    Thanks a lot! Exactly what I was looking for. I saw many older tutorials with the older version of Google analytics-- and being new to this, was confused (the UA- tracking code was missing in my dashboard since I was using the newer Google analytics!). This is incredibly useful.

    Hello Julius, thanks for the wonderful tut! I'm having some problems making it work. On my website I use a "product enquiry" plug in that opens up a pop up. After loading the pop up and filling the form, when click on the send button, even though I get a button_class (on the google inspector) , tag manager was unable to identify it as a click. Thanks for the video.. do you think you could do a video on how to track “conversions” or events that are created inside of a chatbot? I would like to track when people make it to a certain stage of a chatbot flow. Because I consider taking that contact info as a conversion. Would I just create a tag ? I’m new to this..

    I followed him step by step and I will grant you I have little to no idea what I am doing but I did everything he did it said it was connected. I go to debug view and.... nothing. Every one of the videos has a 30-minute setup video for some nested item you had to set up before even attempting this tracking. So I pause it and go set that up and create a tag manager account. then spend 20 minutes trying to make sure it is configured corrected and then back to this video to try it and fail. All I want to do is track 1 outbound link and 1 page view as a goal. In my mind it is not that hard but I get on this thing spend 3 hours copying youtube setup videos and almost all of them have the exact same problem. Nested setup that had to be done in advance and after the setup it still doesn't work.

      @@austinnewman5760 Hi, you can take this free GTM course that contains the initial setup + click tracking www.analyticsmania.com/courses/google-tag-manager-fundamentals-course/
      The reason why you don't see the initial setup in every video is that it does not make sense. Otherwise, every 10-minute tutorial would become a 1-hour video. Once you install GTM for the first time, you don't need to see the initial setup once again. If you feel like you struggle with the setup, you can enroll in a paid GTM course where you will have decent guidance from the instructor + all lessons are in the proper order (if the course, of course, offers that option. ). Yes, it costs money but that way, you will not be wasting time.

    You are incredible.
    F. Google for their shitty spaghetti.
    I get it you have a lot of control over it, but they should implement at last standard click tracking using Javascript or something for custom buttons. This would make life much easier than setup 100000 tags for JUST BUTTON CLICK TRACKING.

    • @AnalyticsMania
      @AnalyticsMania  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Where did you get that impression that you need that many tags to track buttons. You can create a single trigger and one tag that can cover multiple similar buttons.

    • @hrubar5430

      @@AnalyticsMania No, I mean you need to install the Google Tag Manager javascript code, even if you already got on website the Google Analytics Universal and 4, Google Ads Remarketing and Conversion tracking, so on.
      I'm sure they could implement something like Google Ads Conversion tracking in the GA, which implies fire an Javascript event.
