    Starfield at the current time is like skyrim was before its DLC came along. It was buggy and some things were broken. This is simply the worst Starfield is going to be before DLC improves things. After that, mod creation tools come along and the community gets busy building weapons, space suits and new ship modules.
    I think land vehicles were always considered for this game and I'm glad this is coming. Outposts and the economy needs to be improved a great deal; I use the "Rich Merchants" mod to give the vendors massive amounts which really suits the setting IMHO.
    Stairs for ships and space uzi's is what I want to see in the future 😃

      The biggest thing is skyrim was mostly a complete package at launch. Everything was there to make it great and the DLC just added more on top of it.
      Starfield started at the middle and were slowly waiting for them to add the rest of the game along with it.
      One whole base game faction n Starfield doesn't get any character development because they are saving it for a DLC. The ending of the game doesn't get a satisfying payoff and we don't get the answer of why the artifacts exist or why the starborn are even a thing because they're saving it for a DLC.

    I took a break from Starfield but I'm back now! One thing that still bugs me is the theft mechanic. If someone sees you pick up a pressurized tank or an empty cup, there's a warrant out for your arrest. It makes no sense.

      One of the most frustrating things is the game won't even tell you what your bounty is actually for.
      Also, how does security across the entire universe know when you murdered/robbed someone in an outpost on the third moon of some nameless planet at the fringe of known space?

      Yeah I was on earlier and I jumped to a system to go offload some stuff. All I did was to and sell something and turn a quest in and all the sudden I receive a 1600 dollar bounty against fc.. don’t know how or why didn’t say why I just got it out of nowhere. Didn’t steal anything or even kill anyone or do anything wrong so I have no idea.. made me sad but I went to a kiosk and paid it off. Shrugged it off but that bugs me.. what if it happens again and again and I have no idea what I even did. Just going to find a kiosk to pay credits for nothing would be annoyance if it happens frequently just not knowing what you did.

    I'm just hoping we get space exploration between planets, if possible.
    Travel between planets with procedural battles and events would make it so much more worthwhile to spend more time investing resources in ship building!
    I think for me personally, the two most important things that need addressing, is interplanetary travel and POI variety on planets

      I can totally see that being a possibility for mods.
      Having a cruise mode where the ship flies itself to a pre-programmed destination with a known arrival time, & having procedural events take place as you travel.

      Only issue is that I play on series X haha! I know creation club is coming, but I would be hopeful that Bethesda simply adds it into the game
      I doubt it though, would probably take too much work as the current systems seem baked into the game

      There are some companions like this, but they're "generic" not like the Constellation one, i hope they go more deep with characters like Jessamine, Mathis and all the other non-generic companions you can hire, add a romance option and make feel them more "alive" 🤞🏻

      Fair request but, if you're playing a mean & cold role yourself, you won't care what constellation members think.
      Being an asshole is generally speaking a solitary way of life, & starfield simulates this quite well!

    The things I want is 1 more follower so atleast two, makes no sense to limit to one especially since there are missions where you have two or three. 2 more hairstyles, too many characters and npcs have the same hair. 3 i love that you can tell your follower to wait here but expand on that like mass effect. Tell your followers to attack a specific enemy, defend a specific spot or character. 4 If you own more than one ship, why cant you hire additional crew for the ship to follow your home ship into combat and have your back in space? 5 the generic nameless hires should be customizable the same way you can change companion outfits, maybe you can even “nickname” them so they arent called “payload specialist”. Name them George or something like a real name

    I personally expect something more out of shattered space. If I'm correct, bethesda used the expansion term only once before and it was for shivering isles for oblivion and it was big. Now it was used for shattered space.

    Wish list, some kind of settler system that makes your bases look and feel alive and vibrant. more like FO4 settlements. Yep, Light we need far better base storage and trading possibilities a working economy. If I build a trading network it needs to be worth my while buy stuff where it is low and sell where is more scarce and thus profitable.

    So the missions we have in Starfield map pretty closely to Skyrim.
    - main Starborn mission = main Dragonborn mission
    - undercover UC Sysdef / Crimson Fleet = civil war Empire / Stormcloaks
    - UC Vanguard questline = Winterhold College questline
    - Freestar Rangers questline = Companions questline
    - Ryujin questline = Thieves Guild questline
    - outpost building = Hearthfire homes
    - artifacts / temples = dragons / word walls
    Shattered Space, I expect, will add a couple things to this (I DO NOT HAVE ANY INSIDE INFORMATION I AM JUST PULLING THIS OUT OF MY ARSE):
    - main Starborn mission extension = the Dragonborn DLC
    - Varu'un questline = Dark Brotherhood questline
    - new powers / abilities = Hermaeus Mora's black books of Apocrypha
    - Creation Kit + paid mod Creation Club
    And then I expect an additional paid DLC to pop up next year that effectively maps to the Dawnguard, introducing an entirely new main-mission-style questline.
    Of course all of this is just me making shit up, so I am almost certainly wrong. But that's the kind of thing I would expect.

      Yep it's fair i think. Starfield is different to previous Bethesda games but not too different. There's definitely a familiar MO in effect, & that's no bad thing.

You can trash it all you want for whatever reason, but a game that racks up this many hours of playtime and continues to sell millions of copies on platform after platform? That's a great game. You could do a WHOLE lot worse than copying Skyrim.

    I have hope for this game. One of those hopes is something along the lines of seeing enemies fighting the good guys. Kinda like a raid style mechanic where you can randomly see SysDef or even UC Vanguard going up against Crimson Fleet/Spacers on the ground or in space. Maybe have some radiant quests where you have to help either side depending on which factions you belong to. There are a number of "random" encounters where you find a facility in a planet and it's full of enemies, you also have random ships land when you do on a planet, how hard would it be to have one of those ships drop off a strike team of UC Marines to go and hit an enemy facility?

    I reinstalled it and love all the QOL updates. The future does look good. I think they will create more varied assets, outposts, architecture and dynamic events to use with the procedural algorithm. That will then make the exploration a lot more worthwhile. A big complaint is that the exploration is bland and uses a lot of the same assets.

    I don’t like that you lose your ship and outposts when you pass through the unity.
    Like we worked very hard to make those things and sunk manny hours into em

      Having done NG+10, rebuilding the ships gets easier and quicker from experience. Only speaking for myself, I actually like the reset and challenge to build old designs better.

      All they have to do is let us save our ship designs as blueprints for the game to use and just let us buy our ships again.
      I had fun designing and building it, but I don't want to have to do it every time I start a new game.

      For "immersion purposes" it make perfect sense for the physical items to go away. Now I believe there is a way to fix it and still have immersion. Example is when you step through the unity have a character say you can take 1 ship, 1 weapon with you through the unity or you can take 1 outpost with you or you may not want take anything.
      I believe this may work. Everything you know or have learned is automatically with you. The rest could be a choice.

    I really LOVE the XP aspects of all of the settings. Being penalized for venders having a million credits makes perfect sense.

      Most vendors can't even afford to buy 1 item from me on the default setting, so I think its a bit ridiculous myself.

      At the same time it is a marginal xp debuff. I think it is brilliant myself. It does give a huge advantage so it ought to have a cost. Why do you only complain about this? You can raise your damage out put and lower the enemy damage (in personal combat and ship combat) why not complain about those? I currently play with the first level increase of vendor credits and enough debuff so my total xp effect is +26. I am thinking of restarting to where I get? +36 or a little bit higher with keeping the $$ buff. Good God man you can tailor your game to what you like and your own challenge level. And you can change it on the fly. You have an xp money farm outpost? Change the vendor credits and your carrying capacity then take all your suff to neon core and sell off over 2 or 3 days. Done and done. If you find doing that to "immersion breaking" that's on you, not the game mechanic.

      A little trick I like to do is disable environment conductions and afflictions from fighting. Then making it more difficult to cure and recover from these things.
      It’s a net positive in XP bonus even though it’s easier than before.

      You already can... You can Lose all the Traits in different forms since the launch of the game... For example if you get the Parents trait you can ask your father to stop sending money to them... And with the new update every time you pass thru the Unit you can Select new traits.

    Id just like one simple quality of life fix. Ammo crafting at a workbench similar to Fallout. I'd like to carry one or two weapons and build a character and perks around those weapons.

    When ship building I can't understand why the player can't just click on a hab doorway or hatch to make it the active one. Where the game auto places the stairs and doors is sometimes just dumb.

    I don't understand why they didn't tweak the fast travel from the fancy new maps to actually place you inside the location you are going to instead of just outside to face yet another load screen. It wouldn't even be difficult for them to have given you an option when you select the map point you want to move to. Well let's hope the Creation Kit brings back the modders, and maybe someone can do this.

    😅with these updates theres only a few things I would like to mod . The stealth skill challenges from melee kills to just regular stealth kills ... Craft an unlimited storage crate on the ship ... Digi picks just auto unlock locks at your skill level and some kind of transmog system .

      Not in my experience.
      I have enemies set to extreme, other settings are mostly more difficult than vanilla, i have about 40-50% extra xp gain. & i'd say the loot i'm finding is unchanged.

      @@skyriminspace Yes, a guy was bored once and added up the drops from normal and on hard mode and found a 3% higher drop rate on hard mode. Which is actually nothing.But it is still slightly increased .3%🤔😅😅

    Man, I’d love an option to turn on Bethesda’s usual loot system too. It’s the one thing that’s been a big disappointment for me (aside from all the loading screens, and other issues of course)

    I have played the game for about 200 hours and I did like it. It IS a good game. However, I currently find the game not worth replaying because the only thing worth doing in the game for me besides some ship building was the story arcs and I got through most of them on the first playthrough. There is only one single thing I ever wanted them to do to fix this game and you mentioned it: exploration. All the rest of these modifications are irrelevant to me until that issue is fixed.
    My big concern is that this is going to remain unfixed because despite the fact that it is "one thing", it's actually a huge ask. They would need to add up to 100 new curated locations for the randomized planets in order begin to make the exploration not feel hopelessly repetitive and, since they have not added even one location up until now, I do not have any faith that there will be any real effort to do this at all. They have mentioned vehicles. Why? To go where? There has not been ONE comment even talking about new locations. Sadly, they have not even mentioned anything about randomizing the locations of items, chests and enemies in the locations they already have. They may have different enemy types, but they are all in EXACTLY the same place and the items are in EXACTLY the same place for inside locations. It is completely immersion breaking to walk into a location knowing precisely where everything is going to be over and over again.
    I feel this way because Bethesda is just not communicating with us on an acceptable level. If they are fixing these issues, they should be talking about it and teasing it. They are not. In fact, they seem to be refusing to even acknowledge the issue exists. With Diablo 4 for example, a key issue that people had was itemization. So, the development team started waring shirts with a meme that mocked the game's itemization and talked a good bit about the fact that they understood the problem and that they were fixing it. Then they did fix it. Bethesda is already too late in doing the same. I acknowledge that these are just my feelings on the issue and I could be completely wrong, but they have not given me any reason to feel any other way.

      You don't think they added new locations to the procedural generation system?
      I first played on September 9th i think, & there honestly seemed to be about 4 or 5 different random locations from what i recall. It seemed very weird & unfinished.
      Now i see literally dozens of locations of varying scale & depth.
      I don't know if they added more locations, or they were level-locked, so we just don't see them until later in a playthrough.
      It would be strange if they were added in a patch though because they weren't mentioned in any patch note list, & i've followed this stuff pretty closely.

      @@skyriminspace I played since day one. The locations you run into are "random" but each planet gets a different pool to work with based on various parameters including level. So yes I do believe that there are layouts that you don't see until later in the game as well as the content you don't see until you hit a certain point in the main story in the first playthrough and the additional content for new game + (I am trying for zero spoilers).
      If they added anything it was very quietly and I did not notice it. I have been following all of the patches, but no one is perfect, so I am more than happy to acknowledge I am wrong if anyone can point out what they added.

      ​@@Just-Ignore-It_88 It's to replay missions with a higher level and better skills. Also, some skills can only be improved through multiple NG+ runs.
      There's more, but if you don't see the point of it, the rest is not going to be a selling point for you. Starfield is designed to be a very very good game for people who like the kind of game that it is, and if you don't get it, they don't care if you like it.

      @@cdarklock Starfield isn't a very very good game and is mid like fallout 4. I'm not hating on starfield that simps would go ballistic over... I just find it needs abit more content added to it like the land vehicles that is a good start. No man sky was rough at the start and got good when they added content... I just hope starfield gets the same treatment with more stuff added to it.

    Two huge bug bears for me are the face if you captre a ship and make it a home ship your main ship vanishes. Poof! its gone dissappeared. Why did they do this, makes no sence. Two: When you capure a ship you have to haul around all the awful junk from ship to ship, every cup, plushie, book and plate its so damn annoying and time wasting to dump it all or sell it all. I wish they would give us the option in the settings to keep the junk where it is and trancefer what you want in the inventory menu.

      I agree and I even suggested it on their Discord.
      In my Science/Exploration ship, I keep resources mainly for creating outposts. If I switch to my cargo ship, I don't want those resources going to my cargo ship and wasting space.
      When I first started this game, I created ships for specific roles, but the cargo issues made me give that up and just create one multi-purpose ship. But even then, I still have the cargo issues if I board and take enemy ships. Items in storage should stay with the ship and only transfer if you approve it.

      It is very annoying but it's easily resolved with one trip to the trade authority & clearing out the misc tab from the ship's inventory.
      You will make about 8k emptying the junk from a really big ship.

    Most of the clowns that stopped playing the game months ago because they claim the game was shit are going to come crawling back as if it was always amazing. Sure, it had its problems at launch like nearly every game. It certainly wasn't what some claimed it was. Can't wait for the Shattered Space DLC and especially the Creation Kit. Going to be a lot of custom tweaks made then.

      People say "the game's still in beta" like that's meant to be an insult.
      It was a very good game at launch, it's now verging on greatness. People need to have patience.

      I'm placing bets on which TH-camrs who've been hating on the game suddenly start posting videos about how "they always knew" the game was basically solid and getting better...

    I really hope aliens come to the universe in some sort of way in the future! Feels weird playing a sci fi game with no aliens haha

    They won't remove those limitations because like you said, they went for realism. What people want is to be able to make freighter sized ships like the UC vigilance. We don't really care about having to have more landing gears etc
