    Thank you for so clearly explaining. Even the mishap was perfect and now etched in my memory. Fantastic

    It's easier to set the 16-PADS to rhythm buttons and press those when you record to a sequence.

    Please include subtitles in Russian for the entire Roland Fantom video series. I own this beautiful Roland Fantom 8 machine. And a very long time customer and user of the Roland & Boss brand. The market of your Russian-speaking client will be absolutely grateful and glad for such support.

    Ed great videos can you do a video on working at building up multiple partials with for eg.LFO step changing / sample usage to create unique rich tones, plus more Ableton interaction would be great

    Hi Ed, thank you for your extremely helpful tutorials. Is it possible to do it also the other way around: record your own intros, verses, fill-ins and endings with the sequencer and then save your homemade patterns in the 'User' goup of Rhythm Patterns? Greetings from Germany! 👋🏽

    as always, Ed, you do a great job of explaining these functions, however, to me, personally, I can't understand why people don't just program their drums on their own , it is so easy with these keyboards, I have never found a need for preset rhythms.....

    Thanks for you video and I have a question
    Can I transpose the song? System > Sound > Master key
    and Is there no the interactive chord like JD-XI in a pattern of FANTOM
    I just found "coarse tune" of pitch menu of ZONE and ptn utility > modify > transpose > bias
    These are NOT GOOD :(

    Hi Ed
    On a different subject but is there a way on the fantom 07 to crossfade between song sections. For examply when I started a lead on a clip it kicks in but I would prefer to hear it start as the clips change. or does this need to be done on a daw.

    Great Ed. Can you have a different drum kit for each variation A,B,C,D etc

    • @christianthompson1473
      @christianthompson1473 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You would need to put each variation on a different track, then yes.

    Dumb question: is this just transferring the pre-programmed rhythm patterns into the sequencer? Is there a way to record custom rhythm patterns and then assign them to the 16 pad buttons? I feel like that would be rather useful.

  • @reald5183
    @reald5183 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Great this way to record a pattern BUT there's no way to insert a different time signature neither to load correctly a midi file with different time signature ... a tempo track would be very very useful too ...

    I need to Edit my own rithm patterns, and save this to rithm pattern key menu, this must be better

      We have mentioned this to the engineers and I hope that this will be available in future updates.

      I also hope that in the next update they also include a piano roll key to advance the melody or start it at an advanced point in a long pattern for continue edit. Thanks so much Ed Diaz for answer

      @@EdDiazKeys your engineers are sleeping I guess... As it is, rhythm pattern is just a gimmick... Do smth over there, you sell something and it's somehow incomplete... Another thing is the lack of time signatures... 4/4 and 3/4 only? Seriously now? What about 7/8ths? Or I'll say that my super duper workstation synth can't do 7/8th or any other odd time signatures? What about recording without a predetermined pattern length? I don't even mention the pads which for some stupid decision to cut costs, they are not dynamic... Please, tell them they have work to do and they must hurry...

    Hi Mr Roland ! I realize that the rhythms are always imposed by the keyboard. No way to create your own rhythms ?

  • @ndenkha
    @ndenkha ปีที่แล้ว

    How do you make the drum pattern to have pauses in it?

  • @SunlightOfTheSpirit
    @SunlightOfTheSpirit 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    If you are planning on buying this synth then be informed that this doesn't have a traditional sequencer on it. It has a very slow, basic, rudimental Ableton Live clip style that has a 32 bar limit. Even though this is called a Fantom, it is not a workstation so please don't make that mistake. Roland have no plans to include a traditional linear sequencer as this is mainly a performance synth. Furthermore, although it os a flagship, it doesn't have the same acoustic realism as say the Integra 7 which is a major disappointment. The onboard drum sounds are similar to a Casio keyboard and have no character and the TR drum sounds are not the same as on the TR-8s which are far superior in realism which means you'll need to buy another piece of hardware to get quality drum tones. Samples cannot be time stretched or manipulated in real time. You basically have to use a DAW to edit samples then import over USB ???? which is super slow and import at the BPM and key of the track you are working on.

    • @heru32288
      @heru32288 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm having an issue with this now that I got it a year later ..your right it ...it seems you have to edit your samples at the bpm you like before putting into the keyboard which should be an easy task for the lastest flagship ...I'm hoping I'm wrong but that's so disappointing after paying 4000. And you still feeling like you cant do everything you want smh ...

    Rythem pattens live on part 10.... As i asked you before Ed! Track 8 would be better so its on the 8 track screen.

    • @EdDiazKeys
      @EdDiazKeys 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think this is due to the history of drums being on track 10. A work around would be to move the recorded patterns to part 8 once they have been recorded.
