@@WolfsburgSlim Golf R AWD doesn't bolt right up to the Jetta, that was only for MkV. For this one to work they would need a bunch of parts from Audi TT.
@@ThousandBlade For a full AWD swap, the manual MK6R 2012-2013 pretty much bolts over to the mk6 Gen3 jetta (if you keep the Jetta's engine). For a DSG car it's best to swap over from an audi A3 2008-2013. This plus an IS38 swap is pretty much the setup that Charles Devine was running when he was showcased on this channel.

Only wanted to replace one tire and rotate it to the opposite side. 23k miles Damage to passenger side fender, suspension fucked cause tires were cupping and serverly uneven, rims acratched, rim getting new tire slightly bent. Other tires 4/32nds of tread remaining. Inside, clean as iff just off the lot. Outside, even without the fender damage, dirty AF.
with that type of owner, I'd be curious if he's even done an oil change or two. VERY sad!! It's the "throw-away culture" just like a smartphone mentality.

Tell me about it. Both my cars need parts right now and I would love to buy something cheaper than OEM, but it's just too much of a gamble. I spoke with my shop that does more complex, vital repairs I prefer not to touch and asked them "got any suggestions for aftermarket ?", they said no, unless it's regular maintenance item like filter, than OE supplier will do. I like cars and motorbikes so I can workaround this, but it's beyond annoying to spend so much effort on mondane stuff instead of driving or even cleaning my rides.

As a GLI owner of that same model that is NOT a 2014 GLI that is the 2016-18 yr model mk6.5 Jetta GLI I have the same model in tornado Red an absolutely beautiful car, fun to drive looks super clean and for a young driver it’s IMO one of the best cars you can get as a first car it comes fully loaded and has a baby turbo to get tho good highways speeds, plus with not to many mods it can be a better daily, depending on one’s tastes you can add a lot or a little to this car to make it your own one reason I will forever keep my GLI no matter what new cars come out as this is becoming a more rarer model to see as the years progress.
I would love a video on the easiest way to rebuild this motor after jumping time. There are dozens of cheap cars with this exact issue kicking around here.

Watched this video because I was considering trading the CC in just buying a Jetta and lo and behold same leak same spot. Took the CC to a independent german only shop with all 5 star ratings and they confirmed. $79 fix
I miss my MK6 2017 GLI 6speed. Lost her to a total loss accident after some kid rear ended. IMO they look superior to the MK7 but I know the engine is not as good.

For those wondering it is the CPPA gen 3 EA888. The reason it looks different is because the turbo is a mgt1752s not the same as the gti. Evidence: I own a 2017 GLI with the same exact engine
Reminds of when I drove fours hours to pick up a car and had specifically asked "Clean title in your name, in hand?" and was told "Yes". As Maury Povich was known to say "That was a lie". Another two hours at the title loan place and I had a title with lien release, but boy was I annoyed.
That's how my intake looked after I bought it from a volkswagon dealership. When it was time to service I was amazed. Let it soak in the k&n cleaner and washed it and it looked brand new!

I wish you would have bought my gli. 289k miles. Did the timing chain. Replaced the clutch disks. But my oil cooler went bad and I blew my coolant hose. Would have been great for your show. Have all service records.
At least it wasn't a 13' MY GLI like mines where VW designed them to grenade the engines thanks to the faulting timing chain tensioner. Mofos charged me $1.4k just to get the car back on the road even though it should have been replaced under warranty. EDIT: Saw the ending. This has had the EXACT same issue as my 2013 GLI. The tensioners are faulty (I don't care if VW said they fixed them for 2014MY, they are liars) and should have been covered under warranty/ under a class action lawsuit. Not sure if VW covered 2014 MY under the class action law suit they settled, but yeah, these are fixable. The problem is, the valves and parts that have been damage are NOT sold separately and you must heavily disassemble the engine header (at least that's what the VW tech at the dealer that fixed mines told me). Huge pain in the ass job, and not worth the value of these cars. Fuck VW, but fuck that owner more. These are NOT difficult cars to take care of and he really abused this vehicle that deserved much better.

Reasons I always go manual on used Vdubs. Don’t want to run into a neglected DSG or go through the extensive checking on the condition of the DSG.

People who own GLI's are always absolutely disgusting people. You shouldn't've given him what he was asking. He lied about half of it and you told him that it's okay if he does it when selling his next clapped out Altima. You are okay with taking those hits, but Grandma Gertrude would not be able to deal with what he lied about.
It’s also not a 2014. The rear tails are 2015+ and front bumper is 2016+
I wish you would have bought my gli. 289k miles. Did the timing chain. Replaced the clutch disks. But my oil cooler went bad and I blew my coolant hose. Would have been great for your show. Have all service records.

At least it wasn't a 13' MY GLI like mines where VW designed them to grenade the engines thanks to the faulting timing chain tensioner. Mofos charged me $1.4k just to get the car back on the road even though it should have been replaced under warranty.
EDIT: Saw the ending. This has had the EXACT same issue as my 2013 GLI. The tensioners are faulty (I don't care if VW said they fixed them for 2014MY, they are liars) and should have been covered under warranty/ under a class action lawsuit. Not sure if VW covered 2014 MY under the class action law suit they settled, but yeah, these are fixable. The problem is, the valves and parts that have been damage are NOT sold separately and you must heavily disassemble the engine header (at least that's what the VW tech at the dealer that fixed mines told me). Huge pain in the ass job, and not worth the value of these cars.
Fuck VW, but fuck that owner more. These are NOT difficult cars to take care of and he really abused this vehicle that deserved much better.
