The strange part is that they landed close enough that when I did fast travel after taking care of them I had come back to Earth to put something away. Somehow, I had the urge to check the ship as it was still there, resulting in me scoring a free Starborn ship.
You can also get this ship out in space! I believe it’s called something like the “Fixn’go” or “Repairn’Go”, something like that. It’s a green Vista III with the same stats and equipment!
If you sit down and take the ship before going to the storage, then it won't be flagged "steal". Also, This is probably the same ship that you get when you randomly come across a smuggler in space. With that scenario, taking the package later results in a battle for those who were Supposed to get the package.
what annoys me with Bethesda, this game in particular, they patch more often the content or "glitches/exploits" that typically are considered more fun to players and ignore many of the issues that actually ruin the gameplay. its a single player non online game, let the players play how they want and stop ruining that with updates that dont necessarily improve the game just add dumb features that nobody gives af about like "new photo mode features" gtfo Bethesda.
Lie on options one with Captain then say you are the wrong person. Crew will attack you, clear them out then do the build outpost and go off planet routine. Loot will be clean on the ship on return.

Little tip: If you register any ship that you've acquired before raiding the cargo bay, all items will be free for the taking, and then you won't have "stolen" items in your inventory
You never know how recording can be messed with vs your monitor-tv settings, how HDR plays a part. Maybe it’s Scarlet on his screen. Looks burnt orange-brown to me
@@chincemagnet Dude I be getting colors wrong no matter if it's analog, digital or real life. And color blind mode in games doesn't help us see the actual colors as I have learned, but just makes the colors we would see as far too similar, very different so we can tell them apart. XD
Since the update I have only had one ship land on a planet while I am there and that has been on at least 20 planets and moons. This feature appears to have been killed by the update. Quite a blow as the thrill of stealing a ship from pirates etc was keeping me involved in the game. Not so sure why this was done. I have also taken a ship in the way mentioned here (a couple actually) but not sure if it will happen now.
This is probably due to having fixed the empty /ghost ship bug. Cause by the starborn ships being bugged and landing everywhere BGS shadow fixed this bug in its update it was not in the patch notes as a result it killed the random ship encounters landing on planets.
@@jamesweible5357 crew disappearing is a completely different bug. Like I stated in my above comment the empty/ghost is bug has been fixed unofficially as it was not in the March 19 patch notes. I’m have ships land again but I have to look for landing zones a quick reset to Venus and it’s completely fixed. No one mention anything about crew missing that a bug you have I don’t have that bug. Hopefully there’s a fix to that soon.
I honestly wish you could clean a ship of all the random junk in this game, including the items that aren't collectable like buckets and ladders. or that things would remain as you place them. Even the ship you get for doing the Stroud-Eklund mission is trashy...and it's suppose to be brand new! At least they did fix the doubling items issue. Good find, Griff!
You can. Go to a ship services tech, pull a hab out and put it back, or change it from a science to an infirmary. Best is change a 1x1 from cargo to companionway or vice versa. Ship all clean. Takes a week of in game time to clutter again.
The first dialogue option also works. Note that the intended recipient of the package will probably come for it later - with a whole fleet of friends (at least that is what happened to me). Offering to return the goods probably doesn't work (I didn't even bother to try) - you will have to fight and kill him. I got an Autobahn, not a Vista (I was on a different planet) but the good news is that this has not changed in the May 2024 update.

Ship was locked. Unlocked it, went to cockpit, stood in the chair, flew away. Was a Class B UC Roanoake. Sarah didn't even blink. Unlike the original Roanoke colony, this time the colony left without the colonists...

You saud yourself that the captain of the ship was expecting somone to turn up for a job; it stands to reason that he would have informed the crew why they are there; and so they too would also be expecting someone to turn up; and they also probably just assumed you was that person.
I've gotten many of the UC and Freestar Vista 3's. I use the first option in the conversation with the captain then the next option I pick the "you got the wrong guy"...then the captain says: "Is that right....then we have a problem then don't we...because now you know too much" Then he goes into attack mode and so does the crew. You end up getting rid of the entire crew in self defence. Then I use the navigator consul on the ship and jump to the nearest system. I find myself having jumped in my own ship, so I immediately return to my ships landing site, get out, and fast travel back to the Vista III. Now the ship is cleaned up and the captains chair is working. I jump in, save is as my home ship, register it, and it's mine.

after you leave the becon, just take off the planet, fly to another planet in the SAME SYSTEM and then immediately return to your becon, thats all you need to do :-) enter ship and fly away...and yes it still works as i got my Vista III yesterday 29.June 2024
I think this has been known for quite some time now. It can also happen anywhere in the universe. Regardless of the dialog choice you make, you can still get the ship. The two lies end the exact same. The mistaken option the crew will turn hostile. The 4th one I have never done so am unsure if they turn hostile or not. Regardless leaving and returning will still bag you the ship. I will have to try the 4th option as I am now curious.
I just had a similar encounter with a freestar Autobahn 2, told them they had the wrong guy, they attacked, they died. Hopped right in the driver's seat and took it

This still works! I had a FreeStar Vista 111 land with crew with a female captain, so I set a Beacon and headed over to Earth and exited the ship. I then headed back and landed at the beacon and walked onto ship again. No crew as you said. Thanks for your time making this video!
I got this ship too. But I simply killed the entire crew when I entered it (after I talked to the captain, and he gave me "the stuff"). I then was able to sit in the pilot seat and take off. I registered the ship and now how the Freestar Vista III. I did NOT get a bounty (even though I am a Freestar Ranger myself and killing the entire crew).
I did this, but I didn’t put down a beacon. I just kept a mental picture of the ships landing zone by clicking “show me” to see location on the surface map. I quick jumped to a close planet then jumped back and there it was…minus the crew and captain. No beacon necessary.

I've been trying to do this. So far the best ships I've gotten are Claymores. Mercury is too hostile so I cannot set up a base but I can just use the same landing area. There is one UC ship that lands that is unaccessible. I have picked up several ships very quickly and will sell them.
I think I came across this situation but I massacred all on board & stole what I wanted. After it I believe it caused that every ship lands but its doors will not open. Do you how to resolve this issue as it’s ruining my game.

Have they fixed the random glitches when stealing ships yet? I was constantly getting glitches and, once, even had the pirates base with the UC home port forced to load at the same time because i stole a ship and the game couldn't figure out where I was for some reason.
I got this encounter with an Autobahn 2 on jemison. At a farm just outside New Atlantis but I've not been able to get the crew to disappear yet. I thought I had to fight the actual owner of the package when he shows up first but they haven't arrived yet either. I got dismantled 20 times on my very first attempt at this before I paid them to leave & was unaware the ship could be stolen.
I laugh at the idea that we can land on the sun side of Mercury and not just, you know, die (it's 430C in the sun on Mercury). Same with literally anywhere on Venus (with its 93 bar surface pressure).
I mean, you technically glitched it into being stealable, so it being "broken" was kind of the intention. That said, fun video regardless. I'm just imagining the missing crew being out in some abandoned station, taking a piss, and then they come back to the landing spot and it's just GONE. Captain: Ehmm, Charlie, this is where we landed it, right? Charlie: Yes...sir? Captain: Yeah, then where the hell is it, cause I ain't seeing it for sure! Charlie: I...I don't. just came across this...my question is, how did you figure out the steps to be able to take the ship? I can understand that there are mechanics in the game that have expected results; the example of not being able to put down an outpost beacon within 250m of a ship. How did you come to figure that flying away to another planet and landing there would effect conditions on Mercury? Thanks.
I wanted to try this, so after the game patched with the latest update, I went here, walked around for a good 20 to 30mins and the only ship that landed (after 30mins) was a starboard guardian
I plan on doing a evil/bad character, who's a smuggler build. so ill unlock lvl4 pilot class c pretty quickly. Can i just kill them & be done with it? 😭. Every time i try other people's glitches the crap never works haha an this a 9month old video, i guess ill find out
Not one random ship has landed on any planet I've been on after about 20 attempts. Though my game was buged but I see a lot of people having the same issue since the latest update. I hope Bethesda reverse this, it's one of the best parts of the game for me.
Yeah, after I downloaded the beta update, not one random ship lands for me now. Hopefully they fix this, lots of people having the issue. Anybody having it should file a bug report.
I wonder if the ship's randomly spawning on planets was intentionally removed, or is it a bug in the in the latest update ? I'm sure plenty of people would have noticed it in the beta update release, so if it is a bug you would imagine they would have fixed it before the full update release.
@@mikehp920It's no doubt a bug, I really doubt after taking so much criticism for planets being boring that they would actually make them boring by removing the best part about them. I was hoping they would fix it before the official patch update. Maybe a lot of people who ran the beta didn't report it thinking it was a beta bug and it would be fixed in the official patch. I know that's what I did. Hopefully they act soon on this one.
I still gonna buy this game no matter what others think or say it looks good n i think its not a bad game at all. Most people that are complaining are the people that never played the game.
Then you need to lower some of your settings if you have inconsistent frame rates. I run an MSI 490 slim on an Intel 10 900 K with 32 gigs of 3200 ram I play at max 2K everything maxed. I have no problem with anything this sounds like a system issue.

Been testing mercury as well as Hyugens 3, no ship spawns at all.

Same there are zero ships landing now. There are ship landing icons but no ships there. No ships landing in cities either at the spaceports

I got a green and white Vista 3 and rebuilt it in to a massive warship with over 8000lb cargo and still has over 80% mobility.

You could always build these in the ship builder too, but of coruse that takes credits.

I got the free star vista by stealing it from Valentine. It was called the Valentine but was in effect the freestar version of the vista 3
I plan on doing a evil/bad character, who's a smuggler build. so ill unlock lvl4 pilot class c pretty quickly. Can i just kill them & be done with it? 😭. Every time i try other people's glitches the crap never works haha an this a 9month old video, i guess ill find out
Not one random ship has landed on any planet I've been on after about 20 attempts. Though my game was buged but I see a lot of people having the same issue since the latest update. I hope Bethesda reverse this, it's one of the best parts of the game for me.

I had one land near the mission to get the uhm, coffee beans. The ship was already empty. Free ship

The update broke random ships landing for a lot of us it seems
You have to have the extreme environment outpost skill to set an outpost on mercury
has this been patched yet?
This ship is level locked so the main reason you cant steal it is because of that.
I accidentally took this ship using the navigation table...😂 Crew and everything.

Yeah, after I downloaded the beta update, not one random ship lands for me now. Hopefully they fix this, lots of people having the issue. Anybody having it should file a bug report.
I wonder if the ship's randomly spawning on planets was intentionally removed, or is it a bug in the in the latest update ? I'm sure plenty of people would have noticed it in the beta update release, so if it is a bug you would imagine they would have fixed it before the full update release.
@@mikehp920It's no doubt a bug, I really doubt after taking so much criticism for planets being boring that they would actually make them boring by removing the best part about them. I was hoping they would fix it before the official patch update. Maybe a lot of people who ran the beta didn't report it thinking it was a beta bug and it would be fixed in the official patch. I know that's what I did. Hopefully they act soon on this one.

Poor timing, this has just been removed as part of the new patch. random ships will no longer land on planets/Moons. No idea why.
Because it is Bethesda. They fix one thing and break two or three others.
I landed on Mercury and a Crimson fleet Wight 2 (Class C) landed nearby. Cleared out the crew and took the ship. Bam! No Freestar for me womp womp

Why is your game skipping every 2 seconds? The animations and camera slow down for a second and jump to normal speed.
I still gonna buy this game no matter what others think or say it looks good n i think its not a bad game at all. Most people that are complaining are the people that never played the game.

Fucking hell the inconsistence frame rate is giving me a headache. Imma just figure out how to get this ship on my own.
Then you need to lower some of your settings if you have inconsistent frame rates. I run an MSI 490 slim on an Intel 10 900 K with 32 gigs of 3200 ram I play at max 2K everything maxed. I have no problem with anything this sounds like a system issue.
