Hi
Where to start...
This W207 2.2 CDI, has been for the last year and half from one garage to another, including Mercedes, (Which it is a bit strange...), trying to resolve an issue boost related...
the car had loads of parts replaced, including remanufactured turbos... yes, plural... this is the twin turbo model...
After a bit on investigation and familiarisation with the system, it started to become apparent were the problem was... and you will not believe that a mistake was the cause of it all....
Follow me on this video to find out what was the problem and how to resolve it.
Hope you enjoy the video.
Any questions or comments put them below.
Like always, thank you for watching!
Good job. In this case the scantool did gave you the solution...but you were probably puzzled by the amount of parts thrown in the engine bay and thought it's more complicated.
Indeed...
👍👍👍
That problem would have baffled most mechanics that’s a good fix well done
☺️
Thanks!
👍👍👍
Learning a ton about diesels on this channel. Thanks a ton man.👍💻🔧🚗
Thanks!

Bom dia Luís,
Impressionante a quantidade de pessoas que ganham dinheiro sem saberem o que andam a fazer 🤦🏻
Mais uma vez, excelente diagnóstico!
Verdade!
Obrigado!
👍👍👍
You're really gifted sir. I wish to be skilled like you.
☺️
Thanks!
👍👍👍
You all car work good look 🎉🎉 ❤ nice work 👌
☺️
Thanks!
👍👍👍
Well done mate
Thanks!
👍👍👍
Excellent Luis 👍,,, nice one 😊
Thanks!

Hello, dlephi ECU and new Bosch has current limit only few mA per sensor(short circut protect). Older ECU have one 5v reg with 1.5A or two reg with 1A. One short sensor can kill signall from all sensor.
☺️
👍👍👍
Yeah. It must be the hair going through the west gate.😂
🤷♂️
Great work again, top drawer diag 👌
☺️
Thanks!
👍👍👍
Great in depth video👏

Excelente trabalho!
☺️
Obrigado!

How many times does this happen? I see it regularly. Parts cannon boys always get cheap sensors from the usual motor factors. Always check what they look like. You can tell when its aftermarket junk. That actuator sticking out where you were showing the plug/sensor at around 50 minutes in, causes alsorts of bother as well.
☺️

Hello. Your approach to problem solving is very impressive. I have a Mercedes CLK with the same problem as a CLC from one of your old videos - I think its a faulty Electronic Ignition Switch. I can't get it fixed locally because no faults are identified when scanned and everyone tells me the car's perfect. It's actually very dangerous because the engine cuts out occasionally whilst driving. Can you help? I'm in Nottinghamshire.
Not sure how I can help...
I mean, my videos show some of the possible problems... it is a matter of investigating... I guess...
👍👍👍
@@LMAutoRepairs Yes but unlike you I haven't got the ability or equipment to dismantle, repair and reconstruct an EIS.
Testlights come in different ratings, i have several different ones for different purposes. From 50 Ma all the way up to 10 A is adequate for most testing purposes. The one you are using most likely draws 150-250 Ma, which will not light on some 5V circuits. Thank you.
Correct... and well guessed... 200ma my one...
👍👍👍
morning LUIS hate to call a ecu just in case i miss something havent yet but allways a first time
☺️
Excelent as always!
☺️
Thanks!
👍👍👍
Nice
☺️
Thanks!

U wanna check 5v with 12v test light? Dk box - sensors are working on the resistance , change resistance on the go and watch Data on diagnostic .
Depending on the signal you can... I have done it many times...
Lower current 5v supply like in this case, doesn't work... I was just trying...
👍👍👍
Dealership diagnostics procedures probably wont find an incorrect part fitted.
☺️
Possibly...
👍👍👍
best way to test sensors
use breakout leads to conect plug to sensor and then check voltage and signal
To many breakout boxes needed...
Fair enough if you work with one manufacturer only, but when you work on multiple brands, not sure if that is feasible...
But definitely make testing way easier!
👍👍👍
hello. What type of maxisys you use?new 900 series?
My one is an old model...

First half was a bit of a hard watch on this one.
47:30 you sussed it.
Rather than going through all those actuation tests, the big red flag was that sensor not reading atmospheric pressure KOEO.
55:00 Wow what a catalogue of expensive errors in that back story
☺️
👍👍👍
top
Thanks!
👍👍👍
Why not use a tripod 🥴you're filming makes me get dizzy, room for improvement there Luis.
☺️
Noted...
👍👍👍
It's 5v so you can't test it with a test light
Depending on the current you can...
I did it many times, and it is on some other videos... it is just that the bulb will not be fully bright...
👍👍👍
😅 you need a flux capacitor to test 5v reference

It's twin turbo this one
Yes...
