piece, that wouldn't happen naturally.

But..watching your work reminds me when my Dad & I would hang out . He, like you, had a do-hicky 4 every need. Most of his tools were from his Dad, (my Grand Pa, died @ 43 of appendicitis 😢) Being with my Dad, "working" w/ him ect, always soothed me-as do your videos.
