    Thank you so much for this excellent video! As someone commented, I have driven a manual transmission car for over 40 years. But I was apprehensive about using these paddle shifters! After you thorough video and explanation, I am going to start using them. Thanks again and keep up the good work!! 🙂

    The boost gauge reading 1.5 has zero to do with engine displacement. 1.5 represents the boost pressure in bar. 1.5 bar equaling close to 21 psi

    if you are just casually driving around, just leave the transmission alone. the software will get better mileage than screwing around with the paddle shifters constantly for no reason. you are also putting extra wear and tear on the cvt by forcing the belt ratio to tighten and loosen constantly in an erratic fashion, you will prematurely wear out the regulator and solenoid.
    this is just a CVT. there is no gears. the absolute fastest way these can accelerate is just letting the software hold the RPMs at peak power while it adjusts the belt ratio in a smooth and linear manor. the fake shifts are slower and also cause wear and tear, its literally engineered transmission shock to make it imitate a conventional automatic lol. its literally just designed for entertainment because people do not like the way a CVT feels, but it completely defeats the purpose of a CVT.
    if you want to shift constantly, buy a damn manual.

    • @mohammadishtiyaq2012

    • @10thgenAce
      @10thgenAce  2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      This isn’t a video for better gas mileage bro. Like I said on my video, 1.5’s are CVT and there’s no actual gears into it. This is also just a tutorial on how to use the paddle shifters if you do wish to use it or play with it. I’m not encouraging people to use it. I only share my experience and what I do in regards of using the paddle shifters. Lastly, you are right, paddle shifting is just a feature for entertainment and that’s the purpose of this video. Have a good one and thank you for your feedback

    • @Cichlid_Visuals
      @Cichlid_Visuals 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@mohammadishtiyaq2012 pretty sure you have no idea how a CVT works. Go ahead and keep fucking with your paddle shifters, when that transmission dies outside of warranty it's gonna cost more than the car to replace lol. I am a Honda service technician for over 5 years, u don't want to know how many of these have failed outside warranty, same as the l15b motor, they have oil dilution issues, and constantly screwing with the paddle shifters is causing the ECU to pull and advance timing over and over to compensate which equals more fuel dilution.
      Edit: Buy a manual if you want to shift. But you probably don't even know how to drive one lol

    Found out last year you could make nice shifting noises a year ago in fk7 CVT hatch sport touring, after cat delete, res delete, tune. (Maybe it can be done without tune, but cat deletes normally need to be corrected)
    I warned people though, that using paddle shifters would likely wear the transmission more than not using them.

      the best thing for you or anyone for that matter is to find an old junker with a stick and play with it. you will then easily understand the fundamental principals which you can then transfer over to automatics with paddles. simple!
      alternatively, its all about sound and feel. listen to the engine. again. listen to the engine:
      simply -
      if it sounds like roaring and struggling (as u accelerate) , shift up to the next gear etc etc etc
      if you are slowing down (as u accelerate) and not feeling or hearing power, shift down to a lower gear.
      you can also help slow the car when breaking, simultaneously and carefully shift lower and lower as you break and the vehicle slows...(again feel what is going on)
      thats it. its all about sound and feel. FORGET about looking at numbers on the tachometer or speedo or fancy lights etc. nonsense!

    If u know how to drive manual transmission u only hear the engine it ask u for the next gear..or by looking at the revs. I don't go higher than 2.5 rpm. For the next gear. Some go for the speed on the odometer.. (1/0-25)( 2 25-35) and so

    And I will say it again. A 2.0 cvt is basic for a Accord. I've seen the 3.5V6 literally annihilate cars. They can do the whole dash easy. The 2.0 is quicker because of the cvt but I doubt the power band expands its power more than the 3.5.v6 power. I live in Philadelphia. Where drivers are like sport racers all over. And our huge Latino community owns Honda like they make them. Trust me I've seen the super smooth slip in the 2.0. Just streams ahead with pure premium push...but also its clear as day its nowhere as powerful as the 3.5 and each day on the street it proves it. Move over if u see a sport 3.5v6 accord.

      not exactly thrue unless you define what a gear is!. generically a gear is a ratio in a power delivery system. it can be steel rings with sprockets or different sized hamsters in cages or belt s in a CVT setup. its all a G E A R S system! be informed......
      also, CVTs perform and do whatever any other gear system does. period. its all a matter of how well they are constructed. but they do function well! .... decades ago F1 designed a cvt system which was quickly outlawed for competition.
