i have been using GD 900 for about 8-9 years now, it holds up pretty good considering the price. The peak performance should last at least about a year, maybe more (i never let it for more though, as i reapply paste once a year when i do a deep clean of my PC and Laptop) at least that was my exp with it. I should probably mention my uptime is extremely high, as my devices are on almost 24/7
I replaced the thermal paste with GD900 in intel based mac book around 5 years ago. It seems that it has dried out this year. Still working but fans became more noisy
GD 900 is actually a generic thermal grease that's non conductive, not recommended for high end performance stuff due to it's tendency to quickly dry out but for average office and home use PC processors it was the best solution and value because of it's dirt cheap price and great performance.
@detmer87 That's for sure. But based on the bit of pump out, I don't think it's a long-term solution. For me it's perfect. But for someone that wants to apply it and forget it, it may not be the right stuff.
@@TechnologyHive GD2 is viscose compared to GD900. I have found that it requires more quantity while applying compared to MX4. I have not done any testing but only observed results. you would be the best person to get into the details. I would be waiting for your video so I can then start investing into these thermal pastes. Respect my brother for the work you do. ❤️
@frazerxavier7295 I was looking at GD2 as well. But I went with this instead. When I run out of this stuff, I'll try GD2. I was using MX-4 also 😅. But that was too expensive for just testing gpus. Hey what happened to part 2 of the 16gb mod on the 3070? Been waiting for that. Hope all is well!
@@TechnologyHive I will be working on it soon. I have reduced the queue from 63 to 26. But it keeps increasing. It's just that I haven't made time to work on it. But I will soon release part 2 of the video.
@frazerxavier7295 Excellent! I look forward to it! I know the 3070 has so much potential. Sadly, nvidia decided to cripple it with only 8GB frame buffer.
@@TechnologyHive Mx4 was too expensive for just testing GPUs? I can literally buy a 45g syringe for less than 17€ on Amazon lol its dirt cheap, so why do you have to pay so much? what are your prices? 45g 16,20€ 20g 11€ 8g 7€ this is everything but expensive? lol I just checked the prices of the paste in this video. 1€ for 38g? well yeah, thats ridiculously cheap. I see why you say that the MX-4 is expensive. I think this one is just unfathomably cheap. But the price difference is insane. the MX4 is like 0,36€ or 36 cents per gram, the Ali Express one is 0,025€ or 2,5 cents per gram, thats a 1400% markup
I use this kind of paste in our office PCs. Lasts around 4-6yrs before it dries up and causes heat buildup. By that time you would need a thorough cleaning anyway. I also use this for basic electronics that need paste like routers, chipset heatsinks, and even basic laptops without dGPUs. It also works for basic GPUs from lowly G210s and HD4350 to a 1050Ti. It also works for phones too and game consoles. When friends request some paste I just suck 0.3-0.4cc of this into a syringe and give it to them.
4-6 years is long time i used this like 8-9 ago, it hold up 3-4 years, and dried so i not use anymore since i not always clean my cpu every 3-4 years lol

@frazerxavier7295 Thank you! And I'll remember to make a video about it also. My brother from another mother!
