👍👍Great job on flounder fishing!!! I woulda missed most of those hits cause I didn't know you need to pause before setting the hook. Also I would not have thought to cast so close to the beach.
9 times out of 10 a flounder inhales the bait . . When fishing artificial, the moment you feel a strike or weight on your line you should set the hook . . If you're missing hookups, it's more than likely due to poor hooksets or small hooks
I thought that first flounder was a beauty I Don't think they get more than maybe 40% bigger in the UK and that would be a specimen class fish, your flounder seem a bit different shape aswell. Great video you got my subscription 👍
The fall migration is really starting to pick up now. They move out to the Gulf to spawn in the fall. In November you can’t keep them in Alabama to prevent over harvesting because thats usually the peak of the migration.
If you're on the move don't hook your lures or rig hook into one of the eyes of your rod instead use the scaffolding of the eyes, inside the eyes is porcelain and you don't want to chip it cuz you'll have problems with losing fish and lures cutting of in casting allsorts of problems, just a tip I learned about a year ago.
Where those tidal pools flow out are a great place to cast. Fish are ambushing bait washing back out. Great video!
