He also writes for TV and has written two books. The guy is brilliant in live and improv situations and is one of the great talk, quiz, or panel show guests of all time. Personally, I'd put him over Will Farrel or John Mulaney or and JIm Carrey. Do yourself a favor and go down the rabbit hole. Just look up his James Acaster Classic Scrapes clips. There are hours of stories of his weird fucking life that he puts together like Spaulding Grey. He is a very good storyteller.
Repertoire was old material from previous tours. He rerecorded them all at once to release on Netflix, but they were written over the span of four years.

I'd put him up against Richard Ayoade personally. There's a clip of them going at it on Acaster and Widdicomb's show "Hypothetical" that is pure gold. They have an awkward-off to see who is the most awkward comic in the game. Ayoade wins for sure. It's really, really funny.
The Stewart Lee influence really comes through strong on some of these clips. Not even sure these are the best bits of the show...difficult to take out 10 minutes though, the whole show was gold.
