Modern bulova maybe... but I would be very skeptical of anyone who decalres themselves a "watch expert" and fails to see the horological importance of Bulova's 1960s Accutrons. They literally reinvented the watch with the tuning fork. It was the most advanced timepiece ever made which is why NASA used them and Astronauts wore them.
Even some modern models are VERY good , although I admit that's like 10% or less of their catalog
Slight correction. Omega won the contract for NASA. David Scott “just happened” to have a Bulova with him (the one Bulova designed for space) when his Omega “failed” he turned to the Bulova. It was only used on that one mission. It made it to the moon regardless and was used during activities on the moon. But the official watch used by NASA has always been the Omega Speedmaster.

Yeah the accutron is awesome, it is on my wishlist, even the re issue looks great but to expensive.
I love the loyalty Bulova brand wearers are showing here. And it’s well deserved. I’ve never heard from a dissatisfied Bulova customer. I’m sure there are a few. But most who wear Bulova love the watch. Constancy over time will create that loyalty. That’s what matters.

The "50 dollar watch in reality" is built in Japan, is nicely finished, has a sapphire crystal, a movement that is plenty decent and worth more than 50 dollars on its own, and externally is a dead on duplicate of the rarest dive watch ever issued in the US military, only about 30 having been built and 12 having been sold from the issued frogmen's collections. They also feature once common and now almost unheard of water indicator strips and push to unlock bi directional bezels.
I paid 340 for mine and don't regret it a bit. If you know where I can get a properly spec'd not chinese homage but true same brand production version of a 50's-70's UDT/SEAL dive watch for 50 dollars by all means please share a link, I'd buy at least 4.

Bulova has a long history, an intimate connection to NYC, and over the years, it has created many time pieces of impressive quality, innovation, and beautiful design. My father had them, my uncles had them, and i love my Joseph Bulova signature chronograph.
My 80 year old grandfather still wears his automatic Bulova, which was handed down to him from his father.

Bruh i have 8 bulova watches and just bought the Frank Sinatra summer black watch. Honestly i love this brand cause theyre beautiful, built really well and are very affordable which makes them easy to wear everyday instead of locked up in a safe lol. Solid brand
The summer wind is a great watch Perot personally however, for the rose gold version my favorite of the Frank Sinatra collection is the my way

This just seems like snobbery to me. I’ve had 2 Bulova watches each over 10 years old. They look great and they have been absolutely problem free both of them over those 10+ years. Does it look good? Yes. Does it feel good on the wrist? Yes. Does it keep accurate time? Yes. Many people comment on both of them regularly. Because they look super cool. I’m not a wealthy person. I can’t afford more than a few hundred bucks for a watch. But I’ve never been anything but stoked on both of my Bulova watches. But I guess I’m some ignoramus who doesn’t know jack.

Bulova is actually not the worst. I like their designs, and they do have a few competent models in their catalog like the Wilton GMT and Lunar Pilot. They do use customized miyotas that have a higher beat rate in a number of their models.
I love my Lunar Pilot a lot actually because of the high beat quartz.

Anything over $250 for a watch or shoes is expensive I wear Bulova and Movado watches and I like them to me buying a $500-2000 watch feel the same way a rich person feels when they buy a $20k Rolex it’s cuz that’s what I can afford as a luxury item I rather be real and sport what I can afford and be proud then to be fake and sport what I can’t afford. I’m not poor but I’m not rich either so I stay in my lane and what is in my lane of what I can afford are some pretty nice things and it makes me appreciate what I have some might have better and that’s awesome but I’m happy for what I am given I could have nothing like some people do appreciate what u have and can afford as long as ur happy that what counts

Too many people are living in unrealistic cost factors concerning what people are actually earning in comparison to the cost of certain items .
Watching celebrities and rich people drop astronomical amounts of money on the internet haves people without that type of money thinking that is their standard of living , and the females are the worst offenders of this delusion 🙄 .

I own a rolex explorer, multiple tags, carl f bucherer and many other "high society" watches. But I also own Bulova, seiko, citizen, casio and a few swatches. If you are buying watches purely on price tag, you are a tool and you don't really like watches.

262kHZ HAQ movement, 10 seconds a year. This normally costs a few thousand! Bulova is doing it for under one thousand. Kudos to them.
I mean there is 2 bulovas the mall side and there is a real watch brand side with things like the devil diver/ oceanographer, jet star and lunar pilot which are all really good at there prices

I own two automatic bulovas and they got me into watch’s. Everyone compliments them.
I’m an avid collector and an amateur watchmaker. I know watches. I own high end brands, but guess what? I own several Bulova watches and LOVE them. One was my first mechanical watch and it still runs like it’s new. Bulova is a solid brand with a rich history and anyone who says otherwise is an idiot, a snob or both.

I just got a Bulova marine star for $400 and I usually wear G shock watches or citizen. I don’t think I’d ever actually buy a Rolex because it does the same thing my other watches do (Tell time). To me Rolex is played out, and you can find very nice watches for a fraction of the price, you just have to shop.
Rolex sells watches for $10,000 that are $500 in reality. One of these companies is just better at the brainwashing part 😉

What a watch snob, because making a watch easily available doesn't make it worth hating. Besides, I love bulova for their many different creative designs, which I find much more attractive and tasteful than bland overrated Rolexes. I have seen so many more sekios in malls than Bullova, and some professionals still compare their quality to Rolex. So just because something is wildly available doesn't mean it doesn't have quality.

Love my Luna Pilot, great watch, very well made and beautiful on the wrist. $500 is a reasonable price for a well made watch.
Yeah they cost $50 to make. Rolex’s cost between 300-500 depending on material. Many are out here jock riding “luxury” brands and fail to understand that Bulova’s history and list of innovations is far more significant than that of Rolex on the horological tapestry.

You know on my channel where I review fragrances I get the same kind of nonsense from fragrance knobs as well. Something just needs to work and be enjoyable it doesn't have to be made out of the most costly material or in my case the most costly ingredients for a fragrance it just has to smell great/work well. Bulova used to be a giant. 1940s gangsters wore it, in 1960s Bulova made revolutional Accutron movement, in 1970s, along with Hamilton, they did one of the first digital watches, Computron. Maybe selling the brand to Citizen in 2008 made them so bad.
I got one of the last few Bulova Accutron that shows Swiss Made on the front. It's a really nice piece for $350.

I just picked up both of these models today. I got 078/350 and the white panda lunar. The chrony is simply stunning! And the lunar.. just badass!

Bulova have some classically beautiful watches and have a great history of movements …… the only weak point is some uglier pieces in the modern era but they still always maintain some classic beautiful pieces within their collection.
So basically “watch nerds” hate Bulova equally for the opposite reason why they hate Hublot. You can’t have it both ways and not be considered a snob. Bulova has history and caters to the Blue Collar middle class.

Watch nerd here, we don't haye Bulova, we are just disappointed.
Bulova as a watch manufacturer has a rich history in the industry. Watches like the lunar pilot is still a highly regarded watch today. And the precisionist movement has one of the most smoothest seconds hand you can get only overtaken by the much more expensive Seiko spring drive.
There line up as of late has been full of, for the lack of a better term, ugly designs and citizen might have something to do with it.
Bulova has a lot of potential, especially with their precisionist movemnt, however they are not living up to that potential.
I would like to see a marry of Citizens eco drive and Bulovas precisionist drive to creat a high performance, high beat rate solar powered watch.
