you can cancel out of the paddle shifting mode by holding the + paddle for 3 seconds. great video btw!
THANK YOU!!
you can also click econ or sport to cancel
Yup.
So I can use sport mode without shifting??
Use sport mode.. still fine. If you want to use shifters, then use sport mode.
Yea bro thx for the vid - if you hold the + shift for like 5 secs it goes out of the paddle shifting mode and puts it into D but stays in sport mode. I found that out when i was messing around with my accord sport 1.5, i got it about 4-5 months ago
Lol thanks for the tip! Someone had commented earlier about holding the shift 👌🏼
Thanks for sharing this, you answered a lot my questions about shifting. 😎👍
My pleasure! Make the best content. 🤙🏼🙌🏼
i learned by practicing using the shifters on my civic sports cvt, wasn't about to take a chance practicing on my accord 2.0 🤣
Lmao!! 😂😂 yea great job!
same here! jus traded in my cvt for the 2.0
Ive read the owners manual but it only speaks on the 7 speed only question is what gear is the hwy speed cruise gear ik on a 5 or 6 speed its 5th or 6th gear but in a 10 speed idk what gear to leave it in when doing such havent used it yet for that reason as i dont wanna damage it
Great video man. Keep the content coming !!! 👍👍👍. Fellow veterans stick together 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Heck yea bro! Appreciate you! 🙌🏼🔥🤙🏼
Ayyy Honda Crew 🔥🔥

Paddle shifters... I'm still rocking the manual lol. Great video and information
Yea thank you. 💪🏽💯
i used pedal shifters for the first time last night and i thought i broke my car, i accidentally downshifted a few times 😳
Lol 😂 wild bro
@@RedLineMods1 slowing down is what gets me
when racing against someone, would you say using paddle shifters is better than just being in sport mode? Like you can push faster using shifts better than being on regular sport ?
I use paddle shifters on my 21’ civic hatch sport and i can say that if u are racing someone, the paddle shifters do keep you in the high rpm’s and if you hit the gas T the right rpm’s and shift correctly , i would say it is a bit faster or feels faster because you can defintiely feel the torque more. but just a tiny bit faster. Sometimes slower if you don’t do it correctly. you just got to get use to it. Hope this helps (:
hi, thanks for the video...
was it a hard choice for you to pick White for your car? mine is Black and gets so dusty... but when clean shes a beauty... i was thinking of generation 11 coming soon hoping they have a new color besides the others... i can live with Silver cause its easy to keep clean... where i live the weather always changes... lol
I use to have black before and now switched to white. 😅
Let's get this thing to drag strip for a stock run or 2 asap!
Ohhh that would be fire!! Great idea! I should do that in the coming month. Weather gets better then ima do it haha
Usually, I put it to neutral then switch it back to drive to cancel it
No, just hold the + shifter for 3-5 seconds and it’ll cancel it and goes back into drive.
Why is that mine when I’m bout to hit the highway when I hit the pedal on the right it automatically starts at 10 but it looks like yours starts from 1? If I hit the left pedal the - it starts to go down from 10. What am I doing wrong?
If you still haven’t found out. It puts it in a gear relative to the speed you’re going. Start from sitting still and it starts at 1
Yo bro, do you step off the gas whenever you upshift?
Technically since it’s a CVT you do not have to let off the gas for shifts
Do you have to use the paddle shifters when you’re in sport mode 🤔?
Not necessarily.. it’s optional
If u have a 2.0T I suggest u to use it if ublike to challage other drivers. Keep it on high rpm and drop it to 3rd gear and enjoy the kick
@@darlishijaku719 Do a 40 roll in 4th, quick downshift to 2nd and then floor it. Off to the moon you go
@@Apezilla I have to try the 2nd and see the difference. Ive always done it from the 3rd and it does kick hard.
Hey, I just got my 2019 Honda Accord sport and was wondering how'd you get the MPH to show up in the middle of the dash? I can turn that option on, but it only shows in KM.
2019 models doesnt have it
I know this is old comment, but all models you can change to MPH in the settings, look for techometer settings
@@LoversPosseyou can change it to mph but the 2019 still doesn’t have it sadly
If I trade in my 2018 accord sport MT for touring, will I feel better I have paddle shifters?
You got a manual!? They go for so much! Very rare because they didn’t make many lol
I do! 1.5 Sport Manual. I may hold on to it. It drives great
Hold on to it. It can go for a lot
It goes for more but the CVT appeals to a wider group of buyers making it easier to sell. Lots of people see the paddle shifters and opt for that option.
So does engine braking/downshifting in a 2.0T bad for the engine or not?
That’s what many people do to avoid braking so much but I prefer braking and then downshift. Brakes last over 30,000 miles and can be replaced under $200 lol
I never drive in Sport mode. I do use the paddle shifter all the time for braking only when slowing down and coming to a stop. It saves lots of wear and tear on the brakes.
Doesn’t that mess the transmission up considering you are downshifting to a high RPM to slow the car down 😂?!
@@DenzelBoosted
It’s called engine braking and it’s safe in theory it’s mostly used in manual cars but u can do it in an auto with select shifting
I think it's cheaper to replace weared out brake pads that a weared out engine LOL
@@crubio94cr ooooh ok ok makes sense now that i think about it.
Well that’s stupid. Cheaper to replaced brakes and pad compared to transmission repair. But go right ahead
Anyone know if there's a way or an update to make the 18to 20 models show the digital speed?
Nothing to be found with that update.
It only comes with the 2021+ I had a 2020 didn't have it and just recently got a 21 and it has it
Yup
I just got a 2022 accord 1.5t what you think about that one ?
It’s an okay starter car. CVT sucks but definitely the 2.0 is the way to go
Good car. I went with 2.0 just because I’m not huge on cvt. But you’ll get amazing gas which is good for these times
@@ryansnider1580 why the cvt sucks ? I never had cvt cars before so I’m new. Will it go bad?
Oil dilution and also can’t be modified performance wise
True but let’s enjoy life more for $20 bucks extra in gas haha 😂
Can you use paddles in eco
So if I’m in sport mode I don’t have to use the shifters correct?
You are correct, you can choose to or choose not to.
You also clear it by pulling in either one of the shifters inwards for about 4 seconds and it will clear it.
Yup that’s correct. Someone had mentioned it. The + shifter for 3+ seconds
SUBSCRIBE AND HIT THE BELL ICON! Much appreciated! 🤝
I wish I knew how to use the shifters I just floor it lol but I wanna downshift and get the kick when you upshift again lol
same here, im doing some research before i use it on my accord lol
Yea gotta find the sweet spot
Can’t wait for the build
Yea! Coming soon step by step.
hey couldn't find the comment, but does paddle shifters ruin the car if i use it too much? i'm so concerned
Commenting to follow
How does your 2.0 come with a gear shifter?
This one is a 1.5T lol my 2.0T is in the garage
@@RedLineMods1 lol i see, i hope the 2023 comes out with a gear shifter
Thanks mate!
Do you ever feel like the car jolts when shifting using the paddle shifters? Is that normal?
Depends when you shift.. if you do it at the right time. You feel a little kick into your seat when you hit gas. 👌🏼
It’s bc he is letting off the gas while shifting. Don’t let off the gas when shifting up.
@@waybachmakes sense I be doing that lol good looking
Hey brother great video quick question I realize that your digital speedometer is not in kilometers how did you convert it from kilometers to mph???
It’s on the new accords 2021 and above.
This is off topic. But does anyone know how to use the app install app on the infotainment ? I downloaded some apk but all are greyed out. What apps are allowed to be installed? Great video btw. I might try practicing using the shifters. Does it feel more like a manual using the shifters?
the can't really put other apps on the infotainment system.
Great video
how it showing the mph for you ? is it cause its newer year model? cuz my 2018 2.0t doesnt show it
Yes it’s a new model bro lol
Newer model! 2021 and above
Great video! But is 2.0 and 1.5 transmission different?
Yes big time! 🔥🔥🔥
Yesssss 1.5 is CVT 2.0 T is 10 Speed
That is correct. 💪🏽🔥
Thanks
Anytime
What uppppppp....😎😎😎😎
Waddup!! 🤙🏼
Difficult to hear you and view of Speedo and Tach , your hands are blocking view.
Will make a better one.
Ayee
🤙🏼
You’re out here flooring it with only 45 miles omg lol
I think your supposed to wait till after 1k miles on it before you begin to floor it
Yea that’s recommended. 😅
It's actually faster if you don't use the paddle shifter :) ..
Yea let the transmission do it for you haha
I was talking to my buddy about that same exact topic. I have a 2022 Accord Hybrid and it’s quicker just in sport mode, to me anyway
Yes in sport mode gives it that little push
Paddle shifter works n both modes
They are pretty useless in two of the three modes because it cancels it out in about 5 seconds.
They are useful in sport mode. 🔥
I press the econ button to get out of the sport mode.
You can pull and hold the + shifter for 3 seconds to cancel out from the paddle shifters mode.
You make no sense. Is you car stick or cvt? Doesn’t look like you have the 10 speed auto. If you have the 10 speed auto there is no need for paddle shifting, the trans will shift much quicker than you. Those paddle shifters are really useless.
i work at a dealership so i took this one out for a video lol
which gear is for which mph
