Wow... Estonia is already done with the fleet of GE C36's?!?!?! I guess they did have quite many years of service in Estonia. Seems like just a blink ago, Estonia was switching to them to replace Russian engines.
I hope that of these 22, at least 2 would be preserved, one to be preserved there, even as a static display, and one to be repatriated back to the US, regauge it back to standard gauge, and restore it to operating condition. And paint it either in its original Union Pacific livery, or the livery of the railroad that bought her, the Missouri Pacific.
At least one should stay in Estonia and be in the Wisconsin Central inspired red and yellow paint with the Eesti Raudtee lettering, after all, they spent more time in Europe than in the USA.
Hi, Are you Guys keeping bits for sale at the Museum? For instance one of the Museums here in Australia sold sets of the bells that rang during Shunting plus the Loco Number Glasses, or sets of the builders plare and other Badges/Ornaments to subsidize Museum Running Costs. Also things like Loco driver panels with gages and meters and switches. All of these things are collectable and help pay for Museum costs. A important historic video, which you will be able to edit in to give a full overview of the life of these workhorses in Estonia.
