Great video as always.... I enjoy flounder fishing but have never had much success but with your excellent video I will change my approach and try your suggestions. Thanks again for a great presentation with knowledge and experience. You are the GOAT in the fishing world.
Love it!! You should put together small zman kits for sale when you do this style videos Flounder lure kits and other species specific kits. Just a thought but love your info and channel thanks for sharing!
@@flatsclasscharters awsome! I like your website and I’ll go on zman site to find the thing your talking about but there’s so many to go through. And a small flounder kit or trout kit would be cool.
Fishing SE Georgia in the Golden Isles area and intend to target flounder this summer. This has been a great primer for me. Traditionally, I fish with live shrimp for Trout, Reds and a flounder now and then. This year I'm going to target flounder in the same way I target Triple Tail in the warmer months when the trout bite is not as good as the cooler months. Keep the good stuff coming!
I feel ya. 48° down here South of Houston. Agree on Flounder fishing also, I've had so many Flounder thump & take that tail off. I like them hooks far back also to try & eliminate that ripping of my tail. Pearl white is hard for them to resist. Tight Lines & thanks for the info 🤟
Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I really enjoy Flounder fishing and hopefully one day it'll be great again, soon in the Upper TX Gulf Coast. Our Flounder season is Closed from Nov 1st thru Dec 24th 2022. Tight Lines and Full Limits To Ya. 🎣
Great video as usual Capt. CA. Flounder is one of my favorites to target this time of year as well. I've never considered chatter baits for flounder, may need to give that a go, but will need to do so soon as that shuts down here in Texas Nov. 1 through Dec. 14.
Hello Captain, I was in the o.r. being operated on my right side inguinal hernia on the 20th of October. I know you had a double procedure a while back. Guess that was all caused by catching so many fish. Just kidding. I love your show and so much we have in common. Thanks Captain 👍
Love this content , just have to go to another state to use it. NC has their dorsal fin up their vent . Just learned about the fight the CCA is carrying to them, I will be joining . Thanks for the knowledge cap'n.
As of last year in the North East area of Florida with is Jacksonville South to the S .R . 44 bridge in New Smyrna Beach . From Oct 15th to Nov 30th recreational anglers are not allowed to keep flounder . Yet the commercial fisherman are allowed to keep 50 a day during this closure. They are allowed to keep 150 the rest of the year .
Yeah and it was great being able to eat what you catch! I'm all for uping the size limit to 14 inches and putting the bag limit to 5 per person. But it really sucks not being able to keep them the one time of the year where it's worth targeting them. I mean I'm sure everyone would be okay even raising the slot to somewhere between 15 or 18 inches if it meant you can keep them year round.
Awesome info… I’m trying to turn more toward Zman for port Mansfield, Tx. I was somewhat confused because I wanted a heavier bait so I could make longer casts but still be weedless. I think I’m gonna go to TxEye weedless and just go heavier so I still get distance and weedless.
Ok Captain Richardson...no laughing...Im east central fla 2-4 depth..here I what I use for the flat guys all I fish for. 5:1 gear ⛮ ratio casting reel 7ft mh composite rod 12# copolymer with 6" 30# bite tippet and a rapala bx brat 3'ft depth version..hot dang color and HOLD ON..👍also underspins.
CA tell why ,I am from LI NY and i fished fluke crazy, drifted over holes ,caught tons . Now I live in Wrightsville NC I know Jot , why can’t you drift for flounder in NC ?
You forgot a few important components; custom tied flounder rig, bucktails and gulp. Live bait is a thing of the past. The Master: th-cam.com/users/JohnSkinnerFishing
John Skinner is the Flounder boss for sure… and we used to use buck tails tipped with shrimp pieces for flounder fishing a lot when I was a kid. It always worked!
Great video. Very fascinating about white baits looking like the bellies of fish or crab
This is one of the best videos on flounder I’ve ever seen . Ca is probably the best inshore teacher period !
Was going to start targeting Flounder, this set me on right path wasn't sure how, only ever fished up one by catch, so yeah this helped
I really appreciate your insight and how you explain how to catch fish.
I only make it to the flats about once a year and I never focus on flounder but bet on me spending a whole day bottom popping reel soon. Thanks CA.
Great video. And I love hearing that hawk.
Always a pleasure sir! Thanks for your input.

I appreciate the kind words, thank you and good luck with the Flounder
That pearl blue glimmer is such an all around lure. In a water with less tannins it’s such a killer for me.
U aint lien. I use that and the opening night paddeltails are money for me
Very informative and well presented. Thank you for sharing, much appreciated.

Hey CA thanks for all the info, your videos are the best help that I have found, sure enjoy Z-Man
Products 🎣
Awesome info. Do you have a video of catching Flounder?
Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

I've only purposefully targeted flounder once. Might have to change that on my next trip.
Go for it!
Appreciate the info
wow, so informative!
Great overview! Appreciate the info!

EJ- I know your frustration its not fair and the rec anglers don’t do near the damage to the fishery as the commercial guys that is a fact.

Alberto it’s a great rigging hook for casting distance… thanks for the support of our channel.
Try the Pro bulletz/Diesel minnowz too
Hey what’s a rod length power and action that can do a little bit of everything that has to do with inshore fishing
7' medium (I would go medium personally) or medium heavy. Fast action for single hook lures, moderate action for treble hooks
Medium Fast in 7’ length
@@flatsclasscharters thanks
Wonder how well the diesel minnow would work on the spinnerbait
The Shimano SE 7’ M spinning with a 3k sustain wouldn’t be a good match ? I’m up in Jersey fishing beaches ocean side and inlets
Thank ya boss.
Finesse or pro bulletz /minnowz or goatz = Flatties🤠
I like your math my friend

CA do you like the zodias over Expride? Do you think the ML in either would not have enough spine?
I like both the Expride and Zodias from Shimano… in most instances Expride gets the nod but still like that Zodias for detecting light bites
@@flatsclasscharters thanks. And you’d still go M over ML?
Definitely M

I have that sexy penny crab. Might have to get a chatterbait to pair with it.
Yes, yes

Grass. Flounder love grass. Every single one I’ve caught was pulled out of flooded grassy areas along the bank….
How do you tie to a chatter bait
Daryl- it’s really a lure that requires just an improved clinch knot as a connection
@@flatsclasscharters ok thanks
You sound like a school teacher. 🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱
I remember when this channel used to show alot of fishing. Now it's all talk which gets really boring
I've had great success using gulp 3" swimming mullet in pearl. Bounce it off the bottom.
