Love the video, very detailed on how to set it up. I’ve been looking all over the internet on how to install but no one really show how to do the set up. Thanks
You are very welcome glad it helped, one more thing, make sure to get the stiffer rear springs otherwise you gonna have some rubbing issues with aftermarket wheels at every pothole part number is SA120-01150.
Thank you very much, yes I was reusing those but I would suggest getting new ones because these are old cars and eventually gonna start making noise and you have to replace it anyway.
@ yes, everything that the spring was touching, also make sure when you are tightening everything jack up the wheel hub assembly to the ride position otherwise your suspension parts is gonna go out prematurely.
If you buy the complete set without talking to Tein about your setup, it could be too soft on the rear wheels, if you have wide wheels on your car it could rub hard and you have to roll your fender, switch the springs to 12kg or get a set of less wider wheels, i got the 12kg springs now and rides very good, a bit bouncy because I kinda maxxed out the coilovers but still feels better than the stock
To be honest with you I have no clue, came with the car but after a quick search I found this www.fitmentindustries.com/buy-wheel-offset/TR04188551435W/vors-tr4-18x85-35?vehicle_type=Car&year=2003&make=Acura&model=RSX&trim=Type-S&suspension=Stock
Awesome video! Tein coilovers are what most people install on their DC5!! You helped me decide, Thanks!
Glad the video was helpful, I’m gonna do a review about the coilovers soon. Stay tuned

@@speedprophets82 did u have to buy them and take the original ones off? Or can you just order them stiffer
@@oioi6979 you can probably talk to tein and ask them to put the stiffer 12kg springs in the box, if not you have to get them separate.
Nice video bro! I have a question about the rear strut. Did you just reuse the two washers , bumper and top hat from the old strut? Thanks
Thank you very much, yes I was reusing those but I would suggest getting new ones because these are old cars and eventually gonna start making noise and you have to replace it anyway.
are you having spring binding issue??
for some reason my front passenger side is making a spring noise when i turn my wheel at low speeds
Of course there is, you can put some white lithium grease on the plastic collar and see if it helps, i think it will go away after some time
@@speedprophets82would I grease the top and bottom of it?
@ yes thats what I did, it helped. But I think after some time when the springs settle for good, the binding will go away
@@speedprophets82 did you also grease the strut bearing? the plastic part below the top hat?
@ yes, everything that the spring was touching, also make sure when you are tightening everything jack up the wheel hub assembly to the ride position otherwise your suspension parts is gonna go out prematurely.
How did you get that ding next to your driver door? I have the exact ding
Believe me or not I still have no idea, maybe a pickup truck backed into it
I just bought the street basis z for an ep3 but I’m gonna put them on my Rsx is there anything I need to switch out to try to make them fit?
Well the basis Z is a basic setup so you need the front and rear strut mounts, I’ll suggest to get new ones and not reusing the old ones from the car.
Do these ride too soft and bounce?? What are your thoughts on the ride?

what rims are those?

Also you can probably find some cheap knock offs on facebook marketplace if you don’t want to go brand new.
My basis pack didnt come with collars ?
What do you mean by that? The plastic rings that sits under the spring, the lock rings or the upper mount?
STRUGGLING TO TIGHTEN TOP NUT THAT HOLDS THE PRESSURE
Did you hold the rod with a wrench when you tighten the nut? If not thats your issue.
