    Roland needs to bring back Skip Back Sampling button. That saved me countless times trying to remember what I played during “practicing/doodling”.

    Nice. Put it out simple and straight. These workstations used to intimidate with steep learning curves. Now its simple even for amateurs trying to express their musical ideas. Was looking at MoDX to replace my now truly dead korgTR but the Fantom looks more friendly

    Great walkthrough of the Fantom sequencer. How does one change the tempo within the same song, nothing in the manual on this I don’t believe? I have managed to slave the Fantom using MTC in Logic Pro X sending MTC to change the tempo but live on stage this is not so practical. Any suggestions? Thanks.

      EDub Roland has already said they will be adding features for years to come through software updates. They've already released 15 sound expansions and a few more features through updates. There is a ton of reserve power under the hood so it's only going to get better. So far, they're keeping their word. I do own the Fantom 6.

    • @fmagic2000able
      @fmagic2000able 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@anthonynewcomb1069 I'll believe it when I see it. You should buy gear based on what it can do at the time of release not on a "promise" from what they may deliver. Otherwise, you will set yourself up for disappointment; on the other hand, it is good they have released updates. But Roland needs convince people like me that they will continue to support their products consistently over time like Yamaha has done with its Motif XF updates in the past.

      You CANT sample to the Keyboard...only to a pad (which is not even touch sensative) the New Fantom doesnt have a real sampler...its like the FA series...just 3 times the price. I have researched the hell out of the new Fantom...and unless Roland do a HUGE software upgrade its a Fail as a workstation...it doesnt even have a proper sequencer either....and NO Audio trackx.

    That was a very intuitive sequencer, very well done Roland!!! I am assuming though, since we have 16 tracks that those tracks can be muted and started with the 16 pad buttons so we can control the sequence on the fly??? Using a touch screen while performing does not work for a musician, need to use those 16 pads for performance function.

      A decent computer with enough ram and the space can cost you about $1200. A computer monitor $300. A decent DA converter about $500. Studio speakers about $200. A medium size midi controller about $300. Abelton Live Standard $360. We are at $2,660. You have about $639 left to equal the amount of the Fantom 6. Not much left for good quality libraries and plugins to buy.

    • @YouTubeSupportTeams
      @YouTubeSupportTeams 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nelauren you're missing the point, I use Roland products to make music outside the box, except I can do it for under 1k and already have a computer as does everyone in 2019 which can be used for final touches ONLY if required, any mid range cheap computer can do this and audacity is a powerful free tool to do so. Anyone spending 3k on a Roland workstation already has a computer, please don't be stupid, so add your overpriced 1200 dollar computer and the 200 dollar speakers to the fantom as your going to need the speakers no matter what. You've now spent well over 4k when you could have had a computer, daw and plugins for life for around 2k and thats if they're all bought and not pirated. By your figures you'd be paying too much to make music in the box. You don't need a 1200 dollar gaming machine to make music. My point is still valid. This workstation is an incredible waste of money

    I am torn between the Korg Kronos 2 and the Roland Fantom. I can't really play the piano properly with both hands and am used to doing small sections when it comes to the piano. Which is easier to make samples/drum beats and then be able to arrange them into a song?

      Bryn Morgan they’re both great, but what type of music are you into?

      @@brynmorgan1614 Yeah Both would be great, I would give the slight edge to the Fantom in sound design and it does have amazing sounds, apart from that, the I/O is much better on the fantom compared to the Kronos. The Kronos however has A large space of hard drive if you want to load samples. Trade off is slow startup compared to the Fantom.
      I would prefer for myself the Fantom to integrate it with Mainstage and use my sounds through the Fantom itself. Oh and the Fantom has an analog filter as well!

      Cheers for that @@clayton_jansen! Now I checked out the FA-6/FA-8 as well - have you tried out any of them and how do the compare to the Fantom in terms of putting a track together from scratch?

      Bryn Morgan no I actually didn’t. For me though I don’t own the Fantom, i would be able to easily understand the sequencer since i have ableton.

    I was very convinced but I went into a music shop and them keys are so soft they aren't even semi weighted. I was very surprised. :/
