Hi Clive,
Enjoy watching you and especially enjoyed this session. Have tried the modeling paste and am now painting the the seascape and it’s turning out just lovely.i am from Nova Scotia, quite a distant from Wales. Have only crossed the pond once to visit Ireland. Keep up your wonderful work, and I will keep learning how to paint these wonderful pieces of art. Thank you!
Happy you like it keep up the good work thank you
Hi Clive. I LOVE this tutorial. Thank you
Thank you 🙏
Love how bright your colors are! Great video! ❤️❤️❤️🎨🎨🎨
When painting on a white canvas the colours are more luminous grounds can dull them but good for tonal matches
Absolutely Beautiful, I really enjoy listening to you and watch you pain. You make it look so simple

Thanks you I enjoy talking as if I’m with company I enjoy sharing and painting
Beautiful painting - have to experiment with modeling paste alittle more because I love the textured paintings- I've used it before on textured lighthouses and really enjoyed the outcome. Thank you so much!
That’s great please keep at it and do what makes you happy that’s all that counts
This is my first video of yours but definitely will not be my last! Thank you. I am eager to try modeling paste.
So kind of you Thank you all my videos use #clive5art in the search bar
beautiful
Clive, this is beautiful!! It is my next project. Thank you!!😊😊🎨👩🎨👩🎨...Suki
Thank you keep up the hard work
Clive, you are amazing. I'm brand new to acrylics (and painting) and I'm very glad I found your channel. Not only are you good at painting, but I love listening to your stories as you paint. I feel like I'm in your painting; I can hear the waves. Thanks for narrating your techniques (I have so many of your videos to catch up on), even if you've spoken about your techniques before. It helps me to hear information over and over.
I'm sure you taught this somewhere, so a reference is perfect. Do you always show distant formations in a lighter color? Or are there times when you use darker colors for distance? I thought I learned that light colors "pop" forward. As you can see, I'm a bit muddled with my information.
Again, you are a treasure. Thank you for sharing your expertise. --nina from Chicago, US.
Firstly thank you so much it’s alway like having friends around as I paint it truly makes my day. Keep up with you painting journey it’s truly rewarding. Normally in landscapes the rule is light distance moving slowly darker to the foreground as it will look flat otherwise try and create depth, but I always try to be a rebel sometimes it works others it don’t but that’s art we need to be creative
Hi my friend! This is such a beautiful painting, one day I hope to visit across the pond, and all the beautiful places! You all are such nice people! I liked the story of the lady who jumped into the sea.. Where I live there's a place about 10 minutes away called Noccalulla Falls and a Cherokee princess jumped into the falls because she couldn't be with her love.. It's called Noccalulla Falls.. Beautiful place.. Thank you for sharing!! I'll definitely try the paste technique! 🙂🎨
Great story thank you so much for your comment keep painting
CLIVE5ART thank u too!! I've had a huge mental block for almost a month!! I'm working on one now.. No reference photo tho.. Lol I think I took out my frustrations on the sky.. 🙄🤣 Are u on Instagram? I'm friends with Chrissy and we follow each other.. I'll go look now! Take care and thank u for sharing Clive!!
I love your artwork and how much dedication you share in teaching us how to be better painters. I watch some of your videos over and over! Beats my college classes for sure! My question is can we sell our painted works from your teaching sessions??? Thanks!!!
Thank you so kind yes please I’m happy for you to do that
Like it might give texture a try, after I have finished my copy of constibles heywain still loving copying the masters. But got a terrible habit of working on too many paintings at once and things get left
Know that feeling wow the Haywain big project but I know you can do it keep up the good work
Hi Clive. Thank you for sharing this. Very good tutorial as usual. Could you please make a video on how to remove varnish from paintings? I bought the remover that was recommended on the varnish bottle but it also took of some paint.
When we varnish the paintings you need an isolation coat as the first coat then a removal varnish is used so when you remove the varnish the isolation coat will remain in place
CLIVE5ART thank you for the tip. I have read up on varnishing and watched many videos but never heard about isolation coat before. Maybe I just missed out on this info. I shall try this on my next painting. Again, thank you for taking the time to reply and thank you for uploading these amazing tutorials :)
