They knew the "blessings" (Here the miraculous) were more like curses. They knew that if the messiah (here guardian) touched them she would experienced what said in the end (Drowing,burning,ect...). To protect her they took the "curses" on themselves, they aren't dying,they "just" suffer forever so the messiah can protect the earth. Ps: Sorry for the grammar I'm French.
If the deaths are the same then you must didnt change the blessings I dont like it the normal is more better and 4:56 she doesnt look sad she is happy about it she is like "oh nothing happens ok ima just smile"
