*CAR IS SOLD* Hope you all are well, been a few weeks since I’ve last posted as I’ve been mega busy as always. Make sure you give us a subscribe as I have a bet I want to win 😂 “see video ending” hope you enjoyed this one, and this is proof of what happens when trying to do stuff on the cheap 😂 all the best everyone.
In Portugal these cars are sold with these kilometers for around 12,000, 13,000 € without any problems! It's a shame it's not left-hand drive, otherwise I'd be happy to buy it!
That was fast! Lucky for the buyer of this car, I would have bought it as well knowing that it has been fixed & service by this shop. Great video as always, thanks...
Why not price it at £4,500 and add a very good a very good description of all you have done? I'd rather buy from you at the price than the scrappy lot on autotrader. Fantastic video as always, wish these could come every other day! 😂
Ten times better than getting a new car on lease agreement. If people live within their income they would be much happier! Great car great value, and good protection for your family. Well done.
Hi handsome. Thank you for a Fab video, I really enjoyed it. Its good saving a high milage looked after Mercedes. Lovely spec car. Wheel referbe looks great.Hope you win your challenge and a slap up expensive meal. 😂🙌
4000 GBP is a bargain, so much car for the money. Cheaper than my 2004 basic bitch R171 SLK 200 but then again mine has "low" mileage" and is very well serviced. I followed your advice and tips a few weeks back and bought it. I absolutely love it, 2 keys, full service history, brakelines and subframe are all good, no corrosion or rust anywhere, every button and function is working perfectly, etc. Thank you, Sam + team, your vids are always a pleasure to watch and I love the long form content. Never stop!
Good one with you both, for sure you were gutted when the tranny had to come out again 😢 Patience is a virtue, and you require plenty of that Good that you know the history Cheers mate Frank✅
Great video and you should be proud of yourself for training Nathan to such an extent that he can as you say "take over the job" because of the excellent training he has had at such a young age.
If only all specialist garages worked as well as yours...I can see exactly why you're closed to new customers- if I was lucky enough to be on your books I'd never go anywhere else. Please keep up the good work.
Best channel. I’ve about ten Mercs, that’s not a boast, it’s a reason to be sent to a psychiatrist. I always learn something in each episode. Quality work. Well done
Very fair price for a well sorted well spec'd car. Great content and so glad the w204 gets to fight another day! Gold star to Nathan who is now taking the lead and telling you how to do it! Hope you realise just how good this channel is, as a tech who has an S204 but am not a Merc guru I really find it helpful!
I watched this with great interest as I’ve done nearly the same thing: took a very risky punt on a facelifted 2012 197k S204 (estate) C200 CDI from BCA at £900. It’s not the sport trim like yours but it’s in better nick (unmarked) in Albandine Grey and everything works - it’s also a 6 speed manual. It said there was no history with the car but in the glovebox was everything - two services a year. It had racked up big miles going from Suffolk to Ayrshire. Quality tyres. I’ve spent well over a grand on it - gone a bit mad, but it now drives like new. Great cars!
I definitely love that you have saved this great car from the wreckers. Its one of the best things environmentally someone can do. Thanks for sharing this.
*Excellent video* : The underneath looks like new. A gearbox with only 100k on it. Lots of new bits in the last year. Come up looking great. A £500-700 premium for a 1 owner, fully serviced car, with a history with yourself as a Mercedes specialist for the last 8 years. To me, I think that's worth more, but you know your local market there. Haha, the look on your apprentice's face when you said the gb had to come out again :) All the best and greetings from Prague, CZ
I used to do exactly what you do and i was the same i would go overboard on the car and make little money if any but the buyer got a good car. Reputation is just as important as profit.
The cars condition is really well especially the under side. These W-204 are a great ride, the only issue I had with mine was with the electric steering. In the end we had the replace the rack with a reconditioned unit.
All I can say is that I wish you were in the USA. I would DEFINITELY be sending my cars to you for service and repair work! There is one other YT channel workshop in the USA similar to yours, but like you, he has to restrict customers - and as he has a shop in Kansas, he only accepts local customer cars. (Car Ninja). You guys just do it right.....we need more like you around! Thanks for the videos. I know how much work they must be to make on a regular basis!
Great humor delivered by adept language skills. Systematic and concise disclosures appreciated and enjoyed by mechanic and non-mechanic alike. A more than fair price.
"Fantastic content! 🙌 I love how you explain the repairs and maintenance so clearly. I’m looking forward to more videos, especially to your one week content. Hope one day you bring content on the love/hate w251
My first subscription ever I think. Just plain truth and I really respect that - you did go a bit far though if you want to make money at this - factor in the VAT and you made very little if sold for £4k from a £750 start (apart from labour profit which Im sure you could have on another job elsewhere anyway). However, as a you tube video it was very informative and I thank you for it. I'll watch the next with interest because I don't like Mercs to sell them, but I would like to be educated - every one I get has a glow plug light on the dash, guaranteed!!!!
Greetings from australia love your enthusiasm for your project ,and how you explain each process keep up the great content .need more honest mechanics like you guys
Well I've only just caught up on this vid. Good job I didn't see it a couple of weeks earlier otherwise I would have been tempted to buy it knowing that you've maintained it Sam. I'm already only doing about 3000 miles a year with two cars so certainly couldn't justify buying this but wow that car is SO clean. No rust or leaks underneath. Mechanically it looks like it runs like new. As others have mentioned, it's so good to see that you've given this car a second life. It so deserves it given the condition. The black wheels are not my taste on this car but as you mentioned it was the best option given how far gone they were.
Please do more of these if you can Sam, I really enjoyed that and to me its priced perfectly. I bought a one owner slightly tatty paintwork W203 in Feb for £2k with 90k and spent £800 on paintwork and around £350 on Adharaz wheels for it so I think your W204 is a good price
This is amazing content and video. It provides a real world scenario of what we would encounter and your thought process. The initial failure makes it real. you have the benefit of cheap or reduced labour tmakes this project workable.
It was a good exercise. The "free" torque converter saved the day. I'd advertise at £4.2k and let it go at £4k as you rightly say. I have a W204 2011 CGI 62k which I've owned for 11 years. Drives perfectly but not worth much (£3.75k). Loved the video. Good job you kept that torque converter!
Great stuff. I was waiting for you to say those immortal words "I've massively overspent on this one". Hope you find a good buyer for this - you and your team deserve it.🙂
I rally like your videos. As always I find the content superb. I don't own a Mercedes but I can watch these videos all day. You are good at what you do, the team are great and you have a very relaxed presenting style. Keep up the work.
WELL DONE on saving this one! Anything one owner with full history is at least worthy of strong consideration of saving. As far as having a torque converter lying about, I’d rather be lucky than good! This will definitely make someone a decent daily for awhile longer.
Really good project. Nice to see a decent vehicle being given a new lease of life. Great to know a garage team actually give a f#_k about doing things right.
This thing looks nice. Has the nice 7 spoke wheels, 2 tone interior..update..mine is a 09 kompressor in palladium silver with a black interior..would love to have got this spec here down under. Top video.
Fit centre caps without the outter spring ,doing this it stops damaging the centre cap on fitting them chinesium caps are not very striong .and you will damage them with the spring left on
I was looking at the time to go and 20+ minutes said it all.At least it's all done now. Would be a great run about for my son, he gets train to Stockport twice a week from Macc.I always share to support the channel.
I only saw the notification in a glance and I thought it was another video from Matt 🤣 Not just the title of the video but there’s also a ‘I’ve massively overspent’ vibe. And a service and a gearbox service, wheels refurbished, paint touched in, a valet and new set of number plates. 😁 (Matt would have gone with silver on the wheels though) My god, I’ve watched way too many of his videos 😁 I think it’s absolutely worth £4,000 and not a penny less.
Always nice to see an old girl saved, should prove to be a good car for someone and like you said it's been good practice for the lads, win win all round hopefully if you get the 4k
Absolutely right about these cars, when looking for a used one the owners are so high (why?) Heated seats are quite rare also. Just don't buy a red one because the paint peels.
top top vid......got a w204 on an 08 plate with 70k on the clock so i should have a few more to go to reach 200k good luck with your site.......it`s coming over tasty so your numbers will grow.
This content is excellent to watch the process and professionalism employed by this dynamic business is a credit to the automotive industry. If I lived nearer you would be my go to garage. That car is 100% worth saving I’ve seen taxis in Gran Canaria of this shape with 850000km on them I had this model in both saloon and coupe versions and they were reliable well put together vehicles. Thanks for sharing
My first instinct was to see it as a 200,000 mile plodder; a £1500 pound car, with problems. (That would probably see Matt at High Peaks massively overspend) However, it is much better than that and all the work that has been done by yourself, gives credit to that 1 owner status. It will never be a low mileage car again but why worry? Its an SPR maintained Mercedes. Will you offer the prospective buyer any warranty or service plan? That would be helpful in differentiating it from the less reliable that are around even at much lower mileage. This will sell easily once they watch this video. Good luck.
Great job. Black wheels look very gangsta. I used to have the same car in blue. Bit expensive for servicing and parts, but a classy car that looked and drived like new when I sold it. Try Nobu in London. Not the most expensive but excellent food.
The car looks absolutely great after the wash and polish. Wheels look great and black is a nice choice to offset the white. Congratulations on selling it too. Get another one to save and repeat the process.
I got £4800 for my 2012 c200 estate this year as a private sale full service history and absolutely mint. I think you have priced it right with you looking after the car since 2016 and all the work you have done
With all that history I'd add another 500 on the asking price as it's clearly been looked after. That said, it's a balance. I've got a 14 plate C200 with 54k on the clock. It's got full history inc gearbox service at 30k, pano roof and everything else that goes with it. I'd prob be lucky to sell it for 8k as I'm now looking for an E class (need a bigger car). I really enjoyed this one guys! Variance in your content is the key thing and you are doing just that. The odd bit of messing around and yanking chains from a blokes view also goes a long way. Keep the good honest work up gents :)
Hi Sam and Nathan good Job. Fair price someone will appreciate this car I am sure. keep up the good work Nathan you have a good Teacher. Greetings from Australia Rolf.
Advice to owners, if you fit new number plates, keep the old ones especially if they are original with the dealers name on them, otherwise people think it’s been in a crash, I used to get asked that so often when I was selling cars from my business after fitting plates, they do look much better, great content very useful thanks.
Great video and absolutely right thing to do giving this very attractive Merc a new lease of life. I really like the estate version of this car & still eye the adds but I’m not familiar in terms of maintenance & running costs so for now stick with my trusty 2012 A4 Avant which is proving to be very reliable possibly down to the fact most of our journeys are decent distances and we get it serviced regularly which I think is the secret for older cars.
It's hard to swallow just how easy cars are to get scrapped there. A car like that here in South Africa would still be worth fixing even if it needed an engine swap or rebuild. If you could import used cars here you would make a fortune. Great video.👍
Very interesting, I get the feeling you have been watching some @high peak autos content with your comment about the new plates :) If I was in the market for a new runabout, I would seriously consider this car as you have taken good care of it and gone above and beyond with he recent work you have done. Good luck with the sale. I don't know how to do a super like but I will find out. EDIT - it looks like a Super Thanks not a like.
Really good content, you were right ! I recently bought a X204 with an OM642 that I'm maintaining myself (because i'm an "enthusiast" as you would say) and i'm learning a lot on your channel. Thanks and keep up the good work. Cheers from the french Alps.
I would buy it without hesitation. Diesel with 200.000? That’s nice!$8000.- asking, you can then always go down. Since you’re not a car sales but a top technician your selling price is very sweet. The buyer is king of the castle.
Good video content, good training for Nathan and fundamentally a good car. All round a worthwhile exercise and even if profit margins are slimmer than anticipated someone is going to be very happy with that car.
I’ve literally just bought a two owner 2008 C220cdi elegance with 60,000 miles for £4K as a daily runner, if this had come up a week ago I’d have had it off you for sure. I value maintenance done by proper specialists like yourself and that is a big plus. That said black wheels, no no no Sam. PS Paula literally helped me with service history check on my car FOC, you guys are outstanding people. Regards from Aberdeen 🏴
As the owner of a 2017 C220 D AMG line with 56,000 on the clock this video has given me the confidence that my decision to keep it forever (I’m 71🙄) is a good one😎 Just wish I wasn’t 100 miles from you🙄
Great video as always I was going to say 4k before you said it. 200k is not mega for a diesel threats been looked after. Someone s got a good motor there thatl last them if they carry on looking after it.
Thanks for saving the car! To bad about the first gear box; they are usually very reliable, I believe. Good luck with the sale, that will be money well spent for the new owner.
Great video bring us more, reason why you say you do too much to cars to sell is you care about other people and want to do well by whoever buys car, that’s a good way to be, prob not to make money but it’s good content
Have had a 2008 C320 CDI Avantgarde with AMG interior for years, 80k km on it, best looking C class sedan in my opinion, muscular and plenty of power with all the torque on the OM642. Have same 7G gearbox, bulletproof, get it serviced every two yeras.

Loved Nathan's face when you gave him the good news. You've got some good lads
The car looks absolutely stunning. Looking underneath that car, no one would think it had done over 200k miles.
Agree 1000%
What a clean car underneath. Wouldn’t expect a 200k car to look that good.
Exactly what I was just thinking
They spent 11k on servicing 😮 but yes so clean
4000 GBP is a bargain, so much car for the money. Cheaper than my 2004 basic bitch R171 SLK 200 but then again mine has "low" mileage" and is very well serviced.
This was a great video. Shows that Mercedes can last a long time. Just take care of them. I love my S560.
Advice to owners, if you fit new number plates, keep the old ones especially if they are original with the dealers name on them, otherwise people think it’s been in a crash, I used to get asked that so often when I was selling cars from my business after fitting plates, they do look much better, great content very useful thanks.
Good advise. Stick the old ones in the boot.
At 0.07....very polite of you to ask the boss for permission to come in.
Really enjoyable saga! Your laconic humour has me grinning from ear to ear! Keep 'em coming!
You and your staff did a good job. Saving a car was a sensible idea.
Yea I know high peak is a fan of new plates also, something I’ve always done. Cheap way to brighten up a car.
@@sprautos I've seen others say that the original supplying dealer plates are a good thing - probably no major front or rear end damage in the past.
Bet they’re from Harrods aswell. Matt’s are always £15 😂
You never disappoint. Excellent video and good experience for Nathan. Keep up good work 👍
Subscribed within 10min of watching the video. Love the attention to detail you put.
My e350d is running 220k. Meticulously serviced by a similar garage. Such great value these cars and I have no PCP!
Really good content, you were right ! I recently bought a X204 with an OM642 that I'm maintaining myself (because i'm an "enthusiast" as you would say) and i'm learning a lot on your channel. Thanks and keep up the good work. Cheers from the french Alps.
Glad It helps! Thanks 🙏
+1 subscriber. I dont have a merc, but thanks for sharing the step by step process of all the repairs
Love the videos mate definitely worth the money like you said full service history plus the work on the car mate 👍
Good content is an understatement. A thoroughly well-done video. Thanks
Brilliant video...be interested to know how you got started ...you make it look easy ...
Surely a bottle of quality bubbly to the previous owner for turning up with the second key, as the Toyota slogan goes. "oh what a feeling!"
Sounds like you got a great buy there buddy.
@@sprautoswhere you guys situated?
Thanks!
Thank you John, all the best 🙏
That's excellent M.B.whit all service you have done. Love from Toronto Canada 🇨🇦.
Excellent channel. More viewers should subscribe, because your channel is absolute gold. Thank you.
Wow, thank you!
Another interesting video. I would have done the same as it would have been such a waste to scrap this nice car. Hope it sells for you.🤞🏻
As the owner of a 2017 C220 D AMG line with 56,000 on the clock this video has given me the confidence that my decision to keep it forever (I’m 71🙄) is a good one😎 Just wish I wasn’t 100 miles from you🙄
So with that amount of care attention and service plus I recon you would stand by the car - £4,500/£5,000 all day long, a great buy.
Well done & thanks for keeping the car on the road!!
Fantastic video. 4k for that car worth it all day long. Better to spend an extra 1000 and know your getting a quality car.
