the friends who "betrayed" her actually planned all of this together to prevent her from getting those fake blessings. Those 9 knew the consequences of each "blessings" that's why they all put an act as if they were consumed by greed for her not to know the real reason.
Thank you so much for reacting to this! Also, to make it sadder. It wasn't that they betrayed her, they tricked the Messiah into thinking they were betraying her when in reality they were sacrificing themselves to keep their friend alive because they knew the truth of the blessings. In the final chorus of the song as they describe their deaths, you see the real faces they had when they 'betrayed' her.
The Messiah's friends never betrayed her they only acted like they did so she would continue to the altar. They each knew the nine blessings were actually curses that the Messiah would have to endure all alone and suffer for, but because of a promise they made: "We will face all our fortune and pain as one", they wouldn't let her suffer all alone. So when she reached the altar atop the tower that's when the Messiah learned the truth about her friend sacrificing themselves for her and the sake of their world.
The Real Jumin As they go through the Tower, you’ll notice that when they each steal a blessing, they have a pose and an expression that makes them look evil. When they each explain how they died/suffered, in the background they are making those exact same poses with expressions that are calm and/or sorrowful. Essentially, the story is told by Miku (the Messiah). She is naturally hurt by her friends, and she unconsciously demonizes them. It sounds terrible, but that’s kind of what humans usually do when they get upset by someone - trick themselves into believing that the other person is just flat out mean, stupid or just want to make them suffer when it almost never actually is the case. Miku is especially mad at Kaito (the “young man” who took the first blessing) and Len (the younger twin that took the last blessing), which makes sense because they dealt the first and last “blow.” In other words, in Miku’s eyes, Kaito was the first betrayer who started the chaos, and Len was the one who disallowed her from ever receiving a blessing. You’ll notice that their two perceived expressions look even more sinister than all of the others because of this. Also, there are some more settle hints: When Kaito took his blessing, he said, “we share both joy and pain.” In other words, he told her “we will not let you suffer alone.” Mayu (the younger sister) could not bear the thought of being in a world without her sister, and therefore ran to her blessing - she just couldn’t bear it. At one point, Miku reminds the group that she was supposed to receive a blessing, and the group replied “we won’t let you.” In other words, “we won’t let you get hurt.” The final hint is that when Rin (the elder twin) receives her blessing, she pushes him out of the way- not Miku. She doesn’t even want to give him the choice to live a little longer, she’s making him do it. You can also see Len in the background, just heartbroken and trying hopelessly trying to reach for her one last time. Reaching towards her (also in the direction of the blessing) was not counted as betrayal. Edit: also, in the original lyrics, it states (in translation, of course) that the 9 were “innocent sacrifices.” If they had truly betrayed her, the 9 would not be innocent.
You missed the point of the song - Her friends sacrificed their lives so that the Earth was able to live because of the punishment cast upon them by God. Miku’s only objective was to light the flame on the alter and she wouldn’t have been able to do that if her friends didn’t sacrifice themselves... Which is why they show up at the end and basically say “We would never betray you.” Before vanishing, letting Miku light the flame. There weren’t any false blessings, that line “The blessings were nine sorrows in disguise.” Signifies that Miku now realizes that her friends had to sacrifice themselves so she could succeed, so while those blessings bless the Earth, they are the source of her sorrow.
All of her 9 comrades knew of these "fake" blessings. And that is one reason why they accompanied her to the Tower of AI. So that they can protect her themselves, by giving up their own lives for her sake.
Actually to save the world there needed to be sacrifices, they knew what they had to do to help their friend. The nine friends knew they weren't really blessings and that the idea was for the messiah to suffer trough them alone but they didn't want her to have to go through the pain alone so they helped her shoulder the pain by taking on the nine 'blessings' (we will face all our fortune and pain as one)
Here's another one I'd like to request whenever you have the time to get to it. Ai no Scenario: th-cam.com/video/eeh-P6IQyek/w-d-xo.html This one is a lot less heartwrenching than this one. Like before, I linked the english version to make it a lot easier to react to.
Nice react over there.but that was a sacrifice by the messiah's friend, they were already know that was not the blessing from the first place,so they decided to save the Messiah and ended to sacrifice then selves.
