    I have created a UTM link to a website that is not mine. In Google analytics I have no data, I do not have the campaign tab.
    How do I link this website to my Google analytics so that my UTM link can work?

    • @DigitalMarketingExtreme
      @DigitalMarketingExtreme  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not 100% sure I understand your situation but UTM parameters are added to links on other websites that point back to your website. If someone clicks on the link, that will cause information to show up in your Google Analytics account.
      You might not a Campaign tab if you are using the new Google Analytics 4 version. This video refers to what is now called "Universal Analytics" version of Google Analytics.

    I would love to make an utm-sheet for the overview over all of my ads and unique utm-tags. Do you use overview-sheet for this?
    If so, would be you be able to share it with us? :)
    Thanks!

    Hi, thanks for the video! Can you point me to any documentation on how to set up in Google Analytics reports that look at source, medium and campaign name? I get kind of lost after creating the UTM URL. I know how to create it but do not know how to get GA to report on it. Thanks!

    • @DigitalMarketingExtreme
      @DigitalMarketingExtreme  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The UTM parameters of source, medium and name are just values that can show up in any number of Google Analytics reports. Basically, you are tagging that traffic to separate it from other traffic sources or mediums. The easiest way to see this is to go to the Acquisition -> All Traffic -> Source/Medium report. You will see your UTM parameters here. But, again, they will show up on any report that can display the source, medium or name values.

      @@DigitalMarketingExtreme Thanks but how does GA know which parameters to look for?

    • @DigitalMarketingExtreme
      @DigitalMarketingExtreme  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Let's look at just one UTM parameter of source. Let's say you put a specific URL with UTM parameters on a LinkedIn article with a source of "LinkedInArticle". When you go to a Google Analytics report that shows source, you will now see "LinkedInArticle" along with some of the defaults like "google", "bing" or "linkedin.com". But, you will know that traffic came specifically from an LinkedIn article and not maybe your profile on LinkedIn. Google Analytics just categories the traffic into different groupings of "source" if you use custom UTM parameters. This will also happen for whatever values you set for "medium" and "name".

    I have 2 questions
    1: Once i create the UTM on there is automatically generate it thru GA from that site without having add that code in GA?
    2: If i would like to run conversion tracking can i use GA instead of bemob...click magick etc ....

    • @DigitalMarketingExtreme
      @DigitalMarketingExtreme  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      1: you are correct. Once you add the UTM parameters to a hyperlink on another website, there is nothing you need to add in Google Analytics to get those parameters to show up.

    • @DigitalMarketingExtreme
      @DigitalMarketingExtreme  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      2: Maybe. Google Analytics has something called Goals. You can consider this a type of conversion tracking since when a Goal happens, a specific event has occurred.

    How do I link my UTM links to my google analytics

    • @DigitalMarketingExtreme
      @DigitalMarketingExtreme  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is automatic. If you add the UTM parameters for source, medium and name to an URL, these values will show up in Google Analytics when you view reports that look at source, medium and campaign name.
