IThank you so much for this tutorial! I really enjoyed it. Brand new to painting, and I am almost 55 yrs young! you are never too old to learn something new! can't wait to see more of your videos!
I'm new to painting, needed something to keep me busy in retirement. I'm loving your videos they are very informative and I cant wait to try a seascape now.
I really loved this one Clive, I've watched ALL of Bob Ross's paintings that have been published on TH-cam, I guess that's what kept tripping me up on your seascape and how ur waves crashed on the last one I watched and commented on...you are such a good artist! Everyone isn't Bob, I'm certainly not, but HE was the person who started my love of art!!!
CLIVE5ART I have them saved too...he did amazing art, he changed the whole art industry Alexander started...he was amazing, and his son Steve has his ability, but not his style in drawing ppl in like his dad did...but that doesn't underestimate Steve's ability to paint!
I have about 200+ of his paintings saved...I enjoy you showing how he treated a canvas so it stayed till you put white over...it's an awesome method...you are a fun teacher!
Ty so very much. You do such a great job explaining. Been watching a lot of artists who've been painting "perfect" pics, and I've been struggling and thinking I just can't paint because of mistakes. It just never dawned on me they were edited even thought they start n stop then part of painting was done...I needed you...Nice paint in NC by the way. I will be watching you more. Again ty!
Thank you Clive for the wonderful painting and clear explanation! I want to learn to paint the ocean and it's been a bit intimidating. This is so helpful.
This is great for me because I've already try to do ocean scenes but the waves .... hmmm bad! :) I used a filbert brush. I will follow this painting of you step by step to overcome my wave problem :) Thank you Clive. Always a pleasure to watch your videos.
I love seascapes and painting them(anything with water), and yours are very doable and are well taught. But thank you for the referral to Bob Ross because I thought he only did mountains, landscapes. Personally, I like paintings showing motion(water) and silhouettes (because of the contrasts) are great too, but in order to learn to paint better ,I want to learn to paint still lifes better, so I would appreciate more instruction on that. You know abstract pears, abstract flowers in a painterly style.
I have still life on the channel flowers, apples, eggs you just need to go to the playlist section and have a look #clive5art Wishing you well with your painting
Thanks for putting out these videos, they are very helpful. I would like to request a video on how to paint a classic, overcast sky/oceanscape like you would see in California, maybe something you would see in Big Sur from the cliffs from above....You can barely tell the difference between the sky and water, maybe some fog/marine layer....Thanks!
I uderstand what your saying this is just a easy get started painting I have loads on the channel have a look in the playlist section there should be something for you there
I am using artists loft slow dry blending jel. Also i seem to use so much paint. Its my first time to do this, but my paint are still thicker and they wont go across the full canvas. I tried to look at what medium you rcusing but it wont let me get your link. Im british but live in the states. And have been having trouble getting information from uk. Oh and i love your videos
hey Clive.. i love your tutorials, they are soo simple and inspiring. my ques is, what are u using as thinning agent.. that white liquidon top right..?
Must be related to ROSS! You Sound like Bob. So are you like Ross and not selling any of your art too? Just found you here on TH-cam and I am excited to see your talent. Well done w this wave. Thanks.
Do you always paint your basic seascapes with a grey underpainting? Could it also add depth if you allow some of the grey paint to show through? I viewed a painter adding grey and she indicated she did this to show distance and bring out the colors more
I use grey normally if I re use a canvas to blank out the other painting grey can work in the way you said tho I think 🤔 I just look what ground could work well with the colours I’m using
Wonderful painting. Can you make more landscape paintings for people who are brand new to painting? Maybe without having to mix so many colours together?
I had a stroke 7 years ago so it’s very possible the key is not to worry about it just paint to relax also meditating is key it helps lower cortisol levels thus helping the brain to heal I lost my memory after the stroke and concentration was low but I found art again then started to make lessons on youtube just for my art group to follow and it grew to today I paint everyday for at least an hour and meditate for at least 1/2 hour getting over a stroke is like learning to walk again you can do it you just need to except that it will take time I hope my words help, you in someway clive
Don't put yourself down its your painting so he proud of that we should never try to compare our work to others just strive to improve to make us happy I'm not as good as the masters but I'm still improving we are all in the same boat
You are the best teacher ever! Thanks Clive!

That was BEAUTIFUL. Could you make some paintings with ships and boats?
Please check the iCards or go to th-cam.com/users/Clive5art playlists
im going to try this one
You made probably the easiest wave tutorial.. other painters make it seem much more complicated
Thank you 😊
hey Clive.. i love your tutorials, they are soo simple and inspiring.
my ques is, what are u using as thinning agent.. that white liquidon top right..?
Just a mix I made myself to stop under-binding it’s in my shop medium mix www.clive5art.co.uk
Are your acrylics heavy body?? Or does it matter?? Thank you & I absolutely LOVE the painting ❤❤
Does not matter but all heavy body means is that is contains more pigment and is slightly thicker that’s all really
very nice -turquoise waters!
Glad you enjoyed
After watching your video,,I am ready to try a wave again!!! I don't have any paint thickener tho,,,
Great to hear try some modelling paste or heavy gel paste or impasto gel that can thicken the paint also
Must be related to ROSS! You Sound like Bob. So are you like Ross and not selling any of your art too? Just found you here on TH-cam and I am excited to see your talent. Well done w this wave. Thanks.
