@@ThePlKLE The stealth game closest to MGSV is Ghost of Tsushima... Ubisoft is VERY far from reaching the level of excellence of GoT... I consider it almost impossible for it to reach the level of perfection of MGSV.

@@ThePlKLE I stopped playing Splinter Cell since PS1 and stopped playing Ubisoft games since PS3 (after Black Flag) For Ubisoft to be able to get me to play their titles again, they're going to have to do a LOT of work.
@elbuglione there are no splinter cell games on ps1. Every splinter cell game was on ps2/xbox until conviction and blacklist which were on 360. The last one was made before ubisoft started their downfall. If you have access to anything that can play original xbox games, I'd highly recommend trying chaos theory, or if you have a ps3, blacklist is very solid too. As a fan, I was both amazed and a little disappointed at the same time due to the unfinished story. But overall looking back on it...I can still have a good time regardless
I'd highly recommend trying out the other games in the series as well, the MGS Collection is a pretty solid way to experience 1-3 atm, plus there are some good mods if you get it on PC. There's a reason it's generally considered the best stealth series out there, the insane attention to detail in all of the 3D games is rivaled by very few, even the PS2 era games like MGS2 have ridiculous little details like being able to shoot a cup full of ice and watch the ice melt on the countertop in real time, and that's not even mentioning all of the crazy interactions the different gameplay mechanics have. Plus the story is just peak campy insanity yet it still somehow manages to be an extremely good plot with well written characters and an effective anti-war message. That said though, for MGS1 I would recommend just emulating it if you have a PC. If you don't care about complete accuracy to the original hardware, emulating it through Duckstation is a much smoother and nicer looking experience with all of the enhancements it has, like upscaling, widescreen hacks, fixing the wobbly geometry, etc, etc.
In 2008 had to decide between keeping Peace Walker or Portable ops. Lucky i kept Portable ops, since the Anthology came out with Peace Walker on the ps3. So now i can play both.

I was completely PUNISHED for it! I had to walk around until the next mission!!!! It was AWESOME!!! Lol i love the small things. Also yeah I love how the guys at motherbase thank you for slapping them up LOL and yes we TOTALLY need a new splintercell!

Sat there for like 9 years until I decided to give it another chance, this time with an open-mind. Idk wtf I was thinking, man was I slacking. What a great game.
This is the best video game ever made and best Metal Gear Solid Game ever made regardless of what the crazy fanatics say. The whole mission 51 thing is their only excuse to say this game is bad. That mission was officially discarded by Kojima and his team, so it is not an unfinished game like some people claim it to be. There is no MGS and no video game out there that plays as smoothly as MGSV. I love everything about this title and it completely obliterates the old titles. I have played all the MGS games and surely, they all have amazing stories, but MGSV is amazing for the gameplay and that is what keeps so many people playing it after all this time.
I absolutely love MGS. But, I haven't played this one. I know it will be epic, it's just the cut scenes..... I do not have hours to play at a time due to having a job and children. I loved MG4 but I found watching a 25 minute cut scene before getting to even play was too much! And the cut scenes are frequent! The problem is the cut scenes are so good that you don't want to skip them which just makes the game not really an option when you have limited time. The gameplay for the MGS game's though is epic, every one of them! If you have the time, they are an absolute must!!!
Actually this game has way less frequent cutscenes and theyre not as long, the longest cutscene is maybe about 5-8 minutes as far as i know, this is one of the biggest criticisms for this game that story takes a backseat
this game is different in that it ACTUALLY wastes your time by making you travel through barren wastelands with the occasional uninspired guard posts. its fun occasionally but if you don't have the time to have your time wasted (there's a lot of time wasted) then its really not worth it. whenever i go back and play the original metal gear games, its infinitely more fun to skip the cutscenes and mess with the guards in the variety of areas rather than run through the desert/forest and pick off guards in generic base camp 1/2/3.
We can believe it! Your probably playing all star baseball 1999 currently! Haha... this game is incredible though! I didnt play the other MG games either besides the 1st one on nintendo... mg5 is one youd enjoy playing through again for sure, I was same and had no idea how to play at first. I think I beat it 2 maybe 3 times. You can use other soldiers too.. the game doesnt end either, it does but it let's you keep playing...very weird in that regard

This is honestly what ive been chasing all my life. Not the gameplay but the storyline was epic it keeps you engaged. I play alot of these new games and I find myself skipping dialogue cause the story is so boring lol
Well. The Game got it issues yes and the Missions can be repetitive, butt I damn enjoy how to expertise each Missions and making the stealth pretty joyable. And just more joyable than the former games. I own the PS3 Version and it's an impressive port and one of the last games on the PS3. And you got the full game on a PS3 Disc, beside the FOB isn't available anymore, just on PC & PS4 and I think the XBONES.
Oh buddy you're missing out a *lot* If you want the definitive tactical stealth game, this is the series you're looking for. I think I'm close to spending 400 to 500h+ into this game combined, I 100% this game around 3 times during my college and early career.
The fact that this is your first impression of a metal gear solid game is truly heartbreaking and I would recommend you play every single other Metal Gear Solid game except this one
I mean my first one was MGS1 and I would not recommend for an introduction especially if you didn’t play PS1 games. I knew I was cooked when I had to look up the wall for ocelot boss fight. I think that was the only time I looked something up. MGS3 is probably the best in terms of mechanics and communicating with the player a lot more on where to go and what to do. It’s also the start of the series so it catches people up with everything in the series up till that point.
Amen. Started with MGS3 myself and then mastered it on HD collection on 360. Had to go buy a PS3 for Metal Gear Solid 4 and it was so worth it @@MacyP

Yes it was released unfinished...
This video game is almost 10 years old since its release. Imagine a remake with some adjustments to the story line and its ending.
MGSV is one solid game, the gameplay is fantastic, I spent around 600 hours playing it
Picked this up when it was released but hardly scratched the surface...might have to dig it out of storage and give it another shot
Bro you sitting on gold😅...
Would hope they bring back a Splinter Cell game. Another great stealth series that needs attention.
You're pretty good.
I have had this game for about 12 yrs. Have not opened or played it.
Damn. This man had the game 3 whole years before the rest of us. Lucky bastard. Lol.
This is honestly what ive been chasing all my life. Not the gameplay but the storyline was epic it keeps you engaged. I play alot of these new games and I find myself skipping dialogue cause the story is so boring lol
Wait till you play the other ones man you're in for a treat
Thats the thing about MGSV, it is a PS3 game, and till today it feeld next gen, it an is amazing game
Mgsv + steam deck + hdmi + TV = good times
Great review. Bro looks like he hasnt HEARD OF SLEEP SINCE 2015 LOL
You should play the series. They are all very different stealth games but all extremely good.
Go back n play them all in sequence. They’re all the best games of their time. Still good to this day
Okay Deus Ex Human Revolution.
MGSV is to "controlling a character" what Gran Turismo is to "controlling a car"
One of the most satisfying games to just move around
Drew scanlon got me into this game.
Oh buddy you're missing out a *lot*
If you want the definitive tactical stealth game, this is the series you're looking for.
I think I'm close to spending 400 to 500h+ into this game combined, I 100% this game around 3 times during my college and early career.
Have you played Batman Arkham Knight? That game it's a awesome Stealth game that fits perfectly in your description about 2015 games
Had to go buy a PS3 for Metal Gear Solid 4 and it was so worth it @@MacyP
agree with recommending him to play every single one but L opinion, mgsv is a masterpiece
@@JJLiew it feels like PW mechanics expanded but just too much going on. PW Portable Ops it was easy for base management and upgrades but now for MGSV it feels like a hassle later in the game compared to the the others I mentioned which are harder in the beginning compared to the latter half of the game
Story wise your right but mechanically the phantom pain shits all over the first four the gameplay is perfect basically
Always use D-Dog as your partner because he show where all the enemies are
Quiet too, and the robot…I guess the horse is really the only one who doesn’t look out for you at all.
I play until this day i want to reach all S++ soldiers in my bases
Never played V and bought it for 12$ on sale from the ps store. I would’ve easily payed full price for this. It’s soo entertaining
