Where did I get this idea in my head that James used to work as a teacher's assistant? It might be one of those internet fibs I've randomly heard somewhere, but it's kind of funny
what i love about james's comedy is how he always seems like he knows just as little about what's going to come out of his mouth next as everyone else does. it truly seems like he is just anxiously spitballing everything he ever says
Thanks for sharing! 😀 I’m certain that it is indicative of my lack of education and intelligence, and it wasn’t simply a typo in a silly comment on a silly video. I’m glad you helped me out!!
I love that Ed and Nish just burst out laughing as soon as Acaster mentions Pinocchio as if to say “this is not the first time I’ve heard this absolute rubbish” 😂😂😂😂😂
I actually felt kinda bad hearing his recount of it all, the hilarious "had a breakdown bon appetit" clip going viral when he was legitimately absolutely going through it
If you haven’t read his book “classic scrapes” I would immediately advice audio booking it (he reads it) or on your tube can listen to them all, but, audio book tells them better! Also, has a book about music called perfect sound what ever, enjoy! Ohh and a podcast “off menu” with Ed Gamble about your perfect meal, each celeb says what would be their perfect meal from meals they’ve had in the past, enjoy x
@@humanpip6425 yess I have listened to some on youtube, its amazing. I didnt realise he reads it as an audiobook! That is a must have, thanks for the tip
In another episode of Taskmaster, Greg says he *has* seen the Matrix. Conclusion: Taskmaster is a sham, James was treated unfairly and robbed, we should riot in the streets.
Could it have been a later episode? Maybe he felt so inspired by James’ inability to explain or understand The Matrix that Greg finally went home and watched it after James was on the show…? Maybe? 🤷🏻♀️😬😂
Love the little editing details, that way even if I've seen the clip before there's still something fresh about watching it again. Love this little collection, cheers! ^^,
I think it was during the part when he’s essentially trolling Paul Hollywood over his uncooked flapjacks looking, well, uncooked-I forget if it’s that scene but man, something about that “aggressive finger wagging” caption about knocked me over when it popped up!!! I have NO IDEA WHY it was so funny, but it definitely was. Or…ok, to ME anyway, but I, like James in the bake off tent, am wildly sleep deprived 🤦🏻♀️😂
He admitted he was shite himself (according to him, even his former students said so). Yes, his way to deal with outbursts is exceptional, but there are about 17 more layers to be a great teacher.
It makes a LOT of Greg’s jokes/stories that much funnier, really-even the ones that have nothing to do with his time as a teacher. It’s just like you said, you listen to him say some of the funniest things I’ve ever heard (some of it waaaay raunchier than the others), and then you suddenly remember that he used to be an EDUCATOR-responsible for other people’s children-it just instantly adds 3 new hilarious layers to whatever outlandish thing you heard him say a minute ago 😂
James acaster has the rare talent of appearing 100% confident in himself despite any kind of evidence or setback whatsoever. Much like Rick Mayal, although their acts are completely different
one of my favorite bits of his is the one where he's telling about being in a gang and ending up having to move because he doxxed himself; the part where he says, "As per" is just so great
@@remotecontrolanimals7905 I watched the hilariously unfunny video and then commented. Thank God you're here to comment on comments in the section marked "comments". This video literally does not contain a single joke, not one. Watch it again. Not a single joke. Someone just put a laugh track behind an autistic kid talking.
"Comedic Genius" is over the top. That would compare him with the greatest comedians of all time. He's funny but far from a comedic Genius. Maybe some day. Throwing around those words dilute a great achievement. Why do I feel so strongly about this? I don't know.
That bit where Greg's talking to James quietly, you can really feel the years of experience teaching children coming off of him.
and also taking him aside to the corner as if to have a private conversation despite them being mic’d up is a good bit
Once a teacher, always a teacher.
I also feel like that bit was most of James' experience at school as well lol
Didn’t Greg hold him upside down at one point too?

Yes
I like to describe him as the modern-day, British Steve Martin: completely ridiculous, with absolute confidence for no reason.
I relate to that so much, I'm nowhere near as funny as James obviously but that's kind of what I do, probably why he's one of my favourite comedians.
His radio stuff is gold ! 👌🏽👌🏽

Same. I thank (and blame) ADHD for that. I have no more idea of what I'm about to say than anyone listening to me.
James throwing an absolute fit over the team tasks in Taskmaster is actually a high light of my entire life 😂

The little eyebrow raise at Ed when Nish says he wants to hear his version of the bible was brilliant. He's like "yep, I've got this".
During bake off, apparently he was jet lagged and hadn’t slept in 40 hours. Even better
so you really believed that 😂😂😂
36 hours I think 😂😂😂
Yeah but he wasn't in a good head space...he ended up ringing the Samaritans that night
@@aislingbolton793 no way😢
And his relationship with a long term girlfriend had ended.
I will never get over the little confusing box moment with James comment and Greg’s reaction.
Noo how could you miss the classic bakeoff line - “Started making it, had a breakdown…Bon appetite!”

me right now - saw him on taskmaster and have been obsessing over his comedic genius brain for 4 days straight
loser
The best
🌹🇬🇧🌹 I just love him he makes me laugh so much
The show where he tells the story about his arch nemesis is amaze
I love Ed Gamble's 'Yyyou fuckin idiot' because that is peak extremely amused friend
‘Great flavour, not very well executed’
‘Story of my life’
Greg reverted to a teacher so quickly that even Acaster saw it. He took it well. You can tell he was an educator, too.
Greg doing the teacher bit with James was perfect, what made it all the better was that James just fell into the naughty pupil role automatically too.
I need more of this in my life. James is the best

The thing that I’m left pondering after watching this video is: How has Greg not seen The Matrix?
Here's a cabbage for James

I've never seen anyone standing up but sitting on a stool at the same time before.

I feel so bad for James on bake-off
If you look at James without hearing him, he is actually built like and has the face of a classic Greek or Roman statue.
Nish, Ed and James all being on Mock the Week must have been fucking insane
Why is he so attractive
his bake off stuff after reading or listening to Perfect Sound Whatever is actually hard.

Lots of people mad in the comments cause he didn't make jokes about "asian people eat cats and dogs brr" or rip into trans people and immigrants I see
I put a load of salt on it for a laugh!
He's a bit of a dandy.
Don't worry you will be funny
I thought the Matrix DVD was the most confusing thing, because of that stupid case that didnt match any other DVD case that you owned.
Great comedy, but I do take issue with the editing, most notably the added sound effects and the stuttering video.
James should have brought Interstellar not the Matrix
Good video Mr Bean
Tyson Fury wears Greg Davies pyjamas.
the added text ruins this
His comedy reminds me of Stewart Lee
If only random words he uttered didn't constantly appear written on the screen ruining every punchline, it would be watchable
Just watch one of the dozens of other compilation videos.
Residing in the "where are they now column". As funny as cancer. Rip Acaster. You will not be missed.
I guess the genius part is subjective.
