    How to clean the Delonghi Dedica Espresso Maker with the official descaling solution from Delonghi. There are a few things you should know before cleaning the espresso maker that will help you clean it quickly and back to making great espresso every time.

    Will keep your machine running smoothly so you can always enjoy your favorite espresso beverages.
    Delonghi bundles one package of the cleaning solution in with their Espresso maker which is a great feature to include. I really like that this machine has an automatic sensor inside that will detect internal buildup. This will lead to accurate cleaning because different hardness of waters will cause buildup at different rates.

Also, I highly recommend getting a non-pressurised basket - it was a total game changer for me. Otherwise, the machine is pretty disappointing with the standard baskets.

    What if you have done this but the orange light is still there afterwards?

      I have had that happen, I just run the cycle again with clean water to flush the system. That has cleared it out for me.

    Hi, I used to descale my coffee machine every 2-3 months and now it’s been more than 5 months since the last descale process..I am using it every day at least 2 times, just wondering could I descale it by my own, without the light flashing? Should I be worried that’s it isn’t requiring to descale? Thanks in advance.

    • @JJShankles
      @JJShankles  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wouldn't worry that it doesn't need to descale, but it also wouldn't hurt to run a descale cycle if you want to.

    Do you have a review on a mid range quality drip or pour over hot or cold coffee brewer? I’m looking at a daily easy to maintain brewer. (:

      @JJShankles  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't finished my review yet, but I have a Ninja drip coffee maker that I love. I have had it for several years and it is super easy to use and makes good coffee. I really like that it is a single serve coffee maker that doesn't use K-cups. This is the version that I have, but there are newer models out there: amzn.to/2LEWt8p

    I descaled mine 3 weeks ago (which was only after about 2 months from purchase), and yesterday morning it gave me again the same warning 🤦🏻‍♀️ do you have any idea why that is?

    Hey! How long did your machine run well until? I've had to change the motor about 1.5 years ago years ago because it was not pushing out the coffee. I also find that if i fill it up with coffee grind and stamp too hard on it, it won't push it out and stop. So I use 1 full scoops into the 2-scoop cups. The machine is now about 4 years old :)

    • @JJShankles
      @JJShankles  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mine still runs great, and I've had it for 2.5 years now. I have found that if I over load it or over tamp it then it will struggle, but that's pretty rare.

    Descale last month and after few weeks it asked me to descale again. I tried only fresh water. Will it harm the machine? Do you have video to properly use the machine? I bought it second hand no manual.

    Is it normal for the nozle to spray more hot air than water?

    • @JJShankles
      @JJShankles  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you want to add heat and air to the milk, too much added water will just water it down

    • @JJShankles
      @JJShankles  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I only use filtered water, and I still run the descale cycle but I don't treat it like it is urgent when the red light starts blinking. I'm not totally sure how important it is since I never see any scale coming out in the process.

    JJ Shankles Is it possible to use Melittas "Anti Calc Tabs" which really are meant for filter coffee and aqua machines? If so then how should you dissolve the tab? It says that one tab should be mixed with 500ml water and once you've done that I assume you would get something like the DeLonghi Eco Decalk, so you would add 100ml of this liquid into the tank and then fill it up with water to max?

      You could try brewing espresso to see if that turns the light off, but it might need another cycle if the light is still on.

    Tried procederé today even machine has a month of use only. 1 cup works fine... 2 cups button the cofee is very low qty... Manual does not say about auto stop/fastee flash of orange light /rinse product.
    Manual says "fill 100 ml of solution until max line of container..." but machine stops the program and even is 1/3 of water and descaler. so you hace to use less water on the tank.
